Lack of customer service training for employees | Best Buy review from Topeka, Kansas
I had a total of 4 trips to Best Buy today - all for the purchase of a vacuum cleaner. I found the product I went there for, purchased it and went home and proceeded to put it together. However, I found that the 3 screws that were needed to put it together were missing from the package. I called the store back and spoke with the same person that originally helped me purchase the item. She said she would take the 3 screws out of the floor model and let me have them. I returned to the store and she was assisting another customer and had another store assoc. help me. He gave me 5 screws - extra "just in case I dropped one." I asked this man if this was the right size of screw and he stated that it was. I was positive it wasn't though. I went home and sure enough, it wasn't the right size. I went back to the store a 3rd time and asked the front door greeter if I could please speak to a manager. This man kept calling a manager and got no reply. Finally, this man pointed at a red-haired man and said for me to go talk with him as he was a manager. Needless to say, this was a complete disaster. This guy offered to have me go home, get my new vacuum and bring it back to the store and he would put it together for me. That was not the issue in the first place. The missing parts were the issue. Long story short, I went home and returned to the store for a 4th time, vacuum in tow, and was pointed in the direction of the return/exchange desk. The young girl behind the counter was absolutely rude and had a very snotty attitude. Folks, there is nothing good to say about this store. They have lost me as a customer for good. All the technology in the world will never take the place of good old fashioned customer service. These people are clueless. I've learned my lesson and will not give them my business from this day forward.

I bought a camcorder at the end of February, used it 2 or 3 times, inside. I took it back in April because I couldn't see anything in the viewfinder when I tried to use it outside. When I took it back to Best Buy, they refused to give me a refund. They never even offered to let me exchange it for something different (which is really what I wanted). When the manager came to the service counter he simply repeated the same phrase as the customer no-service rep..."Best Buy policy". He told me he couldn't give me a refund because he couldn't change the computer. When I asked for someone who had that authority he quoted the 888 number for Best Buy. They told me only the manager could grant an exception to the policy!!!! When I confronted him with this, he said he wasn't going to do it. No reason. End of story.

Best buy not best price as advertised
Local Best Buy would not price match Sears on Appliances I tried to purchase LG Steam Dryer from Best Buy in Mt. Laurel NJ,. I was treated rudely whenI asked to Match Advertised price at Sears for same unit delivered and installed..Customer service would not give me to store manager instead I was told to call 888-bestbuy. I was told at that number that pricing was at the discretion of Store Manager. In short I believe that the local store was actively trying to avoid the issue by not letting me speak to store manager. I believe that the chain should adhere to their advertisement claims.
Best Buy Sham
I took my home PC to best Buy for repair (because I bought it there along with thousands of dollars in other purchases). The computer would power up but nothing showed up on the screen. I was working two full time jobs and did 60 college credits in one year soooo was kindaaa busy. They finally told me to come pick it up or they'd junk it. I paid the repair/eveluation bill but declined a few other "suggestions" just like when you get your oil changed. I got it home, plugged it in.. Nothing. It was EXACTLY like it was prior to taking it in. Best Buy said "its been too long, repairs can't be warrantied that long," even though it had only left their store that DAY. They refused to do anything without an additional repair/evaluation fee of about 70 bucks. I told them to take a leap. I went to Electronic City fully prepared to buy another computer and while shopping for one, their repair folks came and got me telling me it was a loose video card and it works fine. They charged me zip.. zero.. nada...Its still working fine to this day. If I ever but something puter-ish again, it won't be at Best Buy. I spent thousands there... big screens.. surround sounds .. digital cameras.. PDAs.. yada yada.. hope they enjoyed the 70 bucks, it'll be the LAST DIME they ever get from me. BTW, I called their store manager, corporate on and on. I basically got told to *** off (but they were tossing my salad nicely while they did it). TV Bulb replacment - OEM or not? | Best Buy review from Chicago, Illinois
I recently bought a replacement bulb for my JVC 52" rear projection. I had an option of saving $35 for buying non-OEM Phillips, which I stupidly took. I didn't realize it but the bulb was so dim and failing prior to the 90 warranty, but it wasn't until an authorized repairman diagnosed as a failed bulb. I contacted Lighting Technologies, Intl, the distributor, and they refused to even consider a return or exchange because I am now outiside the 90 day return window. Buy OEM and don't deal with LT Int'l. They suck. Go CUBS.
Front door secuity at Best Buy
I was comming home from work on April 23, 2008 around 6:30pm. I needed canned air and themal paste to fix my computer that was damaged from UPS, so I decided to stop at the Best Buy at Metro Town B.C. Canada on Kingsley street. Unfortainly The Best Buy did not carry the thermal past I needed and I proceeded to leave the store. When I approched the door a tall man with glasses left his booth on the right side of the door and got real close to me almost touching me, had a smirk on his face and told me to have a nice day. When I proceeded out the door someone purposely set the anti-theft sensors off at the doors. I was confused at first and the guy told me to come back so I did. In front of other customers humulating me he demanded to empty my pockets with that smirk on his face, so I empty my pockets to show him even know that I was very up set that he would accuse me of stealing I even asked him if he wanted me to *** my shoes and if it was normal S.O.P. to profile and single out people and stop them at the door to be searched. He got quiet and let me go. See the thing is that I once worked for Best Buy in Florida for 4 years and not once I have never seen such disrespect for a customer before in my life and I blame that on poor management and employee training I realy hope someone in customer relations reads this and fixes that problem. For now on I think I will never step foot in a Canadian Best Buy store ever again.
Best Buy - Worst Buy!!
After 3 months of research we found the stainless steel fridge we liked. Purchased it at full price for Best Buy. A day before the scheduled delivery they called and said they didn't have the fridge anymore except for the floor model. I didn't want the floor model. I called other stores and found it new in another city. They said they would ship that one to me, NIB. After 2 weeks they delivered the fridge. The delivery guy scratched the door while putting in the handle. He reported it and did I. The manager called me to tell me that the fridge had been discontinued. Offered to give me another fridge for the same price ($2600). We picked another fridge similar to the original. The same delivery guy came to do the switch and scratched the 2nd fridge. Scratched the 1st fridge even more while taking it out. I called to complaint while he was still there. I told them I didn't want the fridge since, this one too, was scratched. I want a scratch free fridge. The manager called me back to tell me that since I had already received two fridges that I was no happy with they couldn't let me get a 3rd one! They wouldn't let me get a 3rd fridge because they now had two scratched fridges! Mind you, the same delivery guy scratched both! I got my money back (after a big hassle, too). Went to Lowe's and got the original fridge I wanted, which Best Buy said was discontinued. Lowe's delivered the fridge scratch free and with no hassle. I will NEVER, EVER buy anything from Best Buy!

I will not be shopping at Best Buy any longer.They do not offer cash refunds. I ended up going to that store 3 days in a row with problem with a PC game I bought, it wouldn't play in my PC, I returned it, but they said only store credit.I found another game, brought it home, it wouldn't play ( my computer's only 3 yrs. old & plays other games completely fine ).On the 3rd day I tried to find something else, but couldn't find anything I wanted.No cash refunds & you have to use the store credit right then & there.
I went to best buy in Woodbridge on prince william parkway to return a game that did not work to my computer a manager by the name of brian presgrave had the worst attitude i had ever seen employees that act like this to customers should be immediately fired he not...
