Best Buy review in Commerce, Georgia: Had Security Called On Me For No Reason

I walked in to my local best buy to buy a pair of headphones with a microphone for my work, I was in my pajamas so I guess that screamed that I was a shoplifter or something. As I'm looking at the headphones an employee comes up to me and asks me if I need help and I said yes "are these headphones compatible with macs?" (cause one of them said it was windows compatible so i wanted to be sure) and he replied in a very smart *** way "well yeah their headphones so they kind of work with computers" and I just smiled and said thank you and took it from him and as I was walking away he said "call off security" in his *** little walkie talkie. I'm done with best buy their over priced anyways and always have such wanna be know it alls working for them. Its places and times like this that I'm just gonna start walking into stores with a wad of cash in my and and scream "I HAVE MONEY TO PAY, I AM NOT A SHOPLIFTER"

Best Buy review in Culver City, California: Rude, unhelpful and unfinished installation

I bought a Samsung fridge from best buy. It turn out my door hallway is too small. It needs 30' but I barely have the size so the first installer told me to widen my door by half inch. Fair enough, I have a professional carpenter coming to widen the door to 31' wide. Second installer coming today and told me that my door still too small and trying to convince me to get a different fridge. I think he come up with 100 difference reason that the fridge won't fit through my door. Even tough is clearly there is enough room if they are willing to remove the door and draw. He refuses to remove the draw and door because he doesn't know how to remove it. And this is the guy that swears he has 10 years’ experience. While he is trying to tell his supervisor about the problem, I grab a screwdriver and remove the draw in less than 2 minutes. So finally he must feel bad and agree to remove the door. The final straw that made me write this review are three following mistakes. 1. They insist to use body-wrap harness to carry the door over 10 feet even though I told them we can wheel them in. That's what the little wheel under the fridge is for. Why they have to risk the fridge going wobbling instead of simple push. shrug Anyway at this point I gave up and let them do it. And guess what the fridge fit through the hall way door with no problem. 2. They want to leave before we turn on the fridge because; they don’t want to wait for me to put the draw back. Yes, they want me to put back those draw that I removed. After another argument they let me put the draw back. It took me 2 minutes while they just stand back and watch me doing it. 3. They forgot to plug one wire that connects to door check. They even say it’s something wrong with this blinking light but they want to leave anyway. I have to call Samsung customer service and we trouble shoot the problem. The nice lady actually told me what’s wrong with it. I hope other people won't have this problem in the future.

Best Buy - Camera Price Guarantee Review from Scottsdale, Arizona

I purchased a Samsung camera on 7-4-2014 for 179.95. A week later Frys has it advertised for 149.95. When I tried to make use of their price guarantee they wouldn't honor it because I bought a brown camera and they said the Frys camera was black. Same model, just a different color. REALLY?

Yea really, it is a different product because of the color. That's like wanting a stainless steel fridge for the price of a black one.

People have no understanding of things from a business perspective and it's scary. Next time check the colors first at different places and then buy it.

Best Buy review in Vancouver, British Columbia: Pricing scam

PRICING SCAM.... Went to buy the Olympus Tough TG850 today for $90 off so $179 (in flyer). THEN I see the regular price is $219. So clearly they added a dollar store total garbage neoprene "case" for it (that every other camera has already)... claim that's worth $50 ... and then claim the camera is now $90 off?? really? REALLY?? The camera guy in the store said that must be an old price and old tag, and that couldn't possibly be the case. Ya, more so they forgot to pull that off before pulling this scam. it's even still on the website. I left it due to the shady business practices alone. I don't need a crystal ball to see how future dealings with them will be like. Pathetic

Return Policy Review

15 day return policy is a fluke. Was told the item that I was returning was discontinued and could not be returned for even store credit even though the item stopped working shortly after purchase. Didn't even have the item for a month. We have a Best Buy card but we'll never shop there again!

Best Buy - Lenovo Computer Review from Fairfield, Connecticut

Brought a Lanovo computer, within a few months the power cord that goes into the pc will not charge it. I took the pc back to bestbuy to exchange it, based on an agreement I paid for ($99) it to be replaced. At least thats what the sales person told me. I got pissed they went back on what the sales person had told me, as I wouldve never spend that extra $99 dollars because I dont believe in paying insurance for electronics. Now if a receipt cant make bestbuy comply with an agreement, do we have to record them now? Courtesy of bestbuy kingsplaza Brooklyn. ..

That sucks you had such bad luck. What did you purchase for $99?

I just got a Lenovo laptop about 6 months ago, and $99 was for technical support from Geek Squad for a year, which wouldn't cover physical damage. I also got the Geek Squad Accidental Damage Support for it as well, which did cover my battery replacement AND my charging cord. It seems you just got the wrong service, and decided not to invest in the extra money in order to get what you needed. What a shame =[.

