Don't use a debit/credit card there-Best Buy

My credit card was charged twice for the same item purchased 11/17/2012. I was told by Best Buy customer care that "one was for the purchase authorization hold" and the "other was for the sale itself". The hold would not be released until 12/25/2012! My cedit card is going to charge interest on a Hold Transaction.. This is surely a scam. Imagine a million customers in this situation. How much interest is going to charged? Who gets the money? Is there a kickback scheme going on? They'll have my money for about 37 days. they said someone will call back. Yeah!

Holding is common. But also, they DO make money on your money durring the hold!

A"hold" is a common pratice and you should not be charged interest on it. Call the bank of your credit card if unsure.

Rude rob yelled at my 82yr old mom and I | Best Buy in Springfield, Illinois

On 9/22/12 at 5:30 pm at the best buy in springfield, Illinois on veterans pkwy. Rob in the cell phone dept confronted my mom and I very rudely and unprofessional. I had just purchased the HTC one x cell phone by at&t and recieved my first bill for$626.88. Rob told me my first bill would be a (little) high but I didnt expect a mortgage payment. Anyway rob was with a customer and another sales person tried to help me and he took my bill and showed it to rob and right away he started being very rude and raising his voice to both my mom and I before I even said a word. A manager finally came around and he was still raising his voice with me while the manager was there. The only reason I kept my cool was because my mom was there and I respect her. My mom worked retail at Macy's for 20 yrs and said if any employee acted like to a customer they would be gone. Long story short; Rob didnt set the phone up right in the first place thats why I got an outragous bill.He had my mobile to mobile calls set up as landline calls.So from there I proceeded to the nearest at&t store and they researched everything and determined whomever set up the phone (ROB), messed up and at&t is going to take care of ROB'S incompitence.Anyway, I would like for Rob to apologize to my mom because he basically called her a liar to her face. Myself, I am not worried about. I just know that no one deserves to be talked to that way, especially when they are wrong.He also explained to me and my mom both saying my monyhly bill woild only be $80/mo before taxes and then he told us both that he got it down to 64/mo before taxes. I now know that both of those figures are false however I like the phone alot. The issue here is you have a very rude salesperson who needs to apologize for his rude actions.

the first bill is typically more expensive but nowhere near that much. I think I had an activation fee and maybe one other thing and that was about it on my first Verizon bill.

Delivered the wrong refrigerator 90 minutes late | Best Buy in Baltimore, Maryland

After 7 service calls in 18 months, I was allowed to return an LG refrigerator under the "no lemon" policy. The salesman helped us pick out a new refrigerator and sent us to customer service. The customer service rep at the Columbia, MD store did not know what she was doing, so the process took over an hour. We had to wait 17 days for the new frig to be delivered. I was called a few days beforehand and told the delivery would take place between 4 and 6 pm. At 6:30 on delivery day, I called and was told they would check on the truck. After staying on hold for 30 minutes, a different rep told me the truck was 15 minutes away. After the delivery men finally left, I opened the frig and realized it was the wrong one! I immediately called customer service and was told I had to take care of it in the store. I spent over an hour at the store with an appliance representative. Bottom line, the refrigerator I was shown no longer exists. I have to suck it up and keep a refrigerator I don't want. I'll never purchase another appliance at Best Buy!

Sold a LEMON and they dont care!!! | Best Buy in Westminster, Colorado

On 3/14/2012 I purchased a 40" Best Buy Brand (Dynex) TV. Exactly 90 days later (June 14th) it DIED! Just died. I had it plugged into the surge protector that the sales rep sold me. This area had not had a storm, nor a power interuption. The store was incredibly rude (Josh- Store Manager at Tulsa Memorial Drive Location). I had to call a Geek Squad line that told me the TV would be repaired but not for 10 days. Plus I have to take a half day off work to sit around and wait for their technician to come and service the TV. I am a single mom and this is the only TV that I have. I work very hard and the $450 that I spent on this purchase took me three months to save for. The store didnt care a single bit, even said "you may have done something to break the TV, and if so we will do nothing to help you". I have a 10 month old child and it is only he and I in the house (no pets). I keep a perfectly clean house and have not done a single thing to the TV, but turn it off and on. It is beyond believable that it is OK to sell someone a product (piece of junk) that only lasts 90 days and then treat the customer like they did something wrong. I will NEVER spend another dime at BEST BUY----EVER!!!!!

@TomBBY. The Geek squad repair man came to my home and repaired the TV. He stated that the Dynex model that I purchased was defective on a wide spread basis. He stated that he had personally repaired over 15 of the exact same unit within the last 60-days. He was an incredibly nice man, but also was prompt to inform me that he was not an employee of Best Buy. He stated that hears many complaints about Best Buy and the customer service (or lack there of) that it provides.

