Bestbuy does cover physical damage on most products. People on wish to buy protection after something breaks.

The protection actually has accidental damage in it. I shatered my iPad twice and the just give me a knew one each time

Out $500 and no computer | Best Buy review from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Went to Best Buy to get a computer. only one they had was display model. so I had them order it. It should have arrived at the store 3 days later, didn't happen. now the run around: they said they will UPS it from the other store to local store, didn't happen, later they said they will UPS it to my house, didn't happen. Now I go in AGAIN to local store and they can't find my computer, nor do they have a tracking number, they don't even know if it was sent UPS or Fed Ex or by Santa Claus. They can not find the computer at the other store where it was going to be shipped from, etc. All they can tell me is that it's no longer at the store from where it was being shipped from, not at the local store. I'm waiting for them to tell me that it's on Santa's sleigh. I'm out nearly $500 and all I have for my Christmas present is a paper receipt showing that I paid for a computer that I don't have.

update: finally, thanks to a worker at BB who looks like she should be on maternity leave instead of having to work, she fixed me up :) She dragged in a manager or something and they went in the back, brought out a computer that costs $200 more than what I paid, more RAM, more HD space, etc. I did not pay any additional costs and left satisfied.

After I get home, my new monitor ( 1 yr old) was not cmpatible. NO WAY was I going to BB for a mo nitor, so I went to Staples and got a new monitor. Even though BB did eventually give me my computer, I will not likely buy from them again. I'm also thankful that the computer works fine and no problems.

I got a free 6 months antivirus program but did not download it. I have my own that works better and don't want the hassle of uninstalling theirs after 6 months.

Also while I was waiting for them to bring my computer up, a guy came in "missing" his dishwasher that he ordered. Don't know what happened with that deal because I left but I wouldn't be surprised if he's using a telecope to look for Santa's sleigh carrying his dishwasher, LOL.

I have no idea who told you that the stores policy is only to acquire the serial number when someone purchases a protection plan, but they lied! The system doesn't require serial numbers entered at checkout unless it's for a product that needs activation (cell phone, ipad with 3g, and gaming consoles-merely as the are a high theft items).

Don't buy any applicances at Best Buy

OUr LG washer broke after 18 mths, out of warranty but I had purchased the extended warranty. Took them FIVE days to get a guy out here, and then didn't have the part. Over two weeks went by, no one would take ownership and find the parts. Finally they decided to replace it, however, that model is no longer made so the one they delivered does not match my dryer and they won't replace the dryer, despite the fact that we bought them together as a set, which in my world means matching. Really lousy customer service both on the phone in in the store with the General Mgr, Mr. Ford, Costa Mesa, CA Store.

BEST BUY BLACK FRIDAY LIES

On black friday I purchased an x-box 360 bundle for $199. The next day I get an email stating that it is on backorder and we will receive it in 1-2 weeks. No problem we can wait. Then I get an email saying it is not available for pick up at the store and to call customer service to arrange for it to be shipped to my house. I call customer service and they inform me that they will not be sending one to us they sold out and the website was processing orders after they had already sold out. Yet they are still available to buy in the store at regular price. Shouldn't a company that specializes in electonics and computers have a website that can keep up with holiday orders. They should not have told us that my order was placed and kept me hanging when I was never getting what I ordered. I went into the local Best Buy but of course they were of no help at all. Needless to say we will not be making anymore purchases from BB.

Well, I did all of the above. Talked to store manager, emailed customer service.

To no avail so I just had to cancel the order because it was still pending on my bank card. Ended up purchasing it on ebay for $269 from someone who apparently got the black friday deal. Still a good deal. Still waiting for my Supernatural dvd set from BB.

Maybe I will get it before Christmas. :roll

We bought a 24" Dynex tv on Best Buy's website Thanksgiving morning after staying up until 3:00am and finally got it 8 days later. Guess we were "lucky"??

We opened up the box and there was no stand or remote. I boxed it up and took it down to BB to get an exchange. Well, they were out of stock and the return employee was extremely rude and acted like she didn't want to be bothered. I called up the customer number on my invoice and the woman at BB sounded like she had no idea what she was doing and then ended up hanging up on me 'cause she pushed the wrong button.

What I ended up doing was calling Dynex directly and finally got satisfaction from them. They are sending me the stand and the remote. Now I have to wait another 8 to 11 days before I can set up and use the tv!!!!

Also, when my son went on the BB website to find out which store did have the tv in stock, it turns out BB has discontinued this tv from its product line. My best advice is if you got this tv without all the parts, deal with Dynex directly and save yourself alot of aggravation!!!!!!

They can refund your money rather than sell you a money loser. Black Friday is all hit and miss, whether online or in store.

Loathe the practices at BBY, but not worth the aggravation here. Get your refund and shop elsewhere.

If you have the orignial email comformation with the amount your purchased the X-box for with an order number and confirmation on it there is no way they can disreguard your order. print out the original reciept, and bring it to a best buy store, also write an email to customer service about your situation and tell tehm that it is illegal for them to take your money and not provide you what you had pruchased.

