Buyers BEWARE of BEST BUY's return policies

I purchased a 32" TV at Best Buy online and figured it would be a safe purchase considering that I had purchased it from such a "reliable" store and that I had also purchased their Geek Squad protection program. The TV arrived about a week later and it arrived broken. I didn't worry because I knew Best Buy would stand behind their products and all services provided. However, the store manager Antony informed me that not only he was not going to take it back, but that I had to deal with UPS myself. Basically, I was out of a TV, out of cash and out of luck with Best Buy and their Geek Squad Program wich was as useless as trash. Never again buying from Best Buy and will move my business to Costco who do have a very "reliable" return policy and customer service. Best Buy has lost a customer for life.

Go to ibreakufix for better service. I have always been satisfied with their service there, and it is less costly.

"low Price guaranteed" - a good tag line but who is Best Buy kidding?

I bought an hdtv on 6/16 at BB with scheduled delivery on 6/27. On 6/23 I found Sears had the same tv on sale at $40 less. Not a huge difference but I would like to find out how good BB is with their promise/commitment to customers. I called on 6/24 and was put on hold for more than 30 mins because the rep had to check my info out. First, she said Sears website was frozen so she couldn't verify my claim. she then said Sears said the offer isn't available for my area. By the way, this is the game that Best Buy themselves play all the time. They would advertize a low price but when you check into it, conveniently for BB, it is not available in your area. I told her, it cannot be true because I had it in my cart (because Sears make you put it in your cart to see the low price). A long story (and a long wait) short, I told her to cancel my order. That took another 20 minutes of waiting for her to come back to confirm the cancellation. In the meantime, I had already checked out at Sears website and scheduled delivery for 6/25. Good buy and good luck Best (or not so Best) Buy. I am not looking forward to dealing with you. Period.

Phone Protection Plan SCAM !! | Best Buy review from San Francisco, California

Do NOT buy. Worst scam ever. They do not replace the phone upon issue. They make you buy a loaner phone (I got an old beat up Blackberry) not even an iPhone. $50. Then you have to come back and pick up repaired phone. You have to sign your life away that the beat up used loaner phone would not be damaged while wait for repair. If any damage to the already used loaner phone, you owe Best Buy FULL retail value of the loaner phone. Insurance was not what was sold or expected from company. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Yeah, the loaner phone is only necessary if your broken phone isn't functional at all. The part about paying the full price of the loaner phone is false too. Sounds like you just got the bad end of the deal. I have the protection plan and have used it many times and haven't had a single problem.

PS did you think they were gonna give you another iPhone while yours was being serviced? LOL yeah right. You'd probably break it again! :grin

I have the protection plan on my iphone 5 32gb for ATT, they did not make me buy another phone, they asked me if i needed a phone for the meanwhile while they exchanged mine at the repair center and i left the $50 deposit, always make sure what you are signing take your time to read it because it said upon damage of the phone $250 would be charged to my credit card, it never said i had to pay full retail for a $500 phone.

Completely messed up on installing remote start | Best Buy review from San Francisco, California

The service I have received from the Best Buy in Sioux Falls, SD has been absolutely unacceptable. I had purchased a remote start for my vehicle and had it installed through Best Buy. When I purchased the remote start I was advised that it would be $219.99 and with the additional parts and wiring needed to install the remote start the total be about $386 and change. I made the appointment for 12/12/2011 to have it installed, and when I arrived they advised me that they forgot to include a module override and I would have to pay an additional $100. I dropped my vehicle off at 5 PM and was advised it would be finished in 2 ½ hours, i received my vehicle back at 11:30 PM and come to find the next day many things were newly broken. I paid an additional 29.99 so that my remote start key fob would also pop my trunk, my gas take and trunk pop are located in the driver side door next to each other. My trunk would not open, my gas tank would not open, buttons fell out of my dash and pieces of my door were missing. When i took the vehicle back to address the issues one of their workers used hot glue on electronics inside my door and advised me that should fix the issue! about 10 trips and $500 later all of my issues are still not resolved! Never let best buy touch your vehicle!

Your T V Commercial against Santa . | Best Buy review from San Francisco, California

I believe your T V commercials against Santa are very offensive, to both Adults and Children. Wheather your Store believes is a personal thing and I dont think you should try and push your beliefs on the whole world by dissing Santa. I am sure there are many more people that like to believe, than there are that dont believe. What are small children to think when they see your ad and they are kicking Santa off the roof or eating his cookies and making remarks to him. GET RID OF SUCH NEGATIVE ADS. In this time of trouble and worry we need all the help we can get in POSTIVE THINKING.

I take back what I said on Dec 22. I'm really just an angry BB employee that got caught sidling up to old ladies with my peter hanging out so I could try rubbing it on them when they weren't looking.

I'm a true loser and will take my own life soon in order to make the world a slightly better place for everyone. It's the least I can do...

So sad,

It's hard to take your critique of another's grammar seriously when you don't know the difference between "its" and "it's."

As far as the "Santa doesn't exist" thing... have you ever cared about what happened to a character in a movie, television show, or book? If so, you have no room to talk, because those characters don't exist either!

The commercials suck. I won't be shopping at best buy and will tell others to do the same.

Why not encourage something more positive?

why not? Above comment is personal attack please delete.

Most computers don't come with recovery discs. Thats why it's recommended that people burn them prior to playing with them just in case. I believe geek squad also offers this service.

And normally colleges have libraries, that....you know, have computers to do school work on it....For, obviously...Students who don't have money to throw at a laptop.

I agree with D'oh....

"Typical "consumer" thinks everything revolves around him. People work these stores and people like you make hardworking peoples lives a living ***."

Uhh, yes if I'm a consumer and told that it will be delivered on a certain day, and change my schedule to be home, then yes, I do believe that I deserve to be told if it's NOT coming! Is it too much to ask that I get a phone call that my delivery won't happen so I can go on with my day??

"Salespeople lie? Talk to the manager. Find another store. Do your homework before you shop." Of course I do my homework, but how does this help if salespeople lie and give me wrong info?? And I did talk to a supposed manager on the phone who was no help - just reinforced the fact that BB has terrible customer service. The homework I should I have done is to read all the terrible reviews on BB before purchasing anythng.

So, if salespeople don't make commissions, then the fact is, they just give out wrong information - not sure if this is any better...
