Best Buy review: Ridiculous Geek Squad Rules

I went into the Bethel Park, PA location to buy a replacement battery for my HP Laptop computer (HP 15-f211wm, 2 years old). There were four counter personnel behind the service desk not doing anything but talking to one another, and I was the only customer. I explained my laptop was working fine but the battery wasn't holding a full charge for long, and that the laptop itself was even flashing battery replacement warnings. The girl at the counter was nice but said they don't stock all batteries. I said "Fine, let's order a battery, or I would be fine with leaving my computer and the store could replace it." She said no, I would have to get an appointment with the Geek Squad first. I said you have all these people here behind the counter and none of you can order a battery?" Again I was told I'd need an appointment. The only authorized Geek was just standing aside waiting for his next appointment doing nothing! I said I'll wait, but again I was told I'd have to make an appointment... to order a battery !!! Irritated I asked for a complaint form or an 800 # to register my dissatisfaction. I was given a number and left the store. I called the number which was only the number to the same store and put me into an automated selections of the store departments and directions to the same store! Idiots. I went to the local Ninja store and they ordered the #776622-001 battery for me, it will be here in a couple days.

Best Buy review: False promise

I purchased a laptop at the West Kendall store and paid $1640. I had an older laptop and had installed Win 10 which i purchased the day before. Asked salesperson if BB could transfer the sw and he advised it could be done at no charge. The next day i arrived with both laprops and was told it would cost $100. They didnt care what the salesperson said. As much as i liked the laptop i returned it. BB didnt care what their salesperson had said and the manager said give him his money back. They just didnt seem to care and lost out on a $1640 sale.

Its not the employees responsibility to know the ends and outs of YOUR property. Acting like a child because you didn't read YOUR owners manual is irresponsible.

Trying to get people riled up against an employee simply because of your ignorance and self entitlement is pathetic.

I have had my delivery / install/ takeaway of a dishwasher cancelled twice. Best Buy different factions all blame each other. Some have said I should be reimbursed for all my time. I had a case manager send me a phone number that when I called was disconnected. Such a horrible company. Now have no idea on delivery.

Best Buy Delivery and Installation is a complete nightmare!

I experienced similar horror with Best Buy's delivery and installation service that many others have experienced. I ordered a new refrigerator, electric range/oven, and an above the range microwave from Best Buy. Big mistake! It took 2 service calls to get my new refrigerator installed. First time they delivered it to the garage and didn't install it. They also didn't take away my old refrigerator. I had a COMPLETE nightmare with the delivery and installation of my new electric range/oven and takeaway of my old range/oven. Two delivery men came. One didn't know how to use the straps or the dolly to carry my old range/oven out. They demolished our iron sidewalk gate and brick pillar with the heavy new range and dolly. They scratched and gouged my hardwood floors and one of them sexually harassed me. They were apparently from a third party delivery service and no one would take responsibility for any of it. Best Buy and the third party delivery services (PTG Logistics and Haul To And From Transportation) treated me horribly. By then I was very worried and afraid of the delivery of the microwave. I called to cancel it. They said it could not be canceled. They sent the geek squad to do that delivery and installation. They took out my old microwave, but when they unboxed the new one, it had a huge dent in it. HUGE. After that, I tried to cancel that order again, but the geek squad guys hadn't closed out the order and it was still showing it was in delivery status for days on end. I ended up changing it to delivery only and paid my own contractors to install it. Dealing with them has been a very demeaning experience. BEST BUY DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION IS A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!! #BestBuyNoMore

I called Best Buy to check to see if a particular camera and quantity was in stock. Instead of checking the inventory and letting me know they transfer me to Best Buy business. I know from experience that Best Buy for business is terrible. I just wanted to 1. see if they carried a camera, and 2. see what quantities were in stock locally. I can only assume that Best Buy really does not want the walk in business at their retail store. Why would a staff member transfer me to on hold ***. On top of that--my call was disconnected after more than 15 minutes. This is not service. More business to Costco, Sam's Walmart, and whoever else.

Details
Bought a laptop. I was offered a 15% discount to open a credit account. Looked at the receipt when I got home I didn't get the discount. They did not send statements. So I ended up paying interest. I paid it off and then started getting statements. Statements never reflected my payment. Had to call and close the account.
