Best Buy - Beware Web Prices are WRONG!

Best Buy accepted an order online for 3 GE appliances, refrigerator, range, and dishwasher. I confirmed prices on website and even called their 800# and confirmed the prices on the phone with a Best Buy customer service representative. I then confirmed delivery with calls and email chat. Today they advised their web prices are WRONG and canceled my order! Their systems must be a real mess.... prices were wrong( so they now say) on 2 GE appliances, not one price, but 2 wrong prices on one order. I suspect many other people are having the same problem. This happened on Sunday July 14th, 2013. Best Buy simply sent an email advising they were canceling my order...... but they retained the order for the one item that was not deeply discounted? You better confirm the Best Buy pricing on appliances before, after and again before shipment. What else is wrong if their systems.... if you cannot price correctly, what else is wrong?

Mr. Mark Thompson | Best Buy review from Birmingham, Alabama

Best Buy is screwed up. I placed an order for a GE refrigerator, dishwasher and a range. The prices were good so I called the 800 number to confirm. They acknowledged these were good prices and accepted my order. they confirmed delivery in another email twice. Then they sent an email call to advise they were canceling 2 of the items because they had a price error. The website had the price and the customer service representative confirmed the price. What is wrong with their systems? can you not trust their prices? We are building a home.... and on a tight construction schedule. How can you do business with a company that you cannot trust their prices on their website or with a customer service representative? This is their business.... how do you screw something as important as product pricing on multiple items?

39 inch rca led tv | Best Buy review from Everett, Washington

Purchased this tv in February of 2013 power inverter went out in june got the tv back at the begining of july brought it back in on july 14 for the same exact problem. Wanted to trade it for a different tv but to no avail they do not stand behind a product that they sell unless you buy their extended warranty, the tv is only 6 months old.theyreplaced it with a cheaper aftermarket power inverter and when I got the tv backit had scratches all over the base and the back of it but they will not take fault in this, they said it was like that when I brought it in. They did say on the work order that it was a little dusty but no scratches. as I showed them this they still said it was my fault. I will never buy another item from them again and hope you dont either

Agree with the person who said it's a cheap tv. You get what you pay for. Stop being so cheap and invest in quality.

The return policy is 15 days. Not only is that tv a cheap tv but you also refused the protection. They didn't even have to help you.

Thats why you buy a better product at the start. Dont cry because you were a cheapskate and didnt buy a better brand or even the insurance which you know they offer.

Left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing | Best Buy review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I purchased an expensive wireless router less than four months ago. The router quit so I called best buy customer service. I spent about 2 hours getting transferred and waiting. The last person I talked to told me to take the router to the store and they would exchange it. The customer service person told me that they would send me a copy of my original receipt. I never received the receipt so I called again and talked to another customer service person. This time I was talked to like I stole the router was trying to scam Best Buy. I asked to talk to a supervisor. This person added fuel to the fire!! If this is the best people that Best Buy can hire, THEN i WILL never DEAL WITH BEST BUY AGAIN!! Yes, the majority of the people are very nice, but a couple of Rotten apples can spoil the whole group.

I have never had a need to get a mailed receipt. They can look up all purchases you do (whether online or in store doesn't matter!) by just giving them your Best Buy card/member ID number.

I lost my receipt once, went to the store not sure I would be able to return an item...

BB will probably not tell you this, but....

Customer receipts are available from the customer service counter from the store.... when you arreturn/exchange an item! All you need is ID, another BB receipt from any product also aid them.

I asked them about this, and they told me this was available all the time.

I've given up calling BB. I go to the store. The customer service persons are more apt to help. I'm not understanding there attitude.

Send an email to the corporate headquarters, customer relations dept, about your experience. See what happens.

Ripped off by Best Buy

I bought an 80" Sharp Aquos TV, asked for delivery and was told that it was an open box item, so I could not get delivery. They loaded into our truck, lying flat on its back, not standing up. I called them on this as it didn't seem right, and they said that it was fine. We got it home and plugged it in, and it is cracked from corner to corner. Now they say that it is our fault because we REFUSED delivery!! I have been fighting with them for 6 weeks now and they have gotten to the point where they are not even picking up the phone or returning my calls!! We now have a $4000 door stop at our house. I can't believe the way that they are blowing me off after all of the money we have spent there in the past. Don't fall for that Reward Zone scam. You don't get ANY special treatment. Best Buy sucks and they have lost my business forever.

Been a larger shopper of Best Buy electronics for over five years now. As an owner of two large TV's (a 70 inch for my bedroom, and a 90 inch in the living room) I understand your pain.

You have to consider though that as an open box product the warranty...is well...***.

I'm sorry but I would NEVER buy an open box tv with that type of required cash behind it. Buy it the "legit" way for the real price, for the real deal. Buy the largest warranty you can with it.

At customer service, their customer service I admit is only average but whenever I have talked to them about being the wrong they have made it well worth my while to continue shopping there.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda!

Never pay in cash for big items!

Be critical. But, if they haddent layed it flat, it would have topped in the truck!

