Best Buy Apple Iphone 6s Cell Phone Review from Boston, Massachusetts

1.8
Details
On 8/15/2016 I purchased an iPhone 6s from bestbuy.com. My order was initially declined and immediately canceled (even though I got a follw up email giving me 24 hours to correct the problem). I corrected the problem within no more than 45 minutes and re placed the order. Bestbuy.com was giving a free gift with the iPhone. That free gift did not go with the re placed order. Apparently I would have had to refuse the order and start the whole thing over again. I just learned that would take quite a bit of time but I'll get to that. When.I got the message from UPS that it had been shipped, I immediately called them and had it sent back. I did not do this so that I could re place the order, I ordered one directly from Apple, but rather because I found the fact that the gift didn't carry over unfair. I intended to return the iphone and forget about it. What lead me to write this is the day after I returned the iphone, I got a message from UPS that I was going to receive an order the next day. I called UPS to send it back but it was already in transit. I called Best Buy to find out what happened but their "computers were down". When I virtually accused her of lying she said they had been down for a couple of days. I guess the Geek Squad is having an off week. Now I have to *** another day to refuse the package. Even though it requires a signature who knows what their next lie will be. When buying an IPhone shop at Apple. Its a bit more but for a protection plan its a flat $129.00 rather than $11.00 a month, they have a free set up session with an actual person and fantastic customer service. Like many fellow reviewers, I found Best Buy nothing short of despicable.

I had appliances delivered and it was an absolute nightmare. They delivered the wrong dishwasher and did not have my refrigerator at the scheduled delivery date. It was impossible for me to reschedule the delivery time and I had to work through the automated phone...

When it comes to ordering appliances online, Bestbuy.com is not my friend, either... You have my sympathy. What was the eventual resolution to your issue?

Bait & Switch in Best Buy Marketplace

I purchased a Nikon P520 camera through Best Buy from a Marketplace seller. I have a receipt that shows exactly the item I purchased. There's even a picture. I received a completely different, lesser camera. After contacting both Cameta Camera and Best Buy, Best Buy blames the marketplace seller Cameta Camera, they blame Best Buy. They are hiding behind finger pointing knowing that I am only a single consumer. Neither business is taking responsibility for what is plainly a mistake. It is literally the definition of Bait & Switch. If you offer a product at a low price with no intention of selling the advertised item at that price, but require more money to actually receive the specified item or you get a lesser item for the advertised price it is Bait & Switch. If Best Buy/Cameta Camera advertises a Nikon P520 for a given price and I buy the item for that price, I should receive the Nikon P520 for the advertised price that I paid. Best Buy will never receive another dollar from me ever again.

Worst experience ever | Best Buy review from Boston, Massachusetts

I have spent a great deal of time in finding a computer and was ecstatic to find that it was in your stores. only to find out that it wasn't and I had to order it from you on line. which was find. four credit cards later I find out only after I called a store that it wasn't your web site but another. yet I was going through the best buy web site. when I called the number that the store had given to me for the web site I found the company didn't have the laptop had nothing to do with the ordering just the shipping and was very adamant that it was a best buy issues and has nothing to do with them. That if they best buy had the laptop on line then they had it to ship. once I told them for the fifth time that best buy didn't have it any more, the company I was talking to could. sell me the laptop but for fifteen hundred more with out a warranty. On top of all of this I find out that best buy did charge my credit card for the amount for a laptop that you don't even sell or have in the store. I had to call the credit card company and go through a hour of explaining what had happened to cancel out the charge. how can you as a company charge for a laptop that you don't sell or have control over?! I have never run into such a problem all around and am extremely disappointed in the store and who they meaning best buy does business with. due to this issue I will be telling my friends and family what has happened as well as on your online review. I hope this is a problem that will be fixed soon. I nor my family will ever visit or buy from this store again. I will also be deleting my online account and rewards program. these practices that you have put into place is extremely disappointing and worrisome. I have just got an email from them telling me that the laptop I wanted was in stock. however after calling it isn't. I had to go to another company for the laptop. It was four hundred dollars cheaper and was expedited for free. Never buy anything from here.

Changed terms of credit card without notifying the consumer. | Best Buy review from Boston, Massachusetts

I was told in the store that I would be able to pay back my credit card using my debit card. They changed this policy and will only accept checking account numbers. This means that I cannot pay my bill without starting a checking account. My debit card is connected to a savings account (Don't ask how. I know its a savings account because when I tried to use the account number to pay, it declined it.) I can't pay my bill, and their only solution was for me to go to the store and pay with cash. The store is 2 hours from my house. To top it all off, I have ordered 3 credit cards that never arrived. The bill arrives, but the card does not. I am returning the computer and getting my money back today. I can't deal with this shoddy company anymore.

