First of all, contrary to most people's assumptions, companies are not allowed to ask for ID just because you use a credit card. A good rule of thumb is if you could buy it from them with cash without showing ID, they can't require you to in order to use a...

Yeah Matt and Mark are both *** They think they know everything and yell and scream when they don't get their way. Matt is now a realtor (can you imagine? he told lies to sell computers I'm sure it hasn't stop with selling houses) Mark is supposedly the general manager at a Best Buy in Hawaii (highly doubtful)

Best Buy in South Bend, Indiana - Gift cards

Best buy sent me an online add to fill out one offer site and I would receive a $1,000.00 gift card. I did exactly what they required and never received my gift card. This company is awesome at false advertising!! Why do they keep getting away with this type of service? This is my second time of dealing with a rotten deal with best buy, and I'm really sick of it!! I'm planning to communicate with the owners and to stand outside the local best buy to let customers know what they might be dealing with.

It is a scam. Happens every Christmas time.

Someone fakes an advertisement or flyer from Best Buy and sends these to people. This is not Best Buy.

Best Buy in Milford, Connecticut - Black friday sale at bestbuy

I am a new homeowner who moved in the town of Milford at the month of October 2012. As a new homeowner we need new things for our home to share with family and friends. For two weeks I'm been looking on the world wide web for the best flat screen television deals on Black Friday. If it would be either an online purchase or actually standing outside before store opens as I do every year. Many had great advertising deals for Black Friday on flat screen tvs. Well the electronic store Bestbuy advertised the deal I was looking for, which was a Samsung - 55" Class (54-5/8" diag.) – LED – 1080p - 240hz - HDTV for only $799. The model number #UN55EH6001FXZA with SKU:6846823. I was so excited I couldn't wait to purchase to tv. As I mentioned before, I was looking for a tv. A tv that was bigger than 50" and more importantly with more than 120hz. This was the tv I wanted in my new home. I saw that I had the option to purchase item on Bestbuy's website. So I used my credit card by purchasing it with utter happiness on Thanksgiving morning. My order details of my online receipt matches the description of the television. Took a ride to Bestbuy in Orange, CT to purchase wall mount. While I was there I decided to walk near the tv section and noticed there were many on pallet. The advertisement was plain as day right on top of the boxes of television, "$799 for Samsung - 55" Class (54-5/8" diag.) – LED – 1080p - 240hz - HDTV for only $799". My I also add what I thing is more important is the box says… Samsung - 55" Class (54-5/8" diag.) – LED – 1080p - 240hz – HDTV. So I cancelled my delivery, changed it to pick-up and took it home with me. Early Friday morning I went to work and bragged to my friends I got the best deal for $799. Well my best buddy Chris bought a television Friday on Bestbuy website too. The problem was his purchase description says… Samsung - 55" Class (54-5/8" diag.) – LED – 1080p - 120hz - HDTV for only $799. His model number for his order is…#UN55EH6001FXZA with SKU:6846823. How can this be, two identical model numbers with two different descriptions? After realized I have been ripped off, I called Samsung customer service for answers. I told Samsung the model number I have is 120hz which does not match the box description. After an hour trying to solve issue Samsung hung up on me. The next step, I called Bestbuy and told them the same thing. I was transferred to an Agent from customer care and he admitted it was a mistake. He suggested I bring back tv and get money back. The problem is I was scammed in thinking I purchased a tv with 240hz but instead 120hz. Now that Christmas is so near, all the best deals are gone. This is not how to treat a customer and I feel I was cheated. From pissed off customer, Alan nautic411@msn.com

Best Buy in Pasadena, Maryland - Feeling cheated and betrayed

I was all excited about the Black Friday sales BB had according to their ads. I wasn't about to go into the store so I decided I would be limited to online deals only. With this limitation, I was considering the following: Roku Insignia 26 inch tv $99 Toshiba 50 inch tv $399 It was never made clear when the sales would actually start. I woke up at 4 AM Thursday morning and proceeded to make my purchase. First disappointment, the Toshiba deal was an in-store only offer, even though it never mentioned that in the ad and clearly showed it after the "online only" section. I read over it another few times since and think BB should have done a better job labeling if they wanted to limit it to an in store only sale. Disappointment #2- I had my roku and 26 inch Insignia in my cart and was ready to check out. I put in all of my information and went to the final processing screen but received an error. It stated that the tv was no longer available, meaning I could not proceed with my order. I didn't understand why they would allow me to add it to my cart if the item was unavailable. I ended having to remove it and buy a smaller tv for a higher price. Talk about being pissed! After my purchase, I vowed BB would not get another cent from me ever. Their Black Friday sales lost them a customer for life!

I believe you completely. Best Buy is notorius for bait and switch tactics during sales.

They use certain items as bait but they are conveniently no longer available when you go to check out. They do this hoping you will buy a more expensive item.

I also suspect the sources of a couple of comments. I agree that Best Buy has become worst buy and their standing in Consumer Reports shows that.

Online ordering is different than in the store. Their inventory is not subracted until someone actually pays. So when you're online, just because you have it in your cart, doesn't mean it's yours.

