I don't really care about any of the other parts of this complaint, I have never dealt with Best Buy for anything like this so I won't try to say anything one way or the other. But I do want to comment on your update specifically the "Wow, so much for Freedom of Speech." statement, and all I want to tell you is this is the internet you have no freedom of speech on anyone's website, if they want to remove and censor their site guess what they can. I'm not saying its right that they would remove negative stuff related to them on their site but just realize its their forum therefore they have the power, your rights mean nothing on their site or anyone else's.

Horrible service | Best Buy in Randallstown, Maryland

Horrible, shameless service. I wanted to replace my car stereo and ordered a new one plus 2 necessary parts for the installation. I wanted to pay cash but was told that I have to buy a gift card to speed up the order. The ordering took no less than 30 minutes. I had to make two trips to pick up the parts which came separately. Each time I had to wait in line to pick up the parts. On the day of the install, I took time off from work and dutifully came in at the scheduled parts. An hour later (after the tech attempted to install) the tech told me that the install would disable my factory GPS. They did not mention this at the time of the order. After another 20 minutes at the customer service line, I was told that because I purchased a gift card, the refund would not be made in cash but would be applied to a debit card. 24 hours later the money is still not in my account... A complaint to the store manager resulted in "sorry, there is nothing I can do." What a waste of time!!!!

Best Buy - Installation Review from Little Elm, Texas

Bad experience with Best Buy installers ! They damaged my wall, caused a severe leak in my utility room ! I requested they pay for the damages caused by the poor installers and they have been giving me the run around since FEBRUARY ! BEST BUY uses a third party to settle claims and they are HORRIBLE !!!! They say they will call you back but NEVER do , that is until I called corporate - then I get a call back ! I hope to eventually solve this but will never buy anything from BEST BUY That require installation -

High end dishwasher and I'm a Best Buy Elite PLUS member

When I purchased the item online, the website implied that that the old dishwasher would be hauled away and the new one installed. Turns out, the old one can only be hauled away if it is disconnected. Nothing was said when the item was purchased, and it was also implied that the dishwasher would be installed. Delivery person said that this confusion is common as the store's policy is NOT STATED when you are shopping online or during the purchase procedure. If another store included installation in their price, and was higher than Bestbuy, I would still have bought from other store.

BestBuy poor customer service | Best Buy in Franklin, North Carolina

My wife paid for a car stereo to be installed with speakers for my birthday. BB sent an email that they would cancel the order Monday. I replied that I had a Saturday installation plus called the store. No problem I was told as it was in their computer system. What about the installation dept. I asked? Back there the tech. couldn't find my purchase order number since they don't have access to BB computer system(?). On Saturday I found out that the order was cancelled but I could pay for it again. Left the car and got a call later that they didn't have the dash kit for my vehicle (Toyotas are rare, right) but they could order me one and I could drive another 100 mile round trip for them to install it. The store manager seemed to think it was my fault since I hadn't ordered a dash kit (no one mentioned it and it was not noted on the BB website). Perhaps if I ran a business that installed car stereos I might have need of dash kits but that's just crazy talk. Read a few reviews and at least I wasn't as screwed over as the customers who actually bought stuff there. Beware WorstBuy.

Satillite Radio Installation Problems | Best Buy

Please refer to case number 143896146 I purchased a Satellite Radio from Best Buy Rochester MN and had it installed at the same store. The installation person told me that the location I wanted to have the radio place would violate the law even though I had the same model radio installed in my other Civic of the same year and model at the Best Buy in Mankato several months earlier. He told me that they should not have put the radio where they did and also that the Garmin I had on my dash and the video camera on the windshield were also in violation of the Law. He then proceeded to tell me the places I could have it put. None of the places were satisfactory to me but I needed it installed. I had him place in in one of the open storage compartments which then reduced the storage space of that unit and part of a second storage place. While waiting for the installation to be completed, I Googled the MN law on window obstruction and discovered what he had told me was incorrect and that I could have had it installed in the place I originally want it and the same place that the Mankato store had installed my other radio. I mentioned this to the installer and all I got was "I'm sorry". This morning when I got into my car I noticed that the radio had partially fallen from the storage unit making it impossible to change stations, etc because the "double sided" tape used to hold the radio up did not have the strength to do so. Had the installer put the radio where I wanted it there would have been not problems. I am now faced with a radio where I did not want it and also unable to change stations, etc without holding the radio up. Naturally I am very upset to say the least about the entire encounter and the blatant attitude of the installer. Now that I am aware of the untruths I had been told and the present status of the installation I want the radio reinstalled in the place I originally wanted it. I do not want to go back to the Rochester BB and prefer the Mankato BB installer. Please realize that Rochester is a 80 mile round trip and Mankato is a 140 mile round trip. My original installation date was also postponed to the next day which caused me more trips as I had business to conduct in Rochester on the original installation date and would have only to make one trip rather than two trips. I feel it is reasonable to re-reimburse me for the additional mileage and trip due to the situation caused by the BB Rochester installer. I also talked to a Corporate person on this (see case number) and she told me to go to the website "BestBuyCares.com" to file the complaint. There is no complaint area in this website only survey areas. I already have filed the survey which basically says the same thing as above before discovering the unsatisfactory installation. I have a picture of the radio in its present position if you would like to see it. Lost my purchase and no one will call back, store personnel nice but helpless | Best Buy in High Point, North Carolina

