Best buy warranty no good

bought a i-phone and a two year warranty from best buy. phone would not hold a charge , best buy said they would send my phone to a third party company and replace my phone in about three days with a refubished phone not repair or replace my phone with a new phone. i bought my NEW phone about 3 months ago and did not buy a refurbished phone. The two year warranty cost more than the phone cost and if there warranty calls for a refurbished phone they should be good enough and up front with customers and tell you that.

Always be wary of buying their Performance Service Plans. You pay alot and may receive a faulty refurbed item in exchange.

Also the Dec 2012 issue of CONSUMER REPORTS rates retailers on page 25. Best Buy is on the bottom.

It's clearly stated in your warranty paperwork that you will get a refurbished phone.

The battery does not last (3) THREE HOURS.I brought the computer back to the store and they told me to call the GEEK SQUAD and they would send out another battery. The GEEK SQUAD said I had to call ASUS.I have spent good money for a product that has failed. My Dynex TV went out and had purchased the service plan. 2 weeks ago the power supply went out and I returned it for repair. Picked it up yesterday and now no audio. Called store manager with my complaint. I don't want it repaired again, I want it replaced. ...

Buyer beware! Bought a new 60" tv at Best Buy in Amarillo.

It died 3 MONTHS later. Manufacturer has the circuit board BACKORDERED with no ETA! In other words, they don't have it and don't know when...

Best Buy manager Pio Sean Medina basically told me too bad so sad.

No help with the manufacturer, no returns, no in-store credit.

Then told me I needed to leave his store! Spent $800 in his store and tough ***.

Gateway touch all in one desktop. Open box item | Best Buy review from Clackamas, Oregon

I purchased an open box item from best buy today. It is a gateway touch screen all in one desktop. The guy that helped us said everything is tested by their geek squad before they put out to sell. I get home and touch screen does not work at all. I called best buy we gave them the model number and they had no clue of any functions in this computer. I hung up and called gateway support. I was hoping there was a on/off switch to activate touch screen. Gateway informed us that it is a driver problem. I called best buy back to let then know the problem obviously their top of the line geek squad by passed this part of inspection. The guy at the Gresham store was very rude. I will be returning this computer and purchasing else where! Be aware of best buy! This is the second time I've purchased a open box item and got home and did but work! Their geek squad peeps are idiots!

Make sue you don't take there word for any thing. The open Box Items have gotten so bad, that even when you call for a description, the information is usually incorrect.

Test it when you pick it up. If it's wrapped up?

Unwrap it and plug it in. Be careful not to take there word as an accurate description.

The days of purchasing a computer at BestBuy are long gone for anyone with any knowledge of computers. I have had good luck buying direct thru HP and Amazon.com for other brands.

This month's issue of CONSUMER REPORTS, Dec 2012, rates retailers on some criteria, Best Buy online rates at the bottom and their stores rate near the bottom. This is on page 25.

Its funny how these Best Buy employees (mostly all teenagers) try to defend their less than honest company. There have been so many PROVEN deceptions that States'Attorneys had to get involved. I believe that these kids are given paid time to post on websites like these. File your complaints with your State Attorney's Office of Consumer Protection and continue to post on websites like this. Then send copies of the comments to the State's Attorney's Office.

Forget the Geek Squad and go to a local brick and mortar computer shop.

Best Buy DOES NOT HONOR PREORDERS! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Hardened Edition on 9/12/12. I paid $5.00 in store in advance to reserve my copy of the the above mentioned game title. A little background on this specific edition of this game... The Hardened Edition is collector's item and is usually only available immediately when it is released. There are no additional shipments after the first shipment arrives. So if you don't get it when it is first released, you are basically screwed. The title was released on 11/13/12. I arrived on 11/14/12 to pick up the game title and pay the remaining balance ($74.99). The original MSRP is $79.99. The Best Buy store (Tustin #774) stated they are out of stock. OUT OF STOCK? I reserved my copy TWO MONTHS ago!!!!!! The employee was rude and disrespectful. He kept giving me attitude and asking why I was frustrated. I was frustrated because Best Buy DID NOT reserve my title! I requested to speak to a manager and the manager stated he would work out a "deal" for me. The "deal" was applying the $5.00 deposit for the original edition of the game title. This was NOT a deal because I could have walked into the store WITHOUT a pre-order and purchased the original game title. They had shelves and shelves of them. The manager called other local stores and they had the edition I pre-ordered but unfortunately they were holding them for customers who had pre-orders. So the other Best Buy store where HONORING the pre-orders. I called Best Buy Corporate office and filed a complaint. They gave me a $25.00 Gift Card. I thanked them for the gift certificate but it DOES NOT FIX the issue of them not HONORING my pre-order. I also filed a Better Busniess Bureau complaint against Best Buy Tustin #774.

