After shopping around at a few places looking for a new washer and dryer, I landed at Best Buy. Without going into great detail il will say they convinced me to buy my appliances there promised me Rewards points and Extended Warranty ....after the purchase received NEITHER...I tried talking with a manager, even called the cooperate office, thry actually snickerd saying"sometimes we get carried away with promises....Worst Store in U.S.History......consumers need to fight back and just buy else where....what a laugh of a company. ..I would rather burn money than spend it there

I purchased a laptop charger just under a month ago. It wasn't working with the laptop as I hoped, so I went to return it. I had my receipt all the original packaging. Nothing was ripped open or missing. I received an in store credit for $71 and I never shop at Best Buy. This was a special circumstance that I needed professional guidance on what to buy. NEVER AGAIN will I shop at this store. The customer service person could have cared less that I was sold something that didn't work. I plan on telling all my friends and family about their policy. As well as posting on facebook and other complaint websites.

Best Buy review in Chicago, Illinois: Bought a Microsoft Surface that was a lemon

I bought a Microsoft Surface. They convinced me to buy their support agreement (which I'm now sceptical about) rather than a regular 3-year agreement like I have had previously with HP and Apple. The Surface kept crashing (the screen would freeze, and the only way out was to crash the computer). After three trips in to the Geek Squad, they said I could get a new 'refurbished' computer. Both Apple and HP would have given me a new computer. How do I know they just didn't tinker with the old computer and send it back? I had purchased the computer only 2 months earlier. The staff was nice but ... I felt they should have given me a new one. They knew it was a lemon.

So then why not take the Surface to Microsoft under their manufacturer's warranty and then use Best Buy's portion of the warranty after the 1 year from Microsoft? I get that you feel they should have given you a new one.

I'd read over the Geek Squad protection as they usually do have clauses for 'lemons'.

I'm just saying it's usually a good idea to go through the manufacturer first even with an extended warranty, especially if the extended warranty has a limited number of repairs/replacements. No sense using those up if the manufacturer will cover them, but the extended warranty is useful when the manufacturer's runs out.

On 07/07/2012 I purchased Sony DVD player for my autistic son Anthony. At the time I paid extra for a Best Buy warranty, knowing that Anthony without a portable DVD player would NOT be a good thing. You see, this is NOT just entertainment for him, but, because of his disability, a necessary tool for him to be able to function outside of his home. This tool offers a distraction to sensory issues around him that would normally trigger a negative reaction. On Wednesday September 26, 2012, LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS, from the purchase date this item discontinued working. I assured Anthony that it would be alright, and we headed directly to your store, where it was purchased. Upon arrival I went to the service desk with the DVD player and my original receipt. The young lady took my information then took the DVD player to the back of the store where it was examined. She came out and told me that since it was only recently purchased that it would be exchanged out. So Anthony and I went to the back of the store and spoke to another young man who found a comparable DVD and radioed that information to the front. We took that item to the front, Anthony was very happy and excited that his beloved DVD player was being replaced. When we arrived back at the service desk there was another young lady who AGAIN asked for our information and AGAIN had to examine the DVD player being returned. She brought out another guy, who said "oh no, this will be sent in for repair." We then had to go to another area, wait for your system to come online and give our information AGAIN. If this isn't frustrating enough, I then had to explain to my autistic son that in fact no they will not replace his DVD player, BUT it will be gone for a MONTH!?

Its funny how these Best Buy employees (mostly all teenagers) try to defend their less than honest company. There have been so many PROVEN deceptions that States'Attorneys had to get involved.

I believe that these kids are given paid time to post on websites like these.

File your complaints with your State Attorney's Office of Consumer Protection and continue to post on websites like this. Then send copies of the comments to the State'sAttorney's

Office.

The new issue of Consumer's Report, Dec 2012, on page 25 rates retailers and Best Buy is at the bottom.

If you actually bothered to read your warranty paperwork, it would clearly state your item would be either fixed or they would provide you with a refurbished one. Nowhere on it does it state you get to get a new one off the shelf.

Best Buy Error on Pre-Order

Pre-Ordered the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3 for the PC two months in advance. Had it delivered to the nearby store for pick-up. I went there today to pick it up, and after waiting for 10 minutes, they processed my item. They mistakenly gave me the Xbox 360 version. I let them know, and they had me wait while they found the right item. 10 minutes later, they try to give me the Standard Edition for the PC. I tell them it's not the Collector's Edition. They make me wait another 30 minutes while they search for it. They then tell me they have none in-stock. I ask if any other stores have it in-stock, and none do. Sold out on-line as well. So they literally tell me there's nothing they can do but give me my money back. They sold my game to someone else, tried to give me a different game, and wouldn't give me the game at all. Pissed.

I hopped on to Best Buy rewards about three months ago because of the way better deals on game pre-orders (20 dollars back in store credit). But after pre-ordering 6 games and picking-up two of those, I found out that the cashiers have no idea what they're doing, better yet they tell me I'm wrong.

I picked-up Bordelands 2 for Xbox 360 two weeks ago and they have yet to send me my pre-order bonus code. Also I haven't received my 20 dollar certificate for madden 2013 yet, which I bought over 40 days ago. After calling Best Buy's customer support, I find out that my cashier rang me wrong and that I have to resubmit my case for the code, try couldn't just use my rewards card to figure things out!?!?

After waiting a week after the initial BB customer service, I called again and found out that the rep I talked to enter my complaint it wrong....***. Now my friend have the new free dlc for Borderlands, and I have to pay for it.

been posting here for a while and have noticed that whenever there is a complait posted about how dumb a customer has acted at any store, there's a loser like Sleeper who tries to get in the pants of the original poster by defending them. I've worked retail but not for Best Buy.

nor would I ever work there with how crazy it seems in there every time I shop there will all of the *** crowding the store. I was simply telling the guy that mistakes happen, so was the Anonymous poster, and I also want to tell the original poster to get some fresh air instead of having to buy every video game right when it comes out and then play it all night instead of going to school or work.
