Best Buy in Garden City, New York - Cash Only

Went to buy a telephone at the Bestbuy in Roosevelt field Mall , NY on 11/21/14 .after waiting at the checkout line for 10 minutes I was told they were only Accepting cash only at this Bestbuy . The employees here are totally lost , they have no clue on good customer service . The manager was nowhere in site . I left my items at the register and exited away. Don't waste your time coming to this bestbuy. I should have known something was wrong when the entire store was empty . I will buy my electronics elsewhere . I couldn't make a complaint online with Bestbuy it is very difficult to do as well .

Customer service is dead at Best Buy

I was trying to purchase a PS4 and a TV on line at Best Buy for in store pick. During the on line purchase process the only option is to pick up within 8 days. This gift is for a college student, flying back to school in 16 days. I was asking for an exception to the 8 day pick up. Sounds easy, right? Here is what I tried: 1. On line chat. "Sai" just restated the policy of picking up before the 8th day 2. Called the local store at St. Matthew's Mall, Louisville, KY and got Sam in customer service who restated said policy of store pick up within 8 days. When I asked for an exception he told me that "the on line order process has changed and is completely out of their control". He also gave me a 1-800 number 3. I called the 1-800 number and spoke to Charlene. She understood my predicament and let me know that the store manager could make an exception to let a game system and TV sit in the store for an extra 8 days so that my college student could pick up his Christmas gifts when he returned. Charlene also suggested placing the order later so as to avoid the 8 day policy. Not an option as I want to make sure my selections are in stock. 4. I called the St. Matthew store in Louisville, KY for a 2nd time and again got Sam. I asked to speak to a manager and got Melissa. While I was on hold Sam filled Melissa in on my unreasonable request so she was prepared to support Sam's original response and refer me to the 1-800 number. I shared with her that I already called and was told the store manager could make the exception. She was unwilling to make a note to hold my son's Christmas gifts in her local store for 8 days. I worked harder at trying to do business with BestBuy than all of these employees combined today. I also make a prediction that they will quickly go the way of Circuit City. When all your employees are capable of is restating company policy and not thinking about customer needs and solutions, your days are numbered.

People like you really annoy me. What makes you think that you should get some special treatment?

How many thousands of people do you think order at Best Buy daily? If they make an exception for you, why shouldn't they make an exception for every customer? I really HATE people like you. You ONLY THINK OF YOURSELVES.

Put yourself in the employees shoes. If they say yes to you, they would have to say yes to everyone else. This situation is a lot easier because there is absolutely nothing that can be done to extend the time past 8 days. The 1-*888* number people have no idea of in store policies and feel that if the store manager wanted to they could give you whatever you want.

Why not just order it and go pick it up yourself. Or here's an idea, have it shipped to your son's school so its just there when he arrives. Or were you just too cheap to pay shipping charges. And to be honest with you, the reason why Best Buy HAS and WILL outlast places like Circuit City is because they have a better structure in place and are able to say NO to people like you.

You can't have customers dictate how you run a business, or your business will be run into the ground.

Best Buy in Central Islip, New York - POOR RETURN POLICY

I WENT TO BEST BUY TO PURCHASE A SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 2, 10.1, WITH ACCESSORIES, FOR A GIFT. JUST BEFORE I PURCHASED IT I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A 15 DAY RETURN POLICY. I TOLD THE EMPLOYEE THAT IT WAS A GIFT, I MAY NOT SEE THE PERSON FOR 2 WEEKS, COULD IT BE EXTENDED? I ASKED FOR A MANAGER AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO EXCEPTIONS. THIS NEW POLICY CAUSED ME TO NOT PURCHASE THE ITEMS AND WENT ELSEWHERE. BEST BUY SHOULD REVISIT THIS NEW POLICY AND CHANGE IT BACK TO 30 DAYS. THEY LOST A DECENT PURCHASE AND THESE PURCHASES ADD UP.

Where did you buy it from instead that had more than a 15 day return policy on electronics? It wasn't Wal-Mart, Target, Radio Shack, or Sears because they also have a 15 day return policy on electronics.

It's not like Best Buy's is so much shorter than everyone else's.

Corporate, I bought 4 months ago around 3,500 dollars worth of stereo equipment.The individual that helped me at best buy gave me a set of speakers two came in the box to many no big deal?I went to best buy same location to return it they could not find my order in the computer for some reason. I figured i would go there buy my two 70 inch tv,s because im now setting up my family room. It probably would have cost me another 8,000 dollars? I wanted to get a credit for whatever the speakers cost maybe a couple hundred dollars. They called the manager he was rude.To make a long story short he told me flat out he does not need my business. This is after him trying to fix the problem for 5 minutes. What prompted that was when I said to him that this experience today is horrible and even considering not doing business with best buy anymore.This happened on 4/21/2013 at around 1 p.m. If I tell you his effort was terrible so terrible that this is the first complaint I ever put in for anyone at any store in my whole life and im 45 years old.I can tell you that it is people like this managing your stores that will drive down sales. Because I who is very easy going and has no problem spending a decent sum of money without thinking about it, was just lost as a customer forever. How many more did this happen to in that store I wouldn't be able to tell you.And as a company like best buy who is trying to keep same store sales up its not gonna happen with people like this.It wasn't even the fact that I wasn't accommodated it was his attitude and recommend you fire him. From your post you were the one being rude. Next time you need help in any store go in with a good attitude and you will get a lot better help.

Store employees have feeling too.

Treat them with respect and they will treat you with respect. I have never had anyone in Best Buy be rude to me and havel always received good service.

I have taken a forty dollar cab ride to the store with a damaged led television 5692113 westinghouse .I was told that they could not let me exchange it or take it back due to scratches and a crack in the class screen . the sales manager brought out a bottle of cleaner an a rag and cleaned off all the fingerprints .I was told to take it back and would not receive any credit .I told him to give me a paper saying they had possesion on the product . I left the product in the store and am planning to set up tables in front of the store to deter any more dis satisfied customers from entering with out my testimony .This is my constitutional right an will take full advantage of it .As long as I am not infringing on thier property then this is a legal course of action .This got turned into a very heated debate with this employee .So now it is just a matter of princible and personal justice .I spend enough money at this fifty billion dollar chain store to be disrespected ,embaressed harrassed and blamed for damage I did not do . I will deter any customer I come in contact with for the months following .I also am in contact with a very good member of my church who is a reporter for channel 12 news Ken Grisewald .I do not even think that this store realizes the radifacations of *** off A very angry VIetnam Veteran with a vengence for justice .For this I apoligize to all of the other employees that may be involved indirectly . I find that it is much more effective to call the better business bureau and the attorney general. File complaints with both and allow them to investigate the business.

They will apply pressure to the business to resolve the issue and if they don't this will lead to seriously and publicly hurting the reputation of the business. Their rating will go down and the issue will be placed online for the public to view.

Best Buy in Bayport, New York - Inappriopriate behavior by supervisor

To Whom It may Concern: I will follow up with a written complaint to the headquarters. I was at the Patchogue, Best Buy Store this afternoon trying to return a gift that my daughter had a duplicate of. A sales manager names Charlene (no last name given) was very rude to me. The gift was given a month and 10 days. My husband passed away suddenly recently. I was not looking for sympathy. I wanted my money back but she refused to give it to me. When I pursued the issue by explaining my situation, she responded, "I am done with you" and walked away from me. She left me standing there for 15 minutes until another employee came over to help. I am highly disappointed in this twenty something year olds response to me. No compassion. Personally, I think she should be reprimanded for her behavior.
