Installation of a new hard drive, SSD or not is rather a simple procedure. Open up the machine, clean and dust it(good opportunity to do so)and then disconnect the old and put in the new.

It's really just unplugging the old and plugging in the new as the cable(s) should be the same. No reason to pay someone to do something as simple as this.

i agree installing and ssd is quite simple on most pc's but not with a dell ! dell has made it very difficult to install..

possibly the piece of *** dell i just bought and shortly sent back!

was defective and thats y i asked the geek to install one that they had on sale.the dell pc was nothing but a problem right from the time i got it.mos later when they refunded the purchase minus 170.00$ not only did i get screwed by best buy but by dell too! put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Best Buy - Telephone Review from Atlanta, Georgia

I went to Best Buy in Fultondale, Al. No one would help me. I finally walked around the store loudly saying how much I hated Best Buy & how no one would assist me. I finally got help but the item I needed was not on the shelve. The young man helping me grudgingly went to look it up in the computer. He found the item but it had to be ordered in. He said I had to pay before he ordered it. I said fine I had cash. He said they didnt take cash only credit card (is that even legal?)! I told him I could have ordered it online & had it delivered to my house if I wanted to pay by credit card. No cash accepted he said. I left. I drove 45 minutes to get to the store then spent at least 30 minutes mostly tring to get a clerk to help me. Total waste of time. I hate Best Buy!!

I paid for a brand new fridge with NO problems. I spent $105 on a pair of JBL Synchros Reflect BT ear buds on 8/1/15. They could no longer be recharged because of a defective battery. I returned the ear buds to the Wyomissing PA Best Buy customer service counter with the original packaging and original receipt. I was told that even know the product is still under warranty, I didn't buy the extended warranty at the time of purchase, therefore Best Buy was not responsible for assisting me and that I had to contact JBL. I was dumbfounded! Even Wal Mart shows much more customer loyalty than this. I explained that I did not feel I was responsible for contacting JBL and felt that Best Buy should refund my money and contact JBL themselves since they sold headphones. This is the process at Wal Mart, lol! I let the associate and manager know that I would never purchase from Best Buy again if they weren't going to help me. The manager said "ok".

You had the headphones for 7 months. How in the *** is this Best Buy's problem?

I can't tell for sure if the item was within the return period it not. But from the sounds of it I'm guessing it wasn't in which case you are the one in the wrong here. Once the return period is over any problems that may arise with the product are the responsibility of the owner and manufacturer, not the store that it was purchased at.

Best Buy - Horrible customer service/lying drivers
Best Buy - Horrible customer service/lying drivers - Image 2
Best Buy - Horrible customer service/lying drivers - Image 3
Purchased a refrigerator through the St. Petersburg store and asked the sales person for late delivery. He provided correspondence that stated what time I should expect a call, the automated call came early (I was not home) and was not within the window that I had previously requested. I called the first thing in the money to provide a contact number for 30 minute call ahead. The person called at 10:10 a.m. EST per the missed call log of my cell phone and did not leave a message. I could not imagine a business would call for a specific reason (call ahead) and would not leave a message. Shortly thereafter, I decided to return the call thinking it may have been Best Buy (863-256-****). A rude customer service representative (Lisa) confirmed that it was them calling for the 30 minute call ahead. Best Buy's driver left a sorry they missed me tag with the time of 10:20 a.m. on my door. I called repeatedly to let the customer service group know that driver did not uphold the request and of the 3 times I called, they all said sorry, but the driver was not going back. I asked to speak to a manager and was told JJ was in a meeting but he too reviewed the issue and said the driver could not go back. I repeatedly explained to each customer service representative that I had 4 coolers of food that needed to be refrigerated or frozen to no avail. Then, I mentioned to Janet, the last customer service representative that repeatedly I had been told what the driver could not do and no one had ever tried to rectify the situation by offering that the delivery take place tomorrow. The last time I purchased big ticket items was 13 years ago for this very reason. Their customer service if awful. Janet is the only one who gave 100% and is obviously the only one who understands the definition of excellent customer care in the entire corporation. Too little, too late.

Failure to deliver or refund

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The last several weeks have been a horrible customer service experience with best buy. After awaiting delivery of washing machine for weeks, misinformation on delivery time, failure to find the machine in the warehouse, we simply decided to cancel that order and purchase a different machine. We are still awaiting $800 refund on that cancellation. In the meantime our account has been debited $750 for the machine we subsequently decided to buy, however I've now received notice that the order is cancelled due to inability to process payment, despite being able to see a debit in my checking account: Inline image 1 I've been a customer of best buy since 2005 and I buy a lot of appliances through best buy. This experience has been the worst possible - there seem to be multiple systems that don't talk to each other. Please kindly reimburse the money for the first washer and for this washer. On top of the cancellation notice and lack of reimbursement, I received an automated message that the delivery is scheduled for tomorrow morning and the message comes on my work phone despite my having called repetitively to establish my cell phone or my husbands cell phone as the contact number. Please help resolve this absolutely bizarre experience. I never complain, I am a reasonable, calm, accepting person, but this has gone too far. I have a job and a family and this has taken by now upwards of 10 hours of time.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have called them 7 different times for the same issue. Why 7? They have hung up on me 4 of the 7 times and at least half were rude. I had to reexplain myself for 2 hours over and over again. I was not rude whatsoever, but I did not hold back my feelings on followup calls after being hung up on as it is normal to be frustrated about it. My simple issue was never resolved (it was a return). They lost me forever. I will never go back nor recommend anybody purchase from them. They seriously need to reexamine their entire customer service department.

