Resolved: Best Buy - BESTBUY IN STORE PICK-UP SUCKS
I went online today to purchase a headset adapter. My girlfriend said she would stop by and pick it up for me on the way home.
I used the in-store pick-up option to save her time and started the biggest hassle of my life. The short version of this story is DONT USE IN STORE PICK UP. Just go get it yourself and pay for it. When I checked out there was no where to put who would pick it up.
The receipt shows my email address as the person. I called BestBuy customer service because as I read the friends and family plan they wont release to anyone unless they are on the receipt. Customer Service says they used to have the option to change pick up names but dont anymore- however he could add a note to the sale ticket that I have authorized this person to pick them up. They have ID, my credit card #, and their ID is the same address as my bestbuy account.
Well long story short, Wellington, FL Best Buy would not release this $24 adapter to her and he ended up selling her the one he pulled for me. Now I have paid for the item twice- and I go to log in and it says I cant cancel the item because its been processed for pickup. If I dont pick it up within 8 days it will automatically cancel. What a freaking joke.
Bestbuy you need to get your *** in a group and have associates that can do enough on hand due diligence to make a risk management decision. It is likely someone with all of this info who has contacted customer service is trying to pull a fast one on you for a headset adapter, or more likely you are about to *** off a long time customer who next time will use Amazon?
Reason of review: Order processing issue.
Monetary Loss: $24.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Best Buy Cons: Instore pickup.
Location: Wellington, Florida
