I was finally able to track done a Best Buy person who could solve my issue. She is Trish Walker (President, Services).
I wrote a letter to her HOME!
I received back an Email from her assistant. I'm talking months to get this...

The General Manager of the store took this problem on, he has arranged to have a check for the damages plus a little more for the aggravation to be sent in the next 7 to 14 business days. He has been great through this whole ordeal once we got him involved. Still leery...

It was not resolved and I will not request any additional assistance from Best Buy mgmt. My purchasing decisions will now be left to product research resulting in online purchases after the fact.
