Last week of August 2017 to September 18 2017 . Boyfriend and I go to best buy to purchase a refrigerator, given that our fridge is dead and only the freezer is about 50% functional.
We decide on a deeply discounted floor model of a Samsung refrigerator because we were really impressed with it's features. GREAT! we left thinking, because we got a heck of a deal. Delivery comes about a week later, an hour early, and driver said we were not ready to take delivery and he drives off with our stove and fridge , so delivery is rescheduled.
A few days later they deliver our stove, the delivery men tried to say that our current stove was "connected to the cabinets and they could not install" . I pulled my own stove halfway out to show them this was not the case, then they figured out that they had to do their jobs. One of the delivery men then said the plug is on the floor I am not sure we can bend over to plug it in. They ultimately did do this.
The third delivery attempt...A man came in , did some measuring, walked out of the house , got in the truck and left. His boss called us and told us that he did not like the smell of what I used to clean my kitchen. After several phone contacts with Best Buy at their toll free number trying to remedy this situation and being disconnected mysteriously several times, I speak to someone who called me and said an "escalation" would be filed. I find out this "escalation" comes with an October 9 delivery date.
Next day I call the toll free number to cancel the sale. This is problematic for several operators and again mysterious disconnections are happening. I call the local number and am finally able to cancel the sale. On Friday the 15th of September my boyfriend and I went to Sears.
On Monday September 18th before noon, I had my new fridge.
Delivered, on time, professionally installed by friendly , knowledgeable, courteous, people. We did not get a floor model this time, it was far more expensive, however the aggravation of someone not delivering something that you outright paid for and well over $1,000 is far more troubling.