I go to Best Buy looking for a radio to be installed in my car. Associate in car radio department is installing radios in display but can;t help me so he goes looking for someone who can. Came back again empty handed and left to look for help again. I get tired of waiting and head to the front of the store thinking I will not see people because they are either buisy or on their break. See plenty of associates idly chatting. Call store manager once I get home. Told them what happened. They say I should be compensated in some way and receive the help I deserve. Go back to the store. Meet the manager and another manager. They apologize. Go with associate from car radio area to find car radio. He can not find it at first and then I find it, But am told they are out of stock on that one. Also told they do not have an installation tech now and it will be two weeks before he is ready. Told I could go to neighboring town to have it installed there. Find out I have to pay for all parts in installation. OMG!

Best Buy - Samsung Tv Review from Maywood, Illinois

My 80 year old Mother-in-law bought a new TV from Best Buy, Melrose Park, Illinois. She asked what happens if there was something wrong with it and was told she could bring it back for an exchange within 15 days.

When we set it up for her a week later found out that the screen was broken. Brought it back and they won't exchange it or give her her money back claiming she broke it because she didn't bring it back within 48 hours. Felt that Customer service was rude and condensending towards my Mother-in-law. Worse return policy ever!

Never, ever, ever buy ANYTHING from Best Buy. They have just lost a frequent customer.

The paperwork given to her states that she has 48 hours to inspect the product. As a best buy installer, it looks like it was grabbed with the middle finger on the glass and squeezed causing the break.

Im guessing an accident and it happened when you pulled the unit from the box. You may not.

Have even realized you did it as it happens very easily.

Guest

if she needed a new tv that badly why would you wait a week to set it up for her?

someone obviously dropped it you can clearly see it in the corner.

was it an "open box" purchase?"

i find there's more missing to this complaint then the poster is letting on. i've bought lots from them had only ever a few problems and NEVER had an issue with returning things.

I agree that something seems to be missing from the review, as you are correct something clearly struck the screen in the corner. Since the review doesn't state it was an open box item, personally I can only assume it was brand new which would make returning it in that condition hard as the store would have to be at least somewhat suspicious that the damage was caused by the customer, especially since it had been over a week before the damage was discovered.

I don't get people!!! If you pay with a credit or debit card and aren't happy with the product, and the store won't work with you, call up and dispute the charges, that's one of the main perks of paying with a card!

In this case, email the bestbuy ceo hubert.joly@***.com and someone on his team will help you out.

Guest

There is actually a retail law on the books that states that they have to take it back since it was damaged. Point that out to them and maybe they will change their tune.

Guest

Contact the manufacturer of the TV and let them know about it. The warranty you have is with them not Best Buy and they should be more than happy to replace the TV.

BUYER BEWARE - RETURNS!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased an Asus computer from Best Buy. It continued getting an error "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" (shortened) - the screen would turn black and freeze for a moment, every few minutes. I took it into Geek Squad, who usually treat you as if you have done something to it. I turned it on, let it do it's updates, and went to Facebook - that's it. They could not figure out the problem and told me to exchange for another. I did, this had same problems. I returned and opted to try an HP Envy, which had the same issue! Exchanged again for another HP Envy - this one had the same issue, in addition to the keyboard being messed up. A tech friend of mine suggested an MSI, which needed to be ordered through Best Buy - not in stock. A "red flag" popped up that said I had done so many returns that I may not be able to return again. I asked the clerk if something were defective on this MSI, would i be able to return it - she said yes, just let the cashier know what has gone on with the other computers - as most of them already know. This MSI doesn't get that error, BUT it has a bad battery - it won't work if it is unplugged. Their geek squad checked it over and said we will order another for you, which requires me to "return" this one. I was unable to return - the denial popped up. Best Buy staff are unable to override it. They told me to call the third party number on the receipt, company called TRE, who monitors return activity. I called and got a person who has a foreign accent, as well as all the others I hear in the background, I can barely hear him in the store because of the music in there...the gist I got was I needed to submit a "dispute" which takes up to 30 days, taking me over the time limit to return this defective unit to Best Buy when they determine I am not some thief trying to steal from them - in fact, I spent $1,200 - which is $400 more than the initial purchase !!! After many calls to the robotic company TRE and the close-mouthed staff at Best Buy, I apparently have no leg to stand on as I didn't get in writing from the cashier that I would be able to return after getting the warning. I am being treated as a criminal and after 2 months of these defective computers, being on the phone hours and hours with Intel, HP, Geek Squad, in the store with Geek Squad, and driving 30 miles each way back and forth to their store. I called their Corporate office and they said their hands are tied - it is all in the hands of this ridiculous 3rd party, TRE. I demanded to speak to a superior there - which they said would take 24-48 hours - God forbid you have a job, doctor's appointment, or something else where you miss the call as I did. I called back and am awaiting another 24-48 hour call. BUYER BEWARE - IF YOU HAVE A DEFECTIVE ITEM FROM THEM, DO NOT CONTINUE TO RETURN IT IF YOU INSIST ON BEST BUY. GO ELSEWHERE!!! I will never spend another penny in that store, ever. My only option now is to send in my computer to the manufacturer and hope and pray it is only the battery that is the problem and they replace it under the manufacturer's warranty, and I am "out" a computer for awhile - this is a 2 week old computer! This is off my topic, but Windows 10 stinks! I do not know what the issue is with the first 4 computers, but it's well documented in complaints all over the internet and in Best Buy's customer reviews. The drivers between Windows 10 and whatever the brand computer company are not compatible or something! In addition to this MSI after doing the new Windows updates, not recognizing the brand new Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard. What a joke. Windows 7 should be available as well as Windows 10 when purchasing a new computer until Windows 10 is without bugs and compatible!

