Best Buy is no Future Shop
I paid the full $599. for this iPad mini plus an extended warrantee.
Although Best Buy owned Future shop they were operated in very different ways, especially regarding customer service and tech support. A loyal Future Shop customer for many years, I had such a bad experience with my local store once it became Best Buy, that I have been boycotting them for over a year. I had bought a $650. iPad from them with an an extended warrantee, four months later it stopped charging, so no longer usable, Best Buy refused to honor their warrantee, they kept the iPad for a month, they finally said Apple didn't cover this type of problem and neither would they. I told them to find a solution to this, but I refused to leave them my iPad again. They never even bothered to phone me back with any solution or follow up. Fed up, I went to the Apple Store, told them my story, and they promptly gave me a new iPad (no charge whatsoever). I now buy my electronics from several suppliers, whichever has the best price plus the best warrantee reputation for each item.Good riddance Best Buy!

Best Buy Cons: Worst experience possible, On your own aftersale service or rather, Useless waratee, Condescending geek sqad, Hostile store manager, Rude customer service staff.