The only way that your order could be not fulfilled is if you did not have funds inthe card you charged or if there were no more x-boxes left at all. stand up for yourself and be assertive and don't take no that is what these big coorporations want us to do.

If consumers do not stand up for themselves and their rights we might as well just flush our money down the toilet. Good luck stand your ground and bring your inner @itch out.

Best Buy - Beware of

I ordered a Wii video game on-line at BestBuy.com. The only option offered was in-store pickup which I selected. Website indicated item was available. A day later I received an e-mail indicating my item was not available at my local Best Buy and to call the "Customer Care" number to pick it up from another store or to have it shipped to me. As there are no other Best Buys within a reasonable distance of my home, I called to select to have it shipped to me. First attempt I was disconnected. Second attempt I waited on hold for over 30 minutes only to be told that my only option was to get from a Best Buy store 90 miles from my home. When I asked to have it shipped from Green Bay to the Wausau store (since they wouldn't ship to me directly), I was told "Best Buy doesn't move merchandise between stores and that shipping would be at the discretion of the Green Bay store." Can't believe a store that specializes in electronics doesn't have a more accurate website and can't figure out how to transfer merchandise to satisfy customers. All their major competitors seem to have figured it out. I will no longer shop at Best Buy. Apparently this is how they treat their "silver premier" members...

Santa Clause | Best Buy review from San Jose, California

The Best Buy Santa Clause commercials are not funny and an afront to all who like Santa, it should be taken off the air in my opinion, why would anybody want to make Santa look like a fool on national T.V. I will not buy at Best Buy again becouse you are not what Christmas is all about. For you it is all about money, for some it is more about Christmas spirit. I know my small amount of money will not affect you but if more read this email maybe that will be a start!!!! Lance R. San jose CA.

Celebrating the birth of Christ is the true meaning of Christmas. Has man distorted the meaning through the years?

I don’t think so, even with all the glamour and glitter. Christmas is still about celebration and giving. And if I can give my nine year old son joy by him believing in Santa Clause, then after our Amen, it’s off to bed to do battle with sleep while waiting for dusk and the joy of giving.

The only issue I have is trying to answer him when he asked “Why are those people being mean to Santa?” I tell him they are mad at him because they got the coal last year, looks like coal again this year. Merry Christmas Best Buy, I never shop there anyway, too pricy, too rude.

Jesus is the reason for the season, NOT the jolly fat guy in a red suit. If you can't explain that much to your kids, then you've got bigger problens than where to drop some coin for the holidays. SERIOUSLY!

I think best buy went too far and personally they will not be getting any of my money any more. My sons computer was purchased elsewhere. Companies need to be more responsible for their actions, why should parents have to worry about best buy ruining Christmas for their kids

This is an e-mail I just sent to Best Buy. I don't even like to shop, don't watch much TV, nor do I patronize this store to begin with, but I find the commercials fundamentally disturbing.

Anyone that likes the commercials or criticizes someone who is disturbed by them truly does not get what Christmas is all about.

My message was as follows: "I don't really buy anything from your store, so you probably aren't going to lose any business, but in the spirit of glad tidings to all goodwill towards men, do your television commercials really have to be disrespectful towards Santa? It is really about who has the better stuff, or the respect and dignity we extend towards our fellow human beings?"

To the person who said, "Get a hobby or something. Find something bigger to worry about than crying over a *** commercial, get over it.

First, there's no need to be insulting.

Second, just because somebody spent five minutes criticizing a commercial doesn't mean he or she doesn't worry about something more meaningful. I personally spend several hours a week doing volunteer work, and I've written a few short posts here and there about the commercial. So what?

It's not like everybody needs to spend every hour of every day trying to save the world. How much time to do you spend doing volunteer work or fighting for a cause?

Best buy online - Do not buy from them

Update by user Dec 06, 2011

Good news! Best buy reconsidered my case and offered a free install of the new dish washer.

Hope fully, it gets installed tomorrow with no further issues. If it works out OK, thanks to Best Buy to come through in the end!

Original review posted by user Dec 01, 2011

I bought a dish washer with installation included. After the purchase, I called them and made sure that installation is included. One of their customer service people even mentioned that if there is no customization required, they will install the washer. If some additional work required, they may charge for that. I was Ok with it. I took a day off today to make sure it is delivered and installed. Best buy delivered but they are not installers. Someone else will come to install it. When I called to confirm, installation is additional, it is not included in the order. From there, I spent over one hour on the phone with various people from Best Buy. Some in the middle agreed that installation is included with the deal, but kept transferring call to other departments. At the end, they were not honoring their original deal. Guy in the end basically said that sometimes Bestbuy sales people are misinformed. I am totally pissed. I asked them to come and pick the appliance. I asked him whether I am going to be charged for any stocking fee, he said no. Hope he is not misinformed!!! I will never buy anything from their online store!