Your lying, you got the wrong TV and wanted it at another TVs price, and now your all pissy that you couldnt scam best buy. Go cry somewhere else.

Best Buy in Atlanta, Georgia - Black Firday Bait & Switch on computer package

ok well I just noticed that I fell victim to a bait & switch scam by Best Buy. I received a ticket for that exact package and received something else entirely. This package is advertised at $499 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+Inspiron+I660S- /> I decided to buy that package and after waiting for over 5 hours online I received a ticket for that package. What I was actually sold was different. I was sold a crappier computer with the same monitor under the guise of a doorbuster deal. Here is what I received http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+Inspiron+Desk /> Again, here is what I was expecting and what I still want. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+Inspiron+Desk /> Do I have any reproach here or was I blatantly scammed?

If you paid by credit card (obviously) call back and tell them to cancel the order. Tell them that you will file a complaint with the GA State's Attorney's Office accusing Best Buy with the bait and switch if they send you the wrong package.

Also you have recourse with your credit card company.

Best Buy in Taylor, Michigan - Cancelled item ordered 11/28, two days before Christmas

I ordered a blue ray player Sunday prior to cyber Monday, still didn't have 11/23 only to receive an email that they had cancelled my order. I even called two weeks prior to this, stayed on hold for 20mins while waiting for a service rep, who confirmed that it was back ordered but I should have it in two weeks. Then of course, I get this email stating , sorry, your order is cancelled. If you were going to cancel this, did it really take you 3.5 weeks to do this??? Thanks, now I have new blue rays for my children on Christmas that they won't be able to watch. Who wants to deal with the mall chaos, this is why I ordered on line, Thanks a lot!!!

Anon can't help it. He's a sad BestBuy employee who makes excuses rather than fessing up. That's why they'll be bankrupt within 2 years and their shares dropped 40% in 2011.

This post is for Anon I am sure if you were a business owner and wanted to keep your customer happy you would have provided an alternative, granted these things happen.just imagine your toilet overflowing and I cancelled my appointment without any notice now is that fair to you, so don't be so quick with the excuses. :)

I wouldn't be so quick to blame this on bestbuy. They may have been told they were receiving more from the manufacturer and they did not follow through. Happens all the time.

Best to Pass on Best Buy

I was told by the third party repair vendor hired by "Best Buy" they would not honor my appointment because they could not verifi my address via an email/phone call I never received. I was told that there would be a $45 fee to remove my 50" tv unit from the wall, even though its unhooked and just needs to be lifted from the wall a 5 second job. I see a few things going on here 1. Best Buy has given the wrong information about a repair to this third party vendor so many times they dont trust the information they get from best buy. 2. the third party vendor drops so many TV on the ground they have to charg each person $45. If they are breaking even on this it means they drop 1 out of 45 units (based on a $2000 average unit cost) Neither of these sounds like a company I want to deal with. Bottom line Best Buy or anywhere, If a company does wrong by a customer and they are unwilling to make it right it simply means they make this mistake so often they cant afford to make it right, you should shop elsewhere. Best Buy has lost me as a customer.

BEST BUY- SEEKONK, MA

I AM SO ANGRY WITH THIS STORE!!!!! I AM EXTREMELY BUSY AND PLACED AND ORDER ONLINE SO I COULD EASILY PICK IT UP WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE AND THEN WAIT IN THE REGULAR LINE. I WAITED AT THE "PICK UP" LINE FOR OVER 15 MIINUTES WHILE A EMPLOYEE FLIRTED WITH TWO GIRLS THAT HE WAS CASHING OUT (THEY WERE NOT PICKING UP AN ONLINE ORDER- HE ACTUALLY SAID TO THEM THAT HE WOULD "HELP THEM THERE SO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE HASSLE AT THE REGISTERS". WHEN HE WAS DONE WITH THE TWO CUSTOMER HE WALKED AWAY. I ASKED HIM IF HE WAS WORKING IN THIS AREA AND HE TOLD ME NO. I TOLD HIM I WAS THERE TO PICK UP AN ONLINE ORDER AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE COULDN'T HELP ME AND TO GO WAIT IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE. AS I WAITED IN THE PICK UP LINE FOR 20 MINUTES AND WATCHED CUSTOMERS COME AND GO FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE, I THEN WENT TO WAIT IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE. FINALLY, I WAS ASSISTED AND RECEIVED NO APPOLOGY FROM EITHER OF THE EMPLOYEES. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE JUST WITNESSED!!!!!!! I AM ASTONISHED HOW POORLY THE EMPLOYEES TREAT THERE CUSTOMERS! BEST BUY, I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU! AWFUL.

Well, they're closing ALL their 11 UK stores - which first opened on April 30, 2010 in UK - They planned on opening 200 store but they never had a chance against their UK competitors. "Challenging economic conditions and profit expectations of these stores, Best Buy Europe is announcing that it plans to close all 11 of these stores effective at the end of the calendar year"

There is NO need to keep your caps lock on. That only annoys people and makes them not want to read your complaint.

Well, join the crowd of people fleeing BestBuy. They really no longer have anything resembling "customer service"----------and don't seem to care! Shop elsewhere, and probably cheaper.
