Visited bestbuy in Burbank California to buy a printer. While the representative went to the back to bring it from overstock I walked to the Magnilia department. There I was greeted by a representative name Perer. Who then asked what he can help me I told him just browsing around to see. Asked him if he can direct me to the standing speakers he takes me to this one room with many selections. I then thank him and he asks what am I looking for nothing in general I reply. What's your budget he asks I'm not sure I tell him. He replies with all I have here is top quality and everything starts off at minimum $1,000 I reply with a oh ok nice. I ask him where do you guys have bosse I like the brand and had good results. He says I don't carry that bestbuy does I carry top of the line items only I don't think we are speaking the same language here . I reply with oh ok well thank you. He then says not saying you can't Afford it I'm just saying I have top quality . I again reply thank you, he walks away and goes to sit down. While leaving the Magnolia place I feel like this guy is just judgin me. Just an FYI Peter or management from this department. I'm a manager for a multi million dollar company where I manage 18 employees who get paid around $90,000 a year. For this speaker sales man here to tell me I can't afford this is a joke I was about to place my card and tell him to charge me some random items to shut his face up. This location was on of my top 3 I would take the drive from Sherman oaks to go to this Burbank location. And to have employees like this who think they are better than their customers is just unfortunate.

Best buy chula vista: Cashier Member ID: 3777944485 Sales Manager: Jenny. I chose this title because best buy cashier, employees and managers should be best buy ambassadors. 2 weeks ago I went to best buy chula vista to buy a laptop. After I chose LENOVO Y70, I tried to pay using my NAVY Federal Credit Union credit card (NFCU) but the cashier says that I cannot use this credit card to pay in the store. I tried to cancel my purchase because I don't have cash nor debit but he says that I still can pay with NFCU credit card over the phone when I call citibank. I showed him the NFCU credit card to make sure and he said that he was 100% sure that I can pay with a NFCU credit card. Yesterday, I called citybank to pay my LENOVO laptop and I was surprised that they don't accept any credit card payments. It should be cash or debit. I explained to them what happened in best buy (please see above). They apologized that they cannot help and I have to call best buy to solve the issue because it is impossible to make this payment with a credit card. I called best buy chula vista to speak to best buy sales manager "jenny". I explained to her what happened (please see above). She apologized about what happened and says that everybody makes mistakes and i have to solve this problem and take responsibility for it. WAIT!!! WHAT? so let me get this straight jenny THE MANAGER. You are asking me to mess my credit because I don't have cash and that this will affect my U.S. NAVY command and affect my career and get kicked out because of best buy mistake? best buy!!! how I should take responsibility for your mistake? After explaining to jenny that I cannot return the laptop back to best buy because I have a flight tomorrow morning and my car is in the naval base storage, she was not cooperative and as always replies that everybody makes mistakes and I have to take responsibility otherwise my credit will be messed up. I had to cancel my flight and get my car back from storage to take best buy responsibility and to fix best buy mistake and to keep myself from a bad credit and maybe a job loss. So best buy look what you've done. I had to lose my flight ticket, my storage, wasted hours of my time to fix your and your ambassadors mistake because I care about my credit and since now I have an outstanding credit.

Best Buy in Los Angeles, California - FALSE ADVERTISE PRICE MATCHING POLICY

Went to Best Buy Woodland Hills to buy a Samsung Tablet advertised at Frys Electronics for an excellent price. I showed the manager a printed ad and also mentioned that I have an account with best buy. He refused to do a price match with absurd reasons like "it is only for one day" or "We can not give you a price that goes under our cost". I spoke with two more sales associates that were willing to accept the price match policy, but the Manager did not approved it. I grabed a flyer inside the store to ask the Manager why he did not accept it but just reply "Go online to find a full description of this price matching policy".

Yes. So long as the price match requested is on an identical immediately available product and all other price match criteria are met.

Best Buy specializes in "customer no service"

I went in to the Monrovia store this morning. Had the rudest sales rep it has ever been my misfortune to deal with. I finally got some help from the manager, but didn't get too far. After going home and looking up what he told me, I tried to call and speak with him. I called twice; was on hold both times; and both times, after 15 minutes someone hung up on me. Avoid this rip off company at all costs. Otherwise, your blood pressure will go up, like mine did. Need 10 more words, so I am vamping now.