I needed to return a item bought at Best Buy today, but there return policy is as follows.. All items must be returned within 15 days. I was shocked that there was not even a 30 day grace period for returning an unopened box item. I feel this is very poor customer service will will make purchases elsewhere in the future. As our demands are busy (especially around Christmas season this is totally unreasonable for a store of this size. They are also the ones that will lay on a restock fee. The bad thing about it is that this policy was not posted anywhere on the receipt. The Customer Service Rep was of course very rude on top of it. I will stick with Staples or Costco from now on!

I went to Best Buy to purchase a TV.I was looking for a 50 inch, but salseman told me he had a great deal on a Lg 55fl6100,the price was $679,and he would through in a speaker system for free.I took the deal, but realized when I got home that he had given me a Lg 555700 instead. After waiting 20 minutes to get someone on the phone, they told me to come back and exchange it.When I returned the salseman said they were out of the 6100 model but the 5700 was the same item, just a newer model. When I returned home I called Lg to confirm what the salseman told me but they told me the 6100 was not the same, but had a better processor, when I confronted the salseman he said he would take $50 off the bill.I had thought that Best Buy was a reputable company, but now realize dealing with them is like buying from a street vendor. When I called corporate they acted as if they had no control on what the store does, they are free to *** customers,so don't depend on corporate to resolve any problems they just refer you back to the store.

Don't Buy Appliances at Best Buy

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On December 20, my family and I purchased a washer and dryer set from the Pacific Sales within the Woodbridge, VA Best Buy location. After being told the units would be available for quick delivery, the truth was far from that. It took 3 1/2 weeks from the time of purchase for my units to be delivered. At about the 2 1/2 week from purchase point, I called Best Buy for an update and they informed me they "do not handle that" and gave me to Pacific sales. Upon speaking with a Pacific Sales associate, they forwarded me to a warehouse and delivery case manager. I was unhappy with the service and was offered compensation once the units were delivered. One week later, my washer machine arrived damaged and inoperable. I called Pacific Sales back and was forwarded, transferred, placed on hold on and off for over four hours. When discussing compensation for my family of four's laundry, the compensation was withdrawn as an option. When I asked for an exchange or fix I was told I would have to buy a completely different washer machine from Best Buy first, and then Pacific Sales would refund me the money after the original washer machine was returned to the warehouse. When discussing fixing the brand new machine, I was told there were no technicians available to service the machine in the area I live in. Really? I live just outside of Washington D.C. and there is no one to service the machine I purchased? A third party contractor was hired to come out and fix one of the issues. The contractor came without the parts needed and delayed the process of fixing the washer machine another week. Long story short, it has been over a month since I purchased my washer and dryer for my new home. I have yet to use my washer and dryer and it will still be another week before the technician returns. Avoid Best Buy and Pacific Sales like the plague. No one takes ownership of the complications and the two companies will blame each other for the issues. The costumer service reps will try to pawn you off to someone else and not be of any help. There was only one customer service representative out of the ten (at least) I spoke to that was of any help (Dawn/Pacific Sales). I refuse to give Best Buy and Pacific Sales any more of my business. Read the reviews. This is one of many of the horror stories from these two businesses that work horribly together. Once they had my money, they no longer were of any help to ensure customer satisfaction. Go to Home Depot, Lowes, or HH Gregg for appliances. The time and headaches are not worth shopping at Best Buy.

The WORST customer service!!! I purchased TV & wall mount for add $200. I then purchased TV setup for $150 more. When I called, they said that TV mounting is additional $100, but they couldn't add it to the purchase; I need to go on-line to add it. While on-line I see the same wall mount, setup & tv mounting for $350. For the same product & installing I had to cancel the initial setup and return the wall mount, then reorder the $350 package. I was on the phone for over 30 minutes to get the refund on the installation!!! Finally a manager got on the line and offered to call me back when the refund was completed. Not including my time to return the SAME wall mount to the local store! Best Buy needs to change its name to Worst Service!!!