#1 - Always inspect item in the truck, and before they leave!

#2 - I take pictures/videos of large deliveries.

Send an letter/email to the store manager & corporate, that you will load the TV on a flatbed truck, and park it on the public street in front of the BestBuy store with a large sign stating that this is the delivery quality of Bestbuy and they refuse to honor there warranty.

You sepnt $4,000, a few hundered more wont matter.

I feel really bad about your $4000.00 TV, but you didn't think when they loaded into your truck not standing up that it would have damage to it after you unloaded it ? Well for that much cash, I would have no way let some dummy who hardly makes anything let load my new TV set into my truck, they don't care. I really hope you get your cash back or at least store credit or maybe another TV, Good luck.....

Steven Byer | Best Buy review from Hope, Rhode Island

I purchased a TV. The box had a small dent in it. When I went to assemble the TV, the screen had some marks on it and was defective. It was apparent also that the TV had been repackaged. Best Buy refused to exchange it. They accused me of damaging it. I did not - I handled it very carefully. I had to buy a new one, and the new box also had dents. They claimed they would never let a box out of their store with dents - obviously a false claim. I am suing them in small claims court. I have given them a lot of business, and was very disappointed with how they treated me.

Good for you. More persons should follow your example and spend the time to take action.

All BBB has to do is show the court there policy - nothing else!

Take mous's suggestion and print out ALL similar claims on different consumer websites. Also, if you can maage to get a few of these persons to come with you, that would help allot.

Hope it works out for you.

Could you update this with what happens?

That is the best way to fight them, in court. Print out similar complaints of their lousy business practices to show the judge.

BEST BUY STORE IN PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA

BEWARE: If you purchase a large scree TV at BEST BUY, in the PLYMOUTH MEETING, MULTIPLEX, be ready to WAIT almost four weeks for your installation! YES you a have a four week installation wait. THEY DON'T tell you this until after you pay and ASK! I not only purchased this 55 in TV, but the sound bar and speakers, along with the TV wooden cabinet. The manager I spoke with was also USELESS and spouted the company is very busy at this time. I responded saying that I was Happy to hear you are selling so many TV.... so then why doesn't BEST BUY HIRE MORE INSTALLERS? Best buy seems to be run as a small MOM and POP Store! I will never deal with this store again.

Best Buy Car Audio!!

I Head To best Buy To Upgrade My Subwolfers and Amp In My 2002 Ford Mustang. First it took forever for a customer service rep to greet me and say can I help you!! Second After talking with the Audio tech guy we agreed on 2 custom Subwolfer boxes on each side of the trunk of my Mustang to free up as much space in back as I can. No problem the Tech says plus he orders me a new amp and schedules the appointment for the install. The day comes for me to take the car in and they call me to say we have to reschedule so I do that for a week later. Then they call me again to say we don't have the parts yet lets reschedule again or I will be in touch when the parts arrive.Parts FINALLY come in like 2 days later and I head on down then the tech says as I sit down Its going to take me several hours to complete. THANKS for letting me know in advance so I could have made arrangements for transportation while you screw up my car audio. Needless to say with no ride I spent the whole day roaming around Best Buy looking at things to kill 3 hours of my time. Now heres the good part...Everythings done after 3 hours I sign and pay on my card The tech say your good no problems it all works fine now. I get out look at it and A big box is in the trunk no space at all and nothing like he discussed with me on the custom fits he said he would do as discussed and promised in the beginning then I start it up and a loud rumbling happens as it starts to clip and make alot of noise. On the way home it cuts in and out after the tech assured me it would no longer do that he checked all the wiring out, Last night going to work it cut completely. Nothing works now!! I was lied to and it was a *** rush job done just for a sale. Its all going back today and Im sure they will find a way to screw me out of alot of cash restock fees and that *** we cant refund the installation charges ***. Needless to say Im very pissed off now and would not recommend them to anyone in the future and will never go there again after this.

Best Buy refused my check

This happened on three occasions: 1) purchasing Christmas presents for people, 2) buying a new laptop, and 3) returning my laptop and purchasing a different model because there were too many glitches in the original. I needed to use a check because this was a Saturday afternoon, banks were closed, and I couldn't raise the limit on my debit card. Their automatic checking system apparently thought I was a deadbeat identity thief despite having 10 times the cost of that laptop in my checking account. Staff were very rude and refused to get a manager to override the system as managers have done for myself and others in the past. I have taken my business elsewhere, to one of Best Buy's competitors, and will not give them any more money until they get rid of that blasted TeleCheck system.

They're not able to take the check if TeleCheck won't take it. It's not even within their capabilities to do so even if they wanted to.

Anonymous
#680200

a manager of any retail store can't override a check. everything is eft now.

if your check bounced, it bounced. it isn't the retailers fault.

Mike_mn
#679829

There you go. You stated it.

That blasted TeleCheck system! BB realize on it. If that system shows any discrepancies, then BB will refuse the check. Simple as that.

Doesn't matter how much money you have in the bank!

Looks like you may need to correct your financial situation, rather than blame BB for protecting themselves.
