Don't get ripped off | Best Buy review from Carbondale, Illinois

My wife bought a GoPro camera. The total was 399.00 and tax. after making two payments of $100.00 each, her monthly statement is $900.00+. She has gone twice to the store to try and straighten this out, and her statement gets higher every time. She will have bought 2 GoPro's at the rate she is going. Stay out of Best buy unless you want to be robbed. She will never make a purchase at BestBuy again, they have LOST OUR BUSSINESS FOREVER! They are thieves.

I found a tv on walmart.com and took it to best buy in Homewood Il to match, but the sales customer service associate glat out lied in my face. This is common with all major companies. Marketplace items are sold by third party sellers, in other words, people other than Best Buy.

You cannot use gift cards at stores other than Best Buy.

You will find this on Walmart's website, you cannot use gift cards for items sold by Wayfair on their website, etc. This is a really common practice.

How long can Best Buy keep me on hold?
I called the Vernon Hills, Illinois Best Buy to see if they had a router in stock. The auto system said that my call would be answered in order, and that three customers were ahead of me. So I waited. Five minutes. Ten minutes. At 15 minutes, I sat on the couch with a book, put my phone on speaker, and waited to see how long it would take. After FORTY-THREE MINUTES ON HOLD, someone answered. At this point, I didn't care about the router anymore. I asked to speak to a manager. After a moment, the associate said that the manager was busy, and asked if he could help. I told him that I had been on hold for 43 minutes, and wanted to talk to the manager. Rather than apologizing, or saying that he'd get the manager right away, he said: "Well, I've been answering calls, and I didn't see anyone on hold for that long." So basically, the associate was either saying that I had mistaken a much shorter period of time for 43 minutes, or he was accusing me of lying. I gritted my teeth and asked to speak to the manager. The associate went away for a couple more minutes, then came back to say that the manager was going to be busy for a while with something else. I waited a few seconds to see if he would offer to take my phone number. Of course he did not. So I said I'll give you my number and the manager can call me back. He took my number. That was at around 7:45pm last night. I still have not gotten a phone call from a manager, and it's been several days. I heard a story saying that Best Buy was making a comeback. With customer service like this, I have no idea how that can be. I don't know if I will ever shop at Best Buy again. P.S. I have a screen shot of my phone showing the length of the call.

Dude calm down. Calls can take a while especially if the people ahead of you are wanting everything explained to them or if they are making a large order.

Without going into great detail il will say they convinced me to buy my appliances there promised me Rewards points and Extended Warranty ....after the purchase received NEITHER...I tried talking with a manager, even called the cooperate office, thry actually snickerd saying"sometimes we get carried away with promises....Worst Store in U.S.History......consumers need to fight back and just buy else where....what a laugh of a company. ..I would rather burn money than spend it there

Spent 7 weeks trying to get my LG washing machine and gas LG dryer fixed under their Geek Squad exteneded warranty. What a nightmare, hours on hold with the Geek Squad and they kept cancelling appointments for one reason or another.....finally they conceded that they don't service LP dryers and needed to use a 3rd party and couldn't find one. So my complaint when to "special forces" and I was told that they couldn't find a third party to come out and service my appliances. Ended up 'giving me' a new washer and dryer (in store I was going to have to pay out of pocket $400 for the cheapest LG frontloaders, and another $200 for the install. ) What a run around and the kicker the new Samsung(had to get the cheapest front loaders in the store to use my store 'credit'. )are so tall when stacked that I have to stand on a step stool to use it....not acceptable sending another complaint to the BBB.

My original machines are gone.....I miss my washer so much and I can't use this dryer except to stand on a step stool. I need a shorter stacked pair. I need an extended warranty....I want my sanitary cycle.

Best Buy Gamer's Club unlocked fiasco

So I thought the discounts for the Gamer's Club unlocked looked pretty good and bought the two-year membership the other day specifically to buy the new Star Wars game. First, I logged onto My Best Buy account to preorder the game with my new Gamers unlocked discounts I'd received via email. When I entered the discount promo code the system returned an error telling me the discount could only be made in a store (not in the comfort of my den). So, I went to my local store to cash in on my discounts ( a $5 voucher off the game and a $10 voucher for preordering a new game). I was told at the counter that I couldn't preorder because the game was being released in 24 hours - the associate was neither friendly nor apologetic. OK, so I drove across town to the other Best Buy and proceeded to the counter with my preorder once again. This time I could preorder but was told I couldn't use my discounts until the next day and would have to have my purchase price adjusted at the customer service counter. Three strikes and I was out - Best Buy had kept me from purchasing a game they sell in their store due to their totally ludicrous marketing policies and their incompetent, under-trained employees. No wonder Amazon is running away with all their business!

I bought a sound bar on line, no remote, I need the remote to link the woofer, I called and they said because it was an open box item it may be missing parts that I have to buy. It never stated that on line. So now I have to drive 100 miles to return this. This company is weak minded and doesn't take care of customers. I will return this and will spend even more to buy another unit from a better retailer. Best buy sucks! The remote is needed to make the system complete, they should have packed it.

Do not buy tv's from bestbuy, they do not honor their warranty...purchased a tv less than a month old and bought extended warranty n they guess what was wrong with it and said it's not covered..BEWARE...My tv screen went out in a few weeks, they suggested I must have thrown something at it. I spoke to sales manager and corporate. General manager sent word through corporate he will not replace tv. Cust service dept was not friendly. Stay away from location on Cicero across from ford city, no class or service. Manager stone faced and don't care what happen, they have no compassion.

Time to call the better business bureau. I hate when stores give me exactly what I want.

If I was you I would definitely stay away after being treated so badly.... absolutely ridiculous.

OK Jet, lemme get this straight. You purchased a laptop and bought the warranty to go along with it.

You broke your laptop and then they gave you money or store credit for the value of the laptop so u can get a new computer. Why the *** are u bit ching? What would you have liked them to do? If the cost to repair the computer actually costs more than the computer originally did then its not economical to fix and they give a new one.

You're getting a new computer. You sound like a *** *** hole who shouldn't even own a computer.

Get over yourself you over entitled diva. Good luck getting Walmart to try to repair or replace anything

I had an encounter with Worst Buy. I purchase a laptop with a 3 year warranty.

After 2weeks the computer fell and was returned to worst buy. Two weeks later they advise me that the computer can not be repaired and they were refunding the price of the computer. I asked why refund and not replacement,they told me the warranty was void and i could purchase a new one with the new laptop.what a fraud, i was told by the associate they will repair or replace if anything happen.After spending so much money for a 3yr warrant it was all over in one month.

i ask the associate if i did not use the warranty during the 3 years if i would have gotten a refund, the answer was NO. How unscrupulous.NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN,SPREAD THE WORD
