Geek Squad | Best Buy review from Calgary, Alberta

I was sold wireless services and protection and was told that it didn't matter what happened to the phone even if it had water damage or the screen was broken it would be replaced for free. Today I learned it is $119 or $100 depending on the agent you are talking to plus my monthly insurance payment to fix a screen on a iphone 5S that I can go anywhere to have fixed for the same price. If you are going to take this insurance please read page 4 of the brochure in the fine print at the bottom. Any other iphone issues are covered by Apple for the first year.

Returns - POOOr service | Best Buy review from Calgary, Alberta

I had a well executed wish list from my son with many Best Buy items linked in to it - so I went to the store Christmas eve with it and their website was down!~ so the staff was not able to tell from the link what the kid wanted. We guessed wrong. So - boxing day we try to return and they tell me at the store - nope, sorry, no can do. No returns until January 4th. So the kid has no Christmas. Thanks a lot Best Buy. Really?

Credit card Issue | Best Buy review from Edmonton, Alberta

on November 3rd I wrote this e-mail to customer service > on October 3rd 2015 I made a purchase from South common Best buy of $83.97. the minute I had the card in the system froze so we had to do the transaction again. The sales person said that if I am double charged to go back and they will refund the money. Of course I got double charged, and not that seems to be the problem, the problem is I keep going to the store to have my transaction fixed and they say "No the bank will do it"; second time "No they will change it automatically"; third time "If you still see it this month come back with the products and will make a refund". Today I decided to call the bank and the bank told me that I have to go back to the store (for the 4th time) and they need to cancel a plan in order for the bank to cancel one transaction. > All I need is someone at best buy who knows what they are doing to help me solve this problem. Am I asking for too much? > Thank you! As you can see I am writing you again and again and again. My problem still hasn't been solved. They are keep sending me back an fort. best buy blames the bank the bank blames best buy. I do not care who is the guilty person all I want is that charge of my credit card. It was so easy to make a mistake I am asking you now: Why is that hard to fix that mistake?

Best Buy - Cell Phone Review from Calgary, Alberta

Details
I went to bestbuy mobile in chinook center, calgary, alberta. There were 2 staff serving 2 customers at the time i got there. I waited for 10 minutes and finally someone asked how they could help. I needed to purchase outright a pay as you go phone. I was told to wait 10-15 minutes. 45 minutes later i was sighing and displaying my frustration. The other associate saw my frustration and asked what i needed. I told him and he opened the case to see they were out of stock. He went back to helping the customer and i asked if he could please call another store to see if they have one. It was now 40 minutes before closing. He called southcenter and got no response and couldnt tell me if they had any. Long story short i ripped over to southcenter mall and was going to bestbuy when i saw another mobile boutique by a totally different company. They had my phone in stock and were very fast at selling it to me. Bestbuy lost my business on this sale and i would NEVER RETURN. Its also worth mentioning while i was waiting at bestbuy i would guess about another 5 customers came to the line and got fed up at waiting and not even being asked if they could be helped and they left the store before me. The service was awful and you are losing tons of business the way you are operating. This is absolutely rediculous service.

Price matching only offered in the form of free Geek Squad | Best Buy review from Calgary, Alberta

Friday, January 23, 2015 I went to the Best Buy Store at West Hills in Calgary… with the intention of buying a Sony TV (On sale for $2,099 in the Flyer that ended January 22) and was told by the sales clerk that TV was no longer on sale. I showed him the Sony Flyer (Sony had it on sale for $2,199), he said he could match that but he would be matching it by giving me the Geek Squad package. I told him no. I would like this TV at yesterday’s price of $2,099 and was not interested in the Geek Squad package; as I would be buying additional products (a sound bar) not on sale. He said no. I asked if I could speak with the manager that day, which he brought over… The manager told me she could not give me yesterday’s price… I said so you are unconcerned about losing a $4000 sale for … what again… $100 difference on a TV that was on sale for that price the previous day? She said yes… I left… went directly to Visions where they promptly accommodated me.

Good job making demands when you know you were wrong. I bet they love helping idiots like you.

if the flyer ended than the price is sale is over, so complaining that they won't honor an old price is foolish, stores aren't around to barter on prices. I will agree however that their claim that they'd only price match by throwing in the geeksquad services is a little odd.