Besides, it seems like its an issue with some Lenovo products, so why get angry at "the messanger"?

Send it back to lenovo and have them fix it since it is within a year, they will cover it.

On the bright side, you have unlimited tech support for a year with anti-virus for three computers, congrats :D

As a certfied IT I warn people about Worst Buy. Its better to go to Microcenter, HH Greg and several other stores.

Especially to stay away from the Geek Squad if you encounter a computer problem.

I think you sell your soul to the devil if you work as a Geek Squad "tech". They know that they are ripping people off.

My son worked for the geek squad at best buy. He said the management is incredibly ***, they do nothing but stand around with their hands in their pockets and force their employees to rip people off.

My son was fired for helping a customer save $150.00 for a 5 minute quick fix for his cell phone. Best buy forces these incidents on their employees so they can make their "numbers." The public is paying out the nose for simple repairs and warranty payments for simple shoddy work. They promise their employees lots of hours, then cut them back to 5 hours a week. This has happened to 4 people I know personally who have been an employee there.

They *** on everyone!!! This town needs a Frys and not the scam artists of best buy! Don't pay for their rip off warranties!!!

My son is a computer science major. He charges $30 for any repair to best buys $350 BS repairs.

Best Buy review in New Haven, Michigan: Un-educated Employees

Today, I had decided to return a laptop bundle with a laptop which ran an intel i3 Dual-Core processor. I decided that I wanted a laptop that had an intel i5 Quad-Core processor, as I then could do a little gaming and also schooling without needing to purchase another laptop for awhile. So, I bring the bundle in, and after 15 minutes of waiting (an employee left and said he'd be right back... never came back), I successfully returned that bundle and walked to the back to look at their selection. I found one (4th generation intel i5-4210U Processor) and asked the employee who was aiding us if this laptop had a QUAD-CORE. He said yes it does, so I wholeheartedly trusted him and purchased the new laptop. I came home and tested it to see if it ran some games well(I will admit, it did run it much smoother than the i3). However, as I sit here typing this, I am somewhat disappointed to report that after a little research on this processor, it is indeed a DUAL-CORE, not QUAD. This drastically changes the performance of gaming-portion of the laptop (FPS-Frames Per Second at which the games run is much better on quad cores), and this makes me a bit upset. Don't get me wrong, the man who helped us was a very friendly man, but it would help to inform these employees of what exactly they are selling. I may return this laptop as well, although traveling up there for the THIRD time with a product I have been mis-informed about might not bode well with my parents who have to drive me there for purchasing purposes.

Do your research if you are not confident with those salesperson. There is a fault in yourself as well.

How much did you spend on your laptop? If you want a gaming laptop, why would you settle with an i5 processor, even if it is a 6th generation one?

You should at least be going to an i7 or an AMD A10 series? If you really wanted a laptop that you did not want to upgrade, and you wanted to do some gaming on it, why settle for an outdated processor?

I always see people like that walking into best buy.

I just bought a new harddrive, and a lady came in wanting a top-of-the-line laptop, but would not spend over $600. Makes me feel bad as a customer to think what those best buy guys have to go through =[

Best Buy is not the best "computer place" BUT no employee is going to know everything about every product that they sell.

Why didn't you do any research on the machine you were about to buy...?

@Anonymous

So called "Computer Geeks" are expected to know everything, or at lest a lot, about computers. The average man in the street doesn't.

"Regular" people walk into a computer store and expect salespersons to know about the product they are selling. They take the word of the salesperson when that salesperson says that the product has certain features. I believe the buying public has a right to be upset when a salesperson misinforms them about a product.

The proper thing to do, if you are a salesperson, is to say: "I'm not sure; let me check that for you." If that salesperson gives an assurance that the product has certain features or qualities, the buying public has a right to be upset if it does not. We're talking ethics, not to mention basic honesty.

@BasicHonesty

Let me get this straight. You want basic honesty from those kids that work at Best Buy?

There're kids.

They lie to their own parents. What makes you so special?

Best Buy review in Cleveland, Tennessee: High Pressure Sales Nonsense

Went to buy a tablet for my wife as a gift. The sales person was adamant that I had to buy a high end Android tab. It was clear in the first 5 minutes he didn't know much about the technology but kept pushing a high-end model. Net; I finally find what I want and he fetches an already opened box. I tell him bring my a sealed box. He says sure. Comes back 10 minutes later with a different model and says this one's sealed and it's the same price. Only it's from another manufacturer and a different size screen. When I note that, he says, 'work with me here'. It had all the charm of an interaction with a used car salesman. Won't go back to best buy. Went home, found the device on Amazon for $57 cheaper. This dinosaur is already dead, it just doesn't notice yet. The only reason to go to the store is to get quality input on the purchaser decision.
