Best Buy: In It For Them, Not You

Just got off the phone with a customer service rep who nice but, of course cannot deviate from Best Buy's (SELFISH, MONEY-GRABBING) policy of "No Returns or Exchanges" AFTER 15 DAYS- the worst . Not sure what the Holidays policy is but make sure you know that this is their hard and fast policy at this time and, to my knowledge, at all times (possible excepting the Holiday Season). Regarding the product, I was able to finally obtain a Netgear (Nuance) phone # that actually worked! as the BBuy customer service rep gave me that number- the one I had found on the website did not go through. In fact, Nuance will, like many organizations now- do everything possible to NOT provide their number easily, imo. I clicked on the "Contact Us by Phone" field and still did not arrive at a site where the number was listed- how disingenuous. Right now, the extender is working fine- the help center (India) was very helpful, to their credit and were patient with me when I was not in the best of spirits.

Holiday return policy starts November 1st. That gives you until January 15th to return the product.

I think it all depends on who you get at the counter. I can personally say that if a customer has a legitimate issue with a product and they just want an exchange and not a return I help them by exchanging the product as long as it wasn't purchased too far out of policy. Also, some manufacturer's do allow us to fulfill their warranty in store, it's always worth a try.

If the product is truly defective have the associate attempt a return as a defective item. If the manufacturer does not accept the return in store a receipt will print out saying sorry for the inconvenience.

It's not like the return policy is on the receipt or hanging on large signs at checkout or anything.

I checked BB's recycle webpage, and it says right there that there is a $25 fee for TV's!

Yes, this changed last year.

If you wait, many communities & companies have recycling drives - which includes free drop off of TV's.

Exactly how is anyone supposed to know what the problem is and why we should not shop at Best Buy when you do not indicate what the problem is?

when i showed my receipt to get my game from the locked Gage the game was not there so he asked the floor manager to get the one of the table from the front ,and luckily there was one there . so they had my receipt but i still owned tax on that part and i told that best buy person to get all the the money . so i can just pick it up but no they TOLD me that i owed money. asked for the manager and he said sorry either pay or we put it back. For $80 dollar game . THE BEST BUY WILL BE THE LAST TIME I GO THERE I WILL BUY ALL MY PARTS FROM AMAZON FROM NOW ON . THANKS FOR NOTHING

Best Buy - Review in Appliances and Electronics category from Concord, New Hampshire

On July 14th I paid my credit card balance of 154.00 via phone payment I was told by customer service that my balance was now 0 and nothing more was owed and I owed 0 late fees etc. today 11/3/2016 I found out that my payment I made on July 14th was late and payment was supposed to be due July 9th with that being said they attached a 35.00 late fee and since July have been charging me late fees and interest on the original July 9th late fee. So even though I was told my account was 0 they hit me with that LATE late fee and now I owe them 200! They stated whether it was their mistake or not I signed the contract to get the card so I have to pay them. They agreed to drop a interest charge and a late fee but I still had to pay them 156.00 to close the account. I used 154.00 of my 1,000 credit limit.

I'd think you'd be responsible for knowing when your credit cards are due... adulting is hard. Also, the credit card is not owned by Best Buy, this would actually be a complaint against Citi Bank, who owns the credit card and whos customer service people you spoke with about the issue.

Did you have the employee attempt to return it and see if the manufacturer warranty could be fulfilled in store? (That process will only get you a store credit but its better than stuck with a broken product) Did you speak with a manager nicely, most are willing to do exchanges on out of policy items.

I would personally take down your order number, it can be punched in and your personal information accessed. :/

I purchased 2 appliances at the cost of 1608.00 and could not get the delivery set up, I went into the store to cancel with the manager, and I use that term loosely, and was assured my refund (I paid cash) would be processed that day, Oct. 19. After 1 week Shania called me to tell me she processed my refund! WTH! It should have been sent by then, well it is now Nov 1. and still no refund. HH Gregg will get my business from now on, I went there got my stuff the next day and my rebate already came back! Where is my refund???? I will never shop there again !

I bought a microwave for my rental and I was too small. I never took it out of the box. I have it for a month and a half. I didn't realize the policy on returns was 15 DAYS. They would not take it back. I was used to shopping at FRY's that has a 6 month return policy....