If you ask any store employee form any retail chain "Can I pay by debit card?" and they reply yes I guarantee close to 100% will be thinking you are talking about a checking debit card not a savings debit card so they didn't change anything. Also, while you do need a checking account, if you had bothered to look on Best Buy's website you would see you can also pay by mail or by phone and not have to drive 2 hours.

Worst place to shop! | Best Buy review from Boston, Massachusetts

Worst place to shop! I ordered two video games via the phone with best buy, shipped to Boston to my friends while I was in LA.one was God Father, another one was a fighting game. A month later, back to Boston, I opened the package with him on his birthday. WRONG ITEMS! I brought them to store try to return or exchange these unopened games, store told me that I have to call the call center to return. I called! They told me that it was over a month. No return or exchange for games. I explained that they are unopened and they were the one send me the POKEMON GAME!!! That was in summer 2006, I don't shop best buy since then.

IPad mini cover not returnable | Best Buy review from Boston, Massachusetts

I bought an expensive iPad mini 4G 32GB with Apple cover and film at top price. I decided to purchase a case for better protection. I brought the cover back and they would not issue a refund b/c it was a few days after the 15 day return limit. I could buy the same cover at Target, Walmart, Staples, or any other discount store and return it at any time. It's petty to have such a policy for such a trivial amount ($39). So now they've lost a customer FOREVER. And I was going to buy a new MacBook Air. I will NEVER shop at Best Buy again. Good Bye.

How is this Best Buy's fault? You tried to return it too late.

It's your fault. Your receipt clearly states 15 day return policy.

I'm not surprised. it seems like most people who own overpriced Apple products act like whiny little babies like you.

Best Buy's return policy

Bought a laptop and five weeks later it died. Was refused an exchange or return, despite the fact that it was a defective product. File a complaint with the MA Attorney General's office as well as the BBB. I will have to purchase a new laptop. I may file a small claims court action. I am now dealing with HP directly. BB will never get another cent from me. I am a great customer- I just recently purchased laptop for my son who is in college and an iPod. I had a flat screen t.v. picked out from Best Buy, but they will NEVER get any more money from me.

Laptop "died" is a very broad term. Did you drop it?

Was there a power surge? Perhaps you spilled something on it?

In my experience, the customers that whine the loudest are the ones whose fault it is in the first place. A laptop dying does happen but I'm also sure that the Geek Squad could have and probably did offer to send it out for service but you were too impatient to wait.

I'm not an attorney but I believe an attorney would say that somebody who buys a laptop computer does so with the reasonable assumption that it will last more than 5 weeks before it goes belly up. I am also told that most of those extended warranties you can buy at point of sale are not worth nearly as much as what they cost.

Patrick
#642573

well then I guess you don't plan on buying a laptop anywhere because a majority of retail stores have similar computer return policies. I guess you turned down the protection plan and assumed that the manufacturer warranty means bring it back to the store.

well you bought an HP laptop, there's no Best Buy brand laptop. oh well, *** people these days.

Simon sounds reasonable. You angry customer do not.

I assume you turned down the geek squad protection plan (which has no repair deductable cost) for your major purchase too. why is that bunk computer bby's fault and not the manufacturers fault?

Anonymous
#642090

The return policy is on a huge sign by customer service and on the back of your receipt. You have 15 days to return the laptop, which is the same policy as Wal-Mart.

You can waste your time with a lawsuit if you want, but you will be laughed out of court. It's not as if Best Buy has an unusually short return period. 15 days for electronics is industry standard. Your computer is still under the manufacturer's warranty.

Instead of :cry :cry :cry to anyone who will listen, why don't you contact them and get it fixed?

I fail to realize how Windows 8 deficiencies are Best Buys fault. We sell the product, we do not manufacture the product. If you brought your computer into my Geek Squad I would be more than happy to help you.

MS office Refund Ripoff | Best Buy review from Boston, Massachusetts

If you buy MS office with your new computer at Best Buy, they will not refund the software. They tell you that you can use the same code on another computer.......and I will have no issues down loading the software using same the product key. LIES, LIES LIES. I called MS and they said that I would have issue and they would offer the refund from them. "Best Lies" as they are now called never told me to call MS. Why are they still in business.....why is their stock not worth 50 cents. They are so bad at sales, and customer service. BEWARE WIN8 HAS HUGE BUGS!