Best buy had the lowest price for a large built in microwave I needed to replace so I went there. I had two deliveries of a built in Microwave with the wrong installation kit (the frame that holds it in the wall opening) fit in the cabinet space but did not go with the Microwave. They tried to charge me separate installation fees twice, fought me every step of the way and never apologized. All in all, it was a 120 day ordeal I would not want to repeat. When I replaced the washer and dryer and the refrigerator, I went elsewhere. However, I thought lightning could not strike twice when I saw a top of the line LG Stainless Steel Dishwasher for sale there so I held my breath and bought it. Now no one knows where it is. It is not in the store, the warehouse or the back of a truck. The delivery company told me “It happens all the time with BestBuy, don’t worry, sooner or later it will turn up”. I called the corporate office since the "store manager" would not return calls (They transfer you to a call center when you ask for the store manager) and they flat out refused to give a me a first name, a phone number or even an email for the local District Manager. Hold times are between 20 and 41 minutes. Over half the calls were dropped AFTER the call wait while being transferred to another representative. Thank goodness I just put the calls on speaker phone and go about my business but despite multiple requests, I have not received a single call back and it has been over a week. This company may be in some sort of trouble in my opinion. The local store personnel are very nice and even helpful but once an item leaves the store, they are helpless. Corporate has a level of apathy that borders on disdain and the customer is left seething. I would not buy anything there that you cannot carry out the store to your car.

Best Buy - Installation Review from Richmond, Virginia

If you are ever getting new appliances, don't use best buy! Their website is impossible to use and delivery does not include installation. Installation is also done by a third party that is different from the one that delivers. Have fun getting it all scheduled. And it cost $140 bucks for them to install a dishwasher. This was after I specifically chatted with a "customer service rep" on the website when I ordered AND VERIFIED IT WAS INCLUDED. Save yourself the hassle. I only got installation set for the same day as delivery because I threw a fit.

Rude, unhelpful and unfinished installation | Best Buy in Culver City, California

I bought a Samsung fridge from best buy. It turn out my door hallway is too small. It needs 30' but I barely have the size so the first installer told me to widen my door by half inch. Fair enough, I have a professional carpenter coming to widen the door to 31' wide. Second installer coming today and told me that my door still too small and trying to convince me to get a different fridge. I think he come up with 100 difference reason that the fridge won't fit through my door. Even tough is clearly there is enough room if they are willing to remove the door and draw. He refuses to remove the draw and door because he doesn't know how to remove it. And this is the guy that swears he has 10 years’ experience. While he is trying to tell his supervisor about the problem, I grab a screwdriver and remove the draw in less than 2 minutes. So finally he must feel bad and agree to remove the door. The final straw that made me write this review are three following mistakes. 1. They insist to use body-wrap harness to carry the door over 10 feet even though I told them we can wheel them in. That's what the little wheel under the fridge is for. Why they have to risk the fridge going wobbling instead of simple push. shrug Anyway at this point I gave up and let them do it. And guess what the fridge fit through the hall way door with no problem. 2. They want to leave before we turn on the fridge because; they don’t want to wait for me to put the draw back. Yes, they want me to put back those draw that I removed. After another argument they let me put the draw back. It took me 2 minutes while they just stand back and watch me doing it. 3. They forgot to plug one wire that connects to door check. They even say it’s something wrong with this blinking light but they want to leave anyway. I have to call Samsung customer service and we trouble shoot the problem. The nice lady actually told me what’s wrong with it. I hope other people won't have this problem in the future.

Bought all new appliances for a remodeled kitchen. Delivery date came and they were delivered as scheduled, however, the installation was not performed because the existing water valves needed to be 5/8" as well as the gas valve (surprise). In addition, the cabinet where the new microwave was to be installed needed *** uhm... Ok I said. Furthermore, we were told the granite needed to be installed, news to me as I was told whatever I did do not install the granite until afterwards. The installer indicated he would come back as soon as the requirements listed was complete. I paid a hefty sum to ensure the plumber worked over the weekend as well as the granite co. We completed all the requirements by Monday, that was futile as I got tired of calling the installers. I called Best Buy and after 45 minutes on the phone the best they could do was schedule it a week later. Poor service and this will be the last time I ever buy anything at Best Buy.