Can't contact head office | Best Buy review from Calgary, Alberta

Details
"I live in Calgary, 2 separate ads for an item was in their flyer, regular $400 for $50 off. Turns out in both ads no locations stock the item & when I phone locations & customer service they can't see their warehouse inventory or order the item, or bring it in from another store. I asked for contact info of head office and the only way to contact them in snail mail! No email address. Maybe they should hire Geek Squad to show them how to use email. If you shop her or Future Shop you should expect no customer service. Save yourself grief & hassles & do NOT SHOP AT BESTBUY or FUTURE SHOP!

@Tom

No email address to contact or phone #to HO, just a customer service line with people who have no idea of what they are talking about & don't know how to contact HO other than snail mail.

Maybe hire an Internet company to set up a email address for head office?

Dont purchase Warranty for Tv's!!!!! | Best Buy review from Calgary, Alberta

I bought a tv about three years ago. LG, plasma 50inch. With 5 year Warranty. The tv started shutting off on its own, randomly. I had LG come and replace the main baord. Still not working and now it was under best buy at this time. I called customer service which were i was treated very rudely too. I was set up for geek squad to come fix the problem. Two men came off and on for over 6 months. Replacing 4 parts. They still could not firgure it out. One was an older gentlemen and a younger one. The younger one treated me as though i did not know anything because i was a female. Funny, how he still could not do his job and fix my tv. Either way he continued to act as though he could not give me the go ahead to get a new tv because he did not know what to tell the insurance company. Not only that he acted as though it was money coming out of his own pocket. I finally after 18 months of this going on i threathened to go to our local news consumer watch to let people know where their warranty money was going, nowehere.Just the thought of what i went through is a nightmare and makes me wanna cry thinking about. I was told by the deerfoot meadows manager they would contact geek swad and see why this was going on for so long. I never heard back. The amount of people that had come through my home and seen what was going on was enough marketing on best buy alone. Dont waste your time or money or Sanity!!!!!

Next time buy a TV from Costco with their extended warranty. Good prices and less grief.

@No Best Buy

Agreed - Costco is one of the few places that actually goes BEYOND their return/exchange poolicy without any kind of hassle. I have purchased electronics, mattresses, and auto parts that I returned successfully without any issue, with good reason - all outside the timeframe in which I was supposed to be allowed. Great service!

Iphone 6 Screen Cover Review

I visited my local Besy buy today looking for a case and a screen cover. I was looking at the glass screen cover and it clearly said FOR IPHONE 6 on the tag above the package. I went home to put the screen cover on my iPhone 6 and it's for the iPhone 6 Plus. Great store organization Best buy.

Return Policy Review

Bought a Nokia lumia 1020 from Best buy west Edmonton. Phone acted glitchy right away then it worked fine. Of course it became unusable 4 days after their 15 DAY return policy. Went to best buy & the guy helping us went to speak to his manager to figure out if they would so a straight exchange or get their "Geek Squad" to diagnose the phone. About 10 mins later guy returns to say his manager says there isn't anything they can do since it was just past the 15 days.asked to speak to manager who had his best poker face on, absolutely void of a single emotion. This is our policy. What happened to diagnosing the phone? Of they don't look at windows phones. Why did we get referred to speak with your geek squad if you can't diagnose it? For $60 we can do it. WHAT?! I Is that not contradictory tto what you just told us? They take SELECT items back after 30 days. How do you select which items you are willing to take back? Oh TV's etc...Apparently if you have a disability they will give you 30 days to return a phone. WOW. We went to the South common Edmonton location believing we could exchange defective phone for a new one. It wasn't in Stock at the west end location. We were told we should have bought the extended warranty. Yes clearly it is our fault tht a $700 phone needs an extention over 15 days! 19 days after purchase, customer service was not only completely rude but continued to place the blame on us for not returning it before 15 days were up. So on day 16 they would hve told us to deal with manufacturer. They are not interested in making customers happy or solving issues tht should not BE an issue. Very frustrating to hve a 700 phone tht doesn't work & activated only 19 days ago. I am shocked.