@Simon...Yes, many companies have a 90-day return policy; however, some companies care about their customers. Many companies will work to help their customers vs. blame them. For instance, I had an absolutely fabulous experience with Staples a while back. They took care of a computer that was malfunctioning. They did it with care, grace, and concern for the fact that I am a paying customer.

Lesous First of all your a *** you cant sue a company for not taking a return after 90 days specially when its on your receipt and clearly says on the the back that the return policy is 30 days.This is considered a legal binding contract fuq tart.

Second of all they do sell a warranty to protect the unit in store so if you didn't purchase it shame on you blame your self foe being one of those people.This will teach you

3rd of all as Simon said call the manufacture that's who as to warranty the TV not best buy and because its a best buy only brand doesn't mean there is blue shirts making the TV in the ware house so NO they are not responsible to what happens to your TV after 30 days.

Where will you shop now that will allow you to return a TV after 90 days? Make sure to boycott all stores with the same policy (which is every store in the country).

You have a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer. Call them.

I wanna buy a TV on Bestbuy.com. but they just show the price at check out, *** THAT, bestbuy just let you know the price when you purchase some *** *** from them, what the *** , *** sucking bestbuy. I have never seen anything like this before, normally, at other sites , i just need to add it in the shopping cart then I can see the price, but Bestbuy want you to add it in the cart, then log in to check out, they will show you the price, *** , i just cant image they like to cheat customers like that , i dont *** care about what the price they give but it *** suck, *** you bestbuy

and even if you couldn't see the price of the TV until checkout, it's not like you actually had to buy the TV to see the price so calm down. oh and learn how to type at least a little better.

Dissed @ best buy

I'm very dissatisfied with waiting such a long wait @ pick up from an online order. This was even worse than the wait at Christmas time when there were actually customers in line. I was the only person picking up & there were only a few customers in the whole store. felt I was being ignored even as employees knew I was there waiting to be helped. only one employee already helping another customer in a nearby dept. seemed interested in helping me by trying to contact someone else to help me. He had noticed how long I had been waiting. He was the only employee that seemed to care & seemed to be the only one there in the area that was actually working like they should. It took 20 mins. before I was helped then 10 mins. to get the product I had ordered. It had to be located then the employee had to go to the back of the store & get it & bring it to the front of the store. I was ready to walk out & go to Walmart just from waiting for so long. they had one more minute left before I would leave & that was even before I was actually helped. I feel I should have left anyway. I could have gone to Walmart, chose the product I wanted, put it in my shopping cart, checked out, & left the store in less time it took @ bestbuy pickup right at the front door! I'm completely dissatisfied. This will affect future purchases.

@ Best Buy - Carolina Mall Nc , 10600 Centrum Parkway, Pineville, NC 28134-8810 (704) 543-4575 Don't trust the words of some of the sales representatives at this Best Buy!!! I recently bought a sprint data card from best buy, the sales person who sold clearly told me that I can return the device in next 30 days and I won't have any issues with the contract. For some personal reasons I wanted to return the device and when I took it to the shop, I was told that the contract has already started with Sprint and as per sprint policy I should have returned the device within 14 days else sprint would charge me a $250 early termination. Unfortunately I was in my 15th day and after a long discussion everything seems to be useless. I also tried calling sprint but again it's useful for nothing. I had to raise my voice due to my frustration and the lady who was handling me told that DON'T YELL IN THE SHOP. I don't know what else frustrated customer do on earth in this situation (probably she might be thinking that Best buy customer would take whatever talks their sales reps would do against their customers) So ultimately the lesson learned "Best Buy customers please be aware at this shop, read the return policy even though the sales reps explain it 1000 times, they may lie to increase the profit of the shop and they don't care about any their customers.

I am not sure how Best Buy will stay in business with the people they hire to push their products. I went to the store in Tukwila, WA yesterday to pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note (upgrade)- even though the phone was advertised as being able to pre-order on that day, their system was down.

I was told to call back today 2/6. I call as they were opening - someone named Karina said she would call me back they were waiting for their system to boot up. I waited over an hour - then called them back and asked for the person that had told me she would call me back. I got a gentleman that helped me finish my pre-order finally but in the back ground I could hear a female voice sarcastically mimicking my voice as I had asked for Karina.

Now if these employees cannot be anymore discrete than this and not be openly rude, they really do deserve to lose their jobs.

I will pick up my phone but will never visit this store again. My customer dollars do NOT need to go to paying someone to be rude to me.
