I ordered an over-the-range microwave from Best Buy in early January 2016, then called and paid over the phone for installation. The installers arrived, pulled out my existing microwave, unpacked the new microwave, found slight damage and advised me to have it replaced. I called to set up the exchange and got a date a couple of weeks later. The delivery guys came without a new microwave and hauled away the damaged one. I called, was passed around to various people, then finally was told the replacement was back-ordered but I'd get a call at the end of February with a delivery date. I called in early March as I hadn't heard anything, and finally got through to someone who set up a delivery. The new microwave was delivered and I've been trying relentlessly since then to get an appointment for the installation I paid for originally. After several calls and literally hours on hold, I found out it's in their system as still being in transit, so they can't schedule installation. I've tried to find out what act of God is required to change the status but so far no luck. How hard can this be?

Best Buy in Greenville, N.C. Kenhas poor customer service, and support. If you have a problem from their installation, or other, in store, staff will just send you around and around, never correcting their problem on anything. Done with them. It is not the only place to shop.

The store in stockton, ca has the worst phone service ever, i've had Best Buy install stereo systems in both my vehicles, with the installation team headed by Julian, they were great and always had everything done when they said it would be ready, but trying to call the store to get to the instalation bay SUCKS!! They keep you on hold forever over 20 min. at a time, you have to keep calling over and over to get someone to pick up the phone, i tried for over half an hour this last time, when i complained to the girl on the phone she said she was the only answering the phones and she had a lot of customers to help, she was very rude and got mad because i complained, trying to rush me off the phone. I know Best Buy is a multi-million dollar company can't they afford to hire more than one person for their phones??!!!

If you call back repeatedly that only makes the problem worse because you push yourself back further in line. You can always get the extension to the install bay.

I had a terrible experience with the whole process of installation of appliances and changing of damaged merchandise. First, it was my gas range stove. I bought the parts needed for it to be installed, but the installer told me that I needed to change the valvular first before installing; I did what he asked me to do, but he never could come back to do so. Then the microwave came horribly damaged on March 26th and couldn't have it exchanged for a new one until April 2nd. The installation was supposed to be on April 3rd between 3-7pm, but the installer did not come for the appointment. I was restlessly waiting and calling him only to find out that he wouldn't come until 9 pm. At 9 when I finally got someone from Best Buy on the phone, he told me that the installer as well as the installation department, called to reschedule the appointment since nobody was home. Which was not true. They rescheduled it for today, April 8th between 3-7pm, but 12:30 pm today, I received a message from the installer saying that he came by the house to install the microwave, but nobody was there. Well...of course not! The appointment was supposed to be between 3-7pm today. I called Best Buy to ask for help and I spoke with the supervisor of the installation department. He promised me that the installer would be there on time today between 3-7 pm, which did not happen. So, I had to cancel the installation and ask for my money back, since I was rightfully frustrated, after 15 days of waiting for this service. Now I have to find someone else to install the microwave for me, since it is not useful without being installed. I could not get the service that I paid for which is absolutely unacceptable!

High end dishwasher and I'm a Best Buy Elite PLUS member

When I purchased the item online, the website implied that that the old dishwasher would be hauled away and the new one installed. Turns out, the old one can only be hauled away if it is disconnected. Nothing was said when the item was purchased, and it was also implied that the dishwasher would be installed. Delivery person said that this confusion is common as the store's policy is NOT STATED when you are shopping online or during the purchase procedure. If another store included installation in their price, and was higher than Bestbuy, I would still have bought from other store.

Bought all new appliances for a remodeled kitchen. Delivery date came and they were delivered as scheduled, however, the installation was not performed because the existing water valves needed to be 5/8" as well as the gas valve (surprise). In addition, the cabinet where the new microwave was to be installed needed *** uhm... Ok I said. Furthermore, we were told the granite needed to be installed, news to me as I was told whatever I did do not install the granite until afterwards. The installer indicated he would come back as soon as the requirements listed was complete. I paid a hefty sum to ensure the plumber worked over the weekend as well as the granite co. We completed all the requirements by Monday, that was futile as I got tired of calling the installers. I called Best Buy and after 45 minutes on the phone the best they could do was schedule it a week later. Poor service and this will be the last time I ever buy anything at Best Buy.

Rude, unhelpful and unfinished installation | Best Buy in Culver City, California

I bought a Samsung fridge from best buy. It turn out my door hallway is too small. It needs 30' but I barely have the size so the first installer told me to widen my door by half inch. Fair enough, I have a professional carpenter coming to widen the door to 31' wide. Second installer coming today and told me that my door still too small and trying to convince me to get a different fridge. I think he come up with 100 difference reason that the fridge won't fit through my door. Even tough is clearly there is enough room if they are willing to remove the door and draw. He refuses to remove the draw and door because he doesn't know how to remove it. And this is the guy that swears he has 10 years’ experience. While he is trying to tell his supervisor about the problem, I grab a screwdriver and remove the draw in less than 2 minutes. So finally he must feel bad and agree to remove the door. The final straw that made me write this review are three following mistakes. 1. They insist to use body-wrap harness to carry the door over 10 feet even though I told them we can wheel them in. That's what the little wheel under the fridge is for. Why they have to risk the fridge going wobbling instead of simple push. shrug Anyway at this point I gave up and let them do it. And guess what the fridge fit through the hall way door with no problem. 2. They want to leave before we turn on the fridge because; they don’t want to wait for me to put the draw back. Yes, they want me to put back those draw that I removed. After another argument they let me put the draw back. It took me 2 minutes while they just stand back and watch me doing it. 3. They forgot to plug one wire that connects to door check. They even say it’s something wrong with this blinking light but they want to leave anyway. I have to call Samsung customer service and we trouble shoot the problem. The nice lady actually told me what’s wrong with it. I hope other people won't have this problem in the future.

Best Buy: Separate installation for refrig?

We found a good price on an refrigerator, ordered online from best buy and paid for delivery. They charged the credit card one minute later. With order confirmation email we get message that installation is a separate charge done on different day and will be billed extra????? A refrigerator ? Take it out of box, plug it in and take away box. I'm not so old couldn't do on my own but that is insane. Online site says unable to cancel. Called support line and on hold as I type. My estimated 15 minute wait is 20 minutes so far. Stay far far away.

Delivery and install are two different things...the delivery driver is paid to deliver the product not set it up for you.

I am so sorry to hear this. Optima services services all over the United States so there are tons of companies they contract out.

We install for optima in our area and we have issues with communication with the stores so we basically gave all appliance managers and employees out cell phone numbers and they gave us theirs..we try to just cut out optima as a middle man for communication and try to work together to get the customer take care of.

We always call our customers with time frame the night before and we try to accomadate people time requests if possible but best buy seems to have a hard time letting us know those requests. But I'm sorry you had a bad experience
