I bought an unactivated device (full retail price) not long ago but it happened to be defective (heats up easily and restarts). It was the last day of return and I brought it to store AFTER calling 1888bestbuy (I was told I could bring it to any store). When I was at the W Hollywood Store, I was denied of my return because of the store's policy of "unactivated device purchases are FINAL SALE." I was not informed of this and this "new" policy was not shown on the receipt as well. The receipt clearly says that all mobile phones are subjected to 14 days return policy. I tried explaining that I called 1888bestbuy and that the receipt does not reflect this "new" policy. The sales/return associate then told me that it's mobile department manager's instruction and had me talked with her instead. I talked to the mobile department manager; she was being extremely unhelpful. I told her that the device was defective and asked if I could AT LEAST exchange it. She still insisted that unactivated devices are final sale and that I can't exchange or return it. This obviously didn't make sense. So she kept brushing me off with the same reason and I left. I went out to the store and immediately called 1888bestbuy again to verify the whole policy again. I was told by the phone representative that this was absolutely not true! Fortunately, the phone representative was kind enough to help me. She put me on hold and personally called W Hollywood Store and talked to the manager to resolve this issue. After the hold was over, she told me that I could talk to the manager again to process the return. Finally, the manager is WILLING to process the return. But AGAIN, she told me that she's only making an exception this time and that future purchase of unactivated devices are FINAL sale. I'm not sure why she continued to insist her point when 1888bestbuy and bestbuy.com obviously did not state such a policy. I didn't ask further questions since I can return my phone. At the end of the visit, I'm glad I was able to return my defective phone BUT i will NEVER come by this store again. All the trouble and wait (for almost 2 hours) just to return a DEFECTIVE product.

Call Best Buy for price match online. General manager Erica very rude and condescending. They don't understand their own price matching policy I never want to listen to the customer. Amazon here I come. Plus if you use Chase freedom card you get 10% off on all Amazon products till end of December 2015. Why by Best Buy? In addition Amazon customer service awesome

Best Buy in Torrance, California - Worst day ever

I had the worst experience of my life at best buy in torrance California ...my husband and I went in looking for a t.v. My husband was checking out a 4k display and was pressing some buttons, an associate approached my husband and told him "don't touch it" like if he was a 5 year old child. My husband asked him to say please and the associate got very upset and started insulting my husband , it got so bad that he approach my husband and physically threaten him. All this confrontation happend inside of the store in front of my 7 month old baby. I have never experience something like this EVER. Unfortunately we didn't mention it to the manager on duty. I was in shock and I was startled, all i wanted to do is go home .That associate does not deserve to work for this company. In retail it's all about customer service and I don't want to feel that I can't walk into the best buy in torrance with the fear I might bump into him. I hope this gets to the correct person an action is taken with this matter. This took place sept 9 at 8:00 p.m. In the t.v.department in torrance ca. Am sure you will be able to see the video. You do realize this is a public site not run by Best Buy, while they may check complaints (tho I'd say it is unlikely) so posting your number isn't the best idea.

Onto my view of the complaint, first the mentioning of your child being there is unnecessary information as it plays no real part on the complaint unless you would have been perfectly fine with the supposed actions of the employee without your child present. Second your husband's request for the associate to say please was unnecessary but didn't warrant any threats so on that I'm can understand the complaint. I'd argue however that getting upset at being told ""don't touch it" like if he was a 5 year old child." is more of a personal issue on how you chose to interpret the way the employee stated it.

Whatever. They had every right to be pissed.

Last I checked, a store's purpose was to sell things. Who the *** is going to buy something they haven't touched or played with? That's the whole *** point of the TVs and things being out on display!

Otherwise they'd just keep them in the boxes and show you a picture. If that employee had said that to me, there would have been holy *** to pay.

I send my daughter in with the receipt and my credit card to return a product, the customer gentleman, told her did you purchase this if not you can't return this. the person who purchase has to come and return this product,he told her in a Rudy way. Now I'm in the car waiting became I'm disable. So I went in and he never ask me any question after he saw I was disable. never ask me for my license,credit card was I the purchaser nothing. He was very rudy because she was black. He new he was wrong.. I ask to speak to a manager. the supervisor Eric would not aloud me to talk with the store manager.. He told me he was the Supervisor of all the store..LOL He thought I was craze because I,m Black LOL

Ordered a washer and Dryer. Was told it would be dele versed on Saturday. Saturday morning at 8am was called and told they did not have my washer. I asked how long it would be they advised it was on back order. I asked for my money back and was told I had to wait for my order to come in before they could refund my money. Had to literally tell the Manager that I would not leave without my product or my money. It took me almost two hours of arguing but they finally put the money on my debit card.

I purching a big screen Tv on 2-23-2015. The TV was delivered to my house on 2-28-2015. I found it was too big to fit my living room, so I decided to return it. I went to the store were I purchesed today (3-12-2015). They refused returning. I was told by the manager that the date count from the purchesed date, not from the delivered date. I am so upset about this. It does not make sense for me. Since they have 15 days returning policy, I have never thought that I will be a problem return it since I only have the TV for 12 day. My order number is 1115054584730. What I can do for this? I may have to hire a lawyer to sue them even I don't want to.

First of all, I spend $15,000-$20,000 a year at this store. On 2/28/2015 at about 5:30pm I went to this store and was wanting to buy 2 Amazon Fire TV's, like I have many times in the past, and this last time, there is a VERY BIG security guy that comes up to me (I did not get his name, but you cannot miss him) and was VERY rude and said "you can only buy one per house hold" and I said "why, I have never had this problem before", he walks back to me and just says "one per house hold" and turns his back to me and walks away... This was very infuriating!!! For one, I AM THE CUSTOMER!!! there are many ways he could have told me nicely and tried to be cordial about there new policy, granted, this is the ONLY store to have this policy. The store manager also said that i can order more than one Fire TV and pick them up on Tuesday, but how is this ANY different from just letting me buy 2 this night when I wanted to?? I asked to speak to the store manager and he said he would have a talk with the security guy, but I really do not think they will do anything about it. If they do not, they are going to loose my business. I have my own business and customer service is key. If I were to talk and treat my customers like I was treated, I would not have any customers left!! I am writing this review because I do not believe that this store manager is going to do anything about this. The way he said he was going to talk to this guy seemed like he was just trying to get me out of the store. I was not rude by any means, but they DID let the store manager know that I was very upset. Anyone who wants to sell something should not turn their back and walk away while you are talking to them. two thumbs down to this store!!

I purchased a Dyson one day ago and saw the price drop, on bestbuy.com, by $40. Figuring they had a price match policy, I called and asked if they'd credit the difference. However, I was promptly told that they would not be matching any pricing, even their own, due to Black Friday and would not resume such activity until December 2nd. Asking to speak to a manager resulted in a (2nd) non-manager telling me the same thing. I tried again but they refused to let me speak to anyone else saying the hold time was over an hour and the result would be the same. Needless to say, the vacuum is being returned and I will no longer be a BestBuy customer.