Nightmare before x-mas | Best Buy review from Seattle, Washington

A friend of mine ordered a Samsung 64" 3D Plasma TV and Blueray for me on 10-29-2012 for my 50th Birthday party to be held on Saturday November 10th. My wife stayed home awaiting delivary of the gift which we found out was delivered to my old address of 10 years ago even after we verified my address twice. Fortunatly the person refused delivery and it was returned to the warehouse. The Blueray was delivered to my friends address in error. The TV was delivered on 11-12 and the box had been opened and there was no remote or 3D glasses. Best Buy is telling me that they have to do an investigation which will take 3-5 days. "Happy Birthday to Me..."

BestBuy.Com is Awful | Best Buy review from Waco, Texas

My son is in another state attending college and needed to purchase a DVD burner for his computer. He purchased what he needed online from Best Buy and received the product. When the product arrived it required multiple downloads to upgrade and turned out not to work with the system he has. (After we spent time researching and reviewing products and was assured this is what was needed.) Anyway, for the last several weeks we have been trying to return the product. They will not take it back at the local store so he called and was told he could send it back, they would email him paperwork with a shipping label. Never received the email. So instead of waiting on the phone again he sent an email. Received one back saying they cannot find any order under the order number or his name (The order number we copied and pasted from the online receipt received) and they could not help him. So I got involved and called the company. I was hung-up on 3 times!!! Finally reached someone who gave me a mailing address and said we will email you the shipping label. NEVER received the email. Sent the product back via UPS so we could track it and they still have charged my credit card! They have the product I want my money back. Filed a complaint with my credit card, can't get anyone at the company to listen. Will NEVER use BestBuy.com again. SERIOUSLY why can't they take an online item back in a local store??? Everyone else does. Should not have to be this hard.

Stay away from Best Buy if you are thinking about Windows 8

Nov 5, 2012 I ordered Windows 8 Pro to upgrade a convertible table/netbook computer. After receiving the software, I had questions about the difference between Windows 8 Upgrade vs Windows 8 Pro vs Windows 8 Pro Pac. I was at Costco after already ordering Windows 8 Pro from Best Buy. Costco had Windows Pro and Pro Pac both for $66.00, I paid $69.00 to you for the same software, but $3.00, no big deal. Besides, I get the professional assistance from the Geek Squad with my purchase. You even sent me an e-mail proclaiming the great assistance I could get from the Geek Squad if I needed any help with my Windows 8 purchase. Well, I did have questions, and I called the Geek Squad to find out what the difference was between Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Pro Pac. The first person I spoke with could not tell me. I was transferred 3 more times and none of the other 3 people could tell me either. I was on my computer while waiting on hold with the first person and searched to find the answer. None of the 4 people I spoke with could Explain this to me. I wasted close to an hour before I hung up and calling Microsoft. The answer your so called professional tech's could not answer was what I thought the answer was..... It is an add on Pac that completes Windows 8 Pro. A lot of the goodies that you had with Windows 7 the games a new media player, etc... You have to buy the Pro Pac to get it. I would now like to offer you some friendly advise. TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE BEFORE YOU LET THEM TAKE TECH CALLS. Especially when it is something as big as the biggest new software roll out of all time. Certainly you did not have your Geek Squad sitting around during the summer playing with windows 7 when the newest software upgrade was available as a test download that whole time. Did you not have an available computer at hand that you can download it to so they might train on one? You do sell them, you know. I also wanted to know if Windows 8 Pro was compatible with the convertible netbook/table that wanted to load it on. They could not tell me. Sadly it is the netbook/table that I played with in one of your stores 11 months ago. They had no clue what I was talking about. That's when I uncorked the wine bottle and began to drink and think back to the days when Circuit City unloaded their wage heavy experienced Tech Support employees to help their bottom line. A smile crossed my face because I knew when they made that mistake, it was the beginning of their demise. Nice shopping with you Best Buy. By by. James C.

Best Buy sucks at customer service and so does Staples. So I buy Windows 8 Pro asking a few questions they can't even anwser.

My hard drive crashed I picked up a new one then I saw that Windows 8 Pro was on sale for $69.00. I asked can I install a fresh copy of Windows 8 on this new hard drive? They said, Yes. What a lie so I get home popped in my new hard drive then installed Windows 8 Pro everything went fine.

The activation code popped up during the setup which was accepted. I was playing about with desktop when I realized that the key wasn't activated.

I re-entered the key, and still won't vaildate it. Thanks Best Buy for not telling me that I did have the update version and not the full Window 8 Pro OS.

Bradley/Bourbonnais Best buy SUCKS

After 10 minutes protection plan sales pitch I asked the guy helping us to check and see if they even have the laptop I wanted in stock ,they did not I asked if they can order it or have it shipped from a nearby store were I knew it was in stock . the sales associate said no n i responded I can order it online why can't you? after 3 failed attempt on 3 different registers and multiple staff and management assistance we got no where. he then asked me to fill out paperwork and when they got their system figured out they put the order in! while all this was going on my husband ordered it up the Best Buy app on his phone! we have the same problem last year trying to order headphones, twice we ordered them twice we paid for them and twice they never came in ,i had to drive to tinley park to pick them up there . Best Buy really needs to get their act together at the Bradley Bourbonnais store ,we will no longer go to that store is worth the gas to drive to Tinley Park just to avoid the headache
