Best Buy and Geek Squad
Bought a matching washer and dryer with a 3 year store warranty. Last week the washer broke down.
Called the store and was told to call the Geek Squad. They set up an appointment. But they were a no show. No knock on the door or phone call.
I called the Geek Squad. Was informed it was my tough luck. Was told to reschedule. I asked for the store manager.
He never called back. I called the Geek Squad manager about my problem. He said his hands were tied. We now have to drive 10 miles and use a laundromat.
They refused to put us on the list for tomorrow. I was treated very badly.
So I will bill them for our cost and time to go to the laundromat. Best Buy lost a customer.

I purchased some Philips Hue lighting equipment in preparation for installation of my new OLED screen. The equipment stayed in the box before my installation and having just received my installation, I realize the hue led lighting clasps on the strip light I purchased will not work on the new tv.
The other equipment was fine, just this one piece would not work.
Upon returning this one item to the store, I am now told that Best Buys return policy is 14 days! This was not made clear upon purchasing or I would have waited to purchase my items. Im stuck with $279 unopened lights I cannot use and its only been a month since purchase. I have been a longtime customer of Best Buy, but never again.
Im closing my Best Buy account and will never shop here again, knowing how ridiculous and unfair their policies have become. Go to Abt for electrical purchases. Theyre not desperate to have to treat their customers this way.
Thankfully I purchased my TV through Abt. I have peace of mind.

I have the warranty package for my phone when we purchased them a few years ago and renewed the warranty package in October/November.
Last October I cracked the Invisible Shield for my IPhone 12/12 Pro. Stopped by the store and thought I needed to purchase a new cover but was told with the warranty I did not have to so the cost was refunded to my account and the protective cover was put on by the Geek Squad.
Today, March 15, 2022, I went into Best Buy to have a new cover replaced on my phone and was told that since the cost of the current one was returned, I received my money back plus a cover so I did not have a warranty on the present invisible shield.
In speaking to a couple employees, the older gentleman showed my how the transaction should have been rang through Last October and stated that I needed to buy a shield for it to be covered by the warranty.
His example was

final cost $0.00
If I spent $26.15 last October and the amount was refunded, my cost is still $0.00. BUT it was not entered into Best Buys system correctly to show that it was a warranty replacement. So today, I spent a total of $21.49 for a shield that I should not have had to IF things were entered correctly last October 2021 at the store. Plus my expense of the warranty program.
I tried to explain this to the two gentleman but they were not getting it and kept telling me that I messed up their inventory and it was a loss to the store.
The older gentleman started to talk to me and want to explain things to me as if I was a child. I told him I would walk away if he did. Then when I tried to explain it to him, he was rude and told me not to point which I was not.
This happened at the 131 Mall Woods Drive, Dayton, Ohio store location. I can not return the item or I ended up with the same mess I had from October 2021.

Boo on Best Buy! Major rant coming
Im so frustrated!
I purchased a gift for my niece. It was to be sent to my home, in Wisconsin. It ended up going to Kansas, where I previously lived.
There is no phone number listed on Best Buys website. However, after much digging, I finally found a way to call them.
The message indicated that my wait time was longer than 10 minutes. So I waited. Finally, someone answered and sent me to the warehouse department. No one answered.
After I had been waiting, longer than 30 minutes, I got cut off.
So, I called back. I got the same message. I waited for 30 minutes and hung up. I tried to call UPS to see if they could do anything.
They, of course, could not, and referred me back to Best Buy.
After over 3 hours on the phone, I finally was able to find someone to talk to- who was VERY helpful! She sent out a new item, to my correct address. Then indicated that someone would deal with the item sent to Kansas. Hallelujah!
The item arrived at my house and was given to my niece.
Now, today, I received the original item!!!
(So, I paid for one and two showed up at my house.) I called Best Buy again. Finally got through after another wait, and was told that I needed to return the original item (the one that went to the wrong address and showed up at my house today) to Best Buy.
I live an hour from any Best Buy. Thats a 2 hour round trip to return an item that they goofed up on. Or, they said I could take it to a UPS drop off and return it that way.
I live in the country. Im a long way from a UPS office!
Good grief, Best Buy! This is horrible customer service!!! Im not a very happy camper.
Hours and hours of my time have been taken up by your mistake. Grrrrrr
On top of all of that, the last person I spoke with was very difficult to understand and there were chickens, CHICKENS!, clucking in the background. The poor person kept telling me the same thing, over and over- take it to my nearest Best Buy or UPS office.
My husband asked if they would just please come and pick it up. He said that they couldnt and instructed us to take it to Best Buy or UPS.
Otherwise we would probably be charged for the second air fryer.
I informed the person that I didnt have time to do so, as we were leaving the area for 2 weeks as we had a work conference that we needed to attend. The response was that we may be charged for the second item if we waited too long.
I am not happy with Best Buy, at all.

Microwave was not delivered with range as promised in January. Since then 3 appts.
have been set up when I called to complain, and was told they did not understand the delay. Today I am still on hold after 1 hr. and 16 minutes on hold! I was asked if the order was too expensive for me!
I was asked if I want to change the order! I did a lot a research, and just want the microwave I ordered. No one who speaks good english has called to explain what is going on. Today I first got someone in the national call center in the Philippines.
Without telling me, I was transferred to an "international site" in Panama! Lots of wind, noise, and heavy accents. I have been waiting for a supervisor. Once girl came on line and said I am transferring you now, but I am back to the same music.
Do you know what it is like to listen to the same couple of bars of music for 1 hr. and now 20 minutes???. No microwave for almost 6 mo. I was warned to not use Best Buy.
I am going to have to agree. This is a nightmare!

14 months ago, my husband and I bought a CyperPowerPC gaming PC from Best Buy. When we asked about purchasing an extended warranty, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that one was not necessary - the Sales Associate told us that since we already have a Best Buy Total Tech protection plan the PC would be covered for 2 years - parts and labor - so long as we maintain the plan (at a cost of $199/year), which we have done.
Hubs had the PC for all of 10 days when the GPU (graphics card) died.
Because the PC was covered under the manufacturer's warranty, Best Buy simply exchanged the PC for a new one. Last week, the motherboard died - at least, that's what the Geek Squad THINKS it might be; after taking the PC apart and examining it, they informed us that the PC is NOT covered under our Total Tech protection plan; the Geek Squad tech further commented that, contractually, Geek Squad is not allowed to work on or repair CyberPowerPC computers.
How interesting!
1) Geek Squad took the computer apart and ran diagnostics on it.
2) Geek Squad could not figure out what the problem is.
3) Suddenly Geek Squad conveniently remembers that they are not allowed to even work on CyberPowerPC computers, thus leaving the computer uncovered by our protection plan, even though this brand is NOT listed in the fine print of what is not covered by the plan and my husband and I were assured at the time of sale that it WAS covered!
My husband went to Best Buy to pick up his PC and upon speaking with a manager was told that Best Buy could do "nothing" to make us whole. A copy of this review will be sent to Best Buy Corporate and to the Better Business Bureau to warn others of their shady business practices.
In the meantime, I have cancelled my Total Protection plan with Best Buy and my husband has bought a new CyperPowerPC from BJ's Wholesale Club - for less than Best Buy charges and with a better extended warranty.

User's recommendation: Do not buy the Best Buy Total Protection Plan; they will find a way to cheat you if you need repairs!

Their return policy has always been the same. It's on the receipt. Unless you purchase the protection plan to cover the item if it's not working after the return period.
