Bait and switch at best buy

On wednesday november 27th I printed a screen shot of an online and instore $249.00 price on a 39 inch insignia tv from best buy. I was going to take it with me black Friday to pick up. it has the model number on it. I looked on line thanksgiving and noticed the tv went up in price??? I went to the store, talked with Nate and he said the lower price was only a short period of time and would not drop the price. I admit I did not notice if the ad was for a period of time or not, but what store drops a price before black Friday then increases on black Friday? doesn't it work the opposite? the store also has a policy of all sale items being honored at the lower price with proof. when I mentioned that he said that was for products from different stores? I felt like this was a bait and switch.. just low enough and for a long enough time to get you into the store. companies have been known to raise original prices then offer them at 50% off. this felt the same way. I was duped and they did not play fair with pricing and advertising. price was a short period of time and he On Wednesday before this past Thursday, I found a 39 inch tv online and also offered in stores at best buy. I printed the information to take to the store today black Friday. I did not read or look to see if the price was "special" for a day, an hour etc. last night Thursday I saw on line the price was 30 dollars more. curious because black Friday is (besides cyber Monday) "the lowest prices. I called the store and the outgoing message stated that if there was a product with a lower price anywhere, they would honor that price. the store manager, Nate, stated the price was for a short period of time, and that the "guarantee of honoring" a lower price did not apply. he stated that they "stagger" by days and hours, the prices of products so there is fluctuation in prices of "same items" this is bait and switch in my opinion. I had the flyer in my hand, no where did it say "priced for a day, etc" also just as good customer service, he refused to give me the tv for the lesser price. regardless of whether there is "fine print" about such things, it is very disappointing to start your black Friday with a price increase.

Wanted to buy Kindle e-reader on sale, not available for shipping or at stores, customer service was a disrespectful joke | Best Buy review

I went online Thanksgiving evening to order the Kinder fourth generation e-reader on sale. For some reason, probably price, it is not available for shipping at $49.95 (what happened to free shipping for orders over $25 we ask?) Only store pickup. When I checked the Denver metro Best Buy stores - NONE OF THEM have any available. So I called customer service ... got an apparent 14year old with an attitude. When I told her the situation she gav emore attitude put me on hold to check something, and after five minutes, just hung up. Is this the way you handle customer service? Granted it's a busy holiday shopping time, but don't put moronic customer service juveniles with attitude on line with your customers. As for the Kindle, if it's a 'loss leader' designed only to get customers in the door, and not a genuine sale item, what is the difference between that and a scam. Your reputation is hurt on both counts, and widespread reports about this kind of situation on the complaint sites and Better Busines Bureaus ain't very good for business, is it? I take it you work for best buy. I had a similar situation with the best buy today in Richmond VA.

The store inventory showed an item in stock, when i arrived to pick it up the manager said although their inventory showed the item in stock it was not in stock. When asked if they would honor the price when they restocked, the assistant manager referred me to customer care who referred me back to the store manager who referred me back to customer care. This was after being placed on hold by their call center for nearly 20 minutes then being disconnected after the 2nd time I called. REALLY?????

This was my first AND LAST experience with Best Buy. Their Customer Care should be titled Customer Care-less.

Same goes for management who can't exain where the items are that are showing up as in stock in their inventory. Hummmmm

Charged for non sent item. Cannot cancel it. | Best Buy review

Stress-less shopping?! Absolute lie! Bought wiiu games on bestbuy.ca yesterday at 4PM that were supposed to be here today, so I can take it as a gift to a birthday party. The games never arrived and my order status shows as "in progress". Never got an email confirming that the order has been shipped or anything. Fine, no problem! I would just have my order cancelled and run over to the store and buy it in person. It so happens that after 35 minutes on the phone with costumer service, I can't cancel. The terms I accepted say that I can only be charged once my order has been shipped. It hasn't been shipped, no one know where my order is, but I can't cancel it because best buy has already charged me from my mastercard. No one at costumer service could give me a good answer to why I have been charged already or to where my order is. They have no idea if it is at Canada Post, at the warehouse or in the garbage bin, but my money is in their pocket already and there is nothing I can do about it. I'll either have to go to the store twice, to buy the gift now and then back to return the ones I bought online if I ever receive them, Or not show up with a gift at all, which would be awful.