Best Buy in Stockton, California - No help untill I complained and selective policy on return amounts

I had to wait and watch sales reps look at me as they walked by without helping me (this is not the first time). I wanted to spend $1000 on a camera setup. I had to complain and get a manager to get helped. Sorry customer service!!! I needed to return something valued at $900. I paid in cash but they will not give you back cash unless its under $600. The manager told me that they are not a bank! But if 3 customers returned items valued under $600 each they would get cash back. So they do have the cash. Now I had to drive home which is out of town and have to drive back into town to cash a check when it arrives in a week or 10 days. So they are costing me my time and wasting my gas. Will they cover this expense? What about interest on my money that they would not give me back until i get a check and cash it? So they have selective business policies depending on how much you spend. Kind of like discrimination isn't it? I have spent A LOT of money at best buy on numerous stereos, tv's, kitchen appliances and computers. TIME TO DO BUSINESS WITH SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!

This is a common retail practice to not issue cash refunds over a certain amount and to have a check issued. This is CLEARLY stated in Best Buy's return policy:

"If you paid more than $800 in cash or more than $250 by check or by a debit card without a major credit card logo, we will refund you by check within 10 business days"

So no, Best Buy is not going to reimburse you for gas or the interest (really 10 days worth of interest?) and this is not a selective policy because it's applied to everyone. And good luck finding another retailer who doesn't have a similar policy.

Best Buy in San Rafael, California - Mobile Phone buy back program

I went last Friday to trade/upgrade my Galaxy SIII I had bought there six months ago for a Galaxy Note II, and was told by the sales kid that they could not "buy it back" for the upgrade. After he double-checked with his "manager", he came back with the same story, no alternatives, no work arounds, and no sign of the manager. I just completed a 1+ hour phone call to corporate to report my experience and file a complaint. On this call I discovered that they actually do have a trade-in program they failed to mention at the store. Oh, and I was told that I had nothing to complain about by what could only be the first level customer service rep. They have lost a Premier Silver customer.

I like the term you used 'Sales Kid'! Haven't heard that before, but it's true.

I've felt that many times.

Whomever your spoke too should have provided you some type of retro refund. It's apparent they don't really care. The store screwed up, and screwed you... and BB doesn't care!

It might be because it's the carrier's plan and not BB, so they don't really have any incentive.

If not keeping a customer is incentive for them, then they are tonally clueless, and do not deserve you as a customer. It's too bad this cost you money.

BEST Buy and Geek Squad the Worst!!!!!

I will never deal with Geek Squad as long as I live! I had waited on a work order for more than 1 month and I haven't received a single phone call back from anyone at Geek S@!t! I had received empty promised from Manager and Supervisor and none of those followed through. I had been lie to my Best Buy employees and mangers, they had faked out their names so they can get rid of me. This is not the worst part... I had just purchased my 47 LCD TV for less than 2 months and I am having a PC board issue already. Technician suppose to order a new PC board and replaced that within 3 working days according to the Part Order Card from Best Buy and that was such a lie. I haven't receive a single phone call after all the complaints I had filed. PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH GEEK SQUAD AND BEST BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not doing this because I hate them... I am doing this because I don't want order people to suffer!! I will not even buy a piece of chocolate from best buy since they will not back up their promise. Sales lied to me, Manager Lied to me and Store manager lied to me. I rest my case and I hope no one has to go through on what I did... As of today, My problem is still no resolved and I might just buy another TV....

Umm...WOW, where to begin?

First to "Angry Customer"-

Best Buy is a respectable, responsible company who wouldn't be in business today if they were allowed to act in the manner you suggest. Look them up with the BBB. Managers and employees cannot hide from you or "fake out" their names to avoid you. (their specific employee ID would be on your receipt) I would expect the incident you are referring to must be an isolated one. If you honestly suspect you are being treated unfairly, I invite you to call 1-888-BESTBUY and tell them yourself. This will INSTANTLY elevate you beyond the store level to the corporate headquarters. Have your receipt handy, and like any good consumer-make sure you read the fine print before you make angry ignorant complaints. Any customer service representative will be much more happy to help you if you can actually describe the specifics of what happened with dates, names and details.

To "chevrolet"-

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you meant CIRCUIT CITY. Best Buy made over $200 million last month. Please don't confuse the two. There's a HUGE difference.