Tried to purchase a pre-black Friday sale | Best Buy review

I heard of the promotion for Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 for $100 off with code. After attempting to purchase it online, I contacted the Chat department, and spoke with Doug. He assured me the code was valid, and to call 888-237-8289 and they would assist me. I called and spoke with Christine. During our very lengthy phone call, during which she couldn’t get the code to work either, she asked her immediate supervisor for assistance. Said supervisor stated that she believed it required my Reward Zone number, which was apparently not linked to my account. Christine walked me through the steps to link my account, and I waited several minutes for the confirmation email I was supposed to receive. When it didn’t arrive, she transferred me to MyBestBuy department, where I spoke with Albert. Albert ultimately informed me that I would eventually receive the email to confirm my account, but I didn’t need that in order to place the order. He transferred me back to the order department so that person could place the order for me. Again, he had spoken with his supervisor who verified this. When back at the order department, this time I spoke with Darlene. She proceeded to place the order for me, and found that the promotion code had expired the day before. She confirmed with her supervisor that the code had indeed expired, and I’m out of luck. This entire process took me just under 2 hours. Had the first of the four people, Doug, told me the code was expired I could have saved a lot of time and frustration. Had the second of the four people, Christine, known it was expired and informed me of such, I could have also saved her a lot of time. Had Albert informed me….. etc. I wasted 2 hours of my time because your people were uninformed. I just activated my new Best Buy credit card, which I will now NOT be using for Black Friday shopping.

from your story it appears that there was poor communications from with in best buy about the code - since various levels were clueless about its expiration...not an attempt to mislead you....Shat happens...get over it......I am sure you have sat in traffic jams for two hours right.

Best buy returns / warranties WORTHLESS

First I would advise you not to buy best buy presents 15 days before Christmas * If the person got 2 of those things * If it is broken * If it is not all in the box Their 15 day return policy is up and you can not return it. ================================ I had a bad experience trying to return a defective computer 2 days after I bought it and they would not honor the warranty I paid $80 for. Actually, they are on the extended returns policy for the holidays! January 15th is the cutoff for purchases made in December. Educate yourself-- you bought a protection plan, not a warranty.

Best Buy sells worthless washing machine and won't stand behind it

I purchased a new LG top loading washing machine in August of this year. It was not cheap.... it took us a month to figure out how to use the *** thing and now 3 months into owning it, it does not go through a load without getting an uneven load, won't run water through the soap/softner dispenser and takes hours (no lie hours) to run a single load of jeans. I asked Best Buy if I could bring it back because I am not happy with the worthless washer....they said I had 15 days to return it. ***, I didn't even do laundry in that period! So spend 700 dollars with Best Buy and get a boat anchor for a washing machine...and get treated like ***....NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY!

Whent to Best Buy to purchases the Google Nexus 7 for my son, Walmart had the same device on sale for $100 less. The clerk, spent 45 minutes searching for any reason not to honor the price match promise. Even though, all the specs match they found one number differentce in a part number; so No price matcH. Then they had the brass to tell us not to go to Walmart because Best Buy has better customer service. There is a reason Best Buy is in so much financial trouble! Maybe if they were honest and treated people better they would do better.

PS4 after pre-sale ticket handout | Best Buy review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

On Sunday November 24 at midnight my 2 teenage boys and i went to our local Best Buy to check and see if a line had started for a ticket handout for the PS4. The store was handing out tickets at 6am for a limited supply of PS4 consoles that were originally pre-ordered then cancelled by customers. At midnight one guy and a woman that was with him were there in their car waiting. When I pulled up the guy gets out and starts moving the gated barriers and re-arranging them which appeared strange to me. After moving a few barriers he and his female companion got out of their car and sat 2 chairs next to the doors. It was then that we noticed the guy had a best buy jacket on (he was a store employee). The temperature was below freezing and strong wind gusts delivered more shivering chills. The kids and I decided sitting outside for 6 hours wasn't a good idea so we left agreeing to return at 4. When we returned the same 2 people were back in their car waiting so we thought we should just stay in the car until another vehicle pulled in. Around 5 am another car pulls in and the best buy employee then heads for his chair as the newest arrival heads in the direction of the door. My son and i tried to hurry to the door but the newest person was able to get to it before us. This person ends up sitting in the chair next to the best buy employee as it turns out they are together! Even if my son and I had made it over there first the seat had been saved for that person anyhow. I stood outside with them until 6 then at 6 a woman comes out and hands out the tickets and of course the people in front of me are the only ones to get these tickets..... The best buy employee and his guest! Go figure! I was able to put it all together at this point...... Why would he even attempt in the freezing temp to sit outside when we pulled in at midnight unless he knew there were only a couple tickets available! Completely unfair! He had the heads up on how many before hand and he saved a seat for someone. I wouldnt even be in this mess had when I ordered the system on pre-order, Best buy would have taken the money at the time of purchase instead of 5 days later. My bank account has a security feature in which I have to pre-approve any transaction over $300, which I did at time of purchase for the pre-order sale. The approval was only good for 24 hours so when best buy tried to then take their money 5 days later my bank rejected the transaction and best buy never even tried to notify me of the cancelled order. By the time I found out all the pre-order sales were sold out!!!!! I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER THING IN MY LIFE FROM BEST BUY EVER!!!!!! HOPE THEY HAVE ENOUGH EMPLOYEES TO KEEP THE COMPANY RUNNING WITH THEIR PURCHASES!
