Miss Leading Price Match Information | Best Buy review from Medinah, Illinois

On 11/8/14 my son purchased a Sharp Aquos Q+ 60" LED TV at the Best Buy in Crystal Lake, Il. The sale price was $1399.00. He purchased the 2 yr protection plan as well. I was with him and questioned the sales rep regarding the pricing should it be lower in the next couple of weeks. He assured me that their Price Match Guarantee would cover that. Not once did he mention that the prices on Thanksgiving weekend would not be matched. We were in the McHenry, IL store on Sunday 11/30/14 and noticed that the exact same set was priced at $1299.00. We took his receipt to the Customer Service desk and were told that the price match does not apply from 11/27/14 thru 12/1/14 inclusive. This to me is a direct contradiction of what was told to us when we purchased the TV. Unless this gets rectified on 12/2/14. That Sharp TV will be the last purchase we make at Best Buy. There are certainly other options and I would spend the gas money to shop them rather than buy anything else from Best Buy. The sales person making the sale was either mis-informed or using deceptive sales tactics to gain the sale that day. If you have a price match honor it. If I hadn't already cut up the box, we would return the set to them and repurchase. This would leave them with an open box special and get me some satisfaction. He shouldn't have to mention that Black Friday/Thanksgiving weekend prices would not be matched, that should be a given. If the tv was lowered after Thanksgiving weekend I am sure they would price adjust it, but to expect them to price match a Black Friday ad because you bought the tv ahead of time is completely unreasonable.

I just wanted to let people how much bestbuy website sucks and the people that answer the phone at the 1888 number do not know what the *** they are talking about this is why so I ordered a item on Thanksgiving night 2014 like 10 mins later I got a email saying We're sorry, but an item on your order placed on November 27, 2014 has been canceled because we were unable to verify your information.Be assured that if you paid by credit card, it has not been charged, and any other method of payment has been credited back to you which is bull *** because I use the same information that I used a bestbuy.com to buy at Walmart.com amazon.com ebay.com and target.com with no problems and my method of payment to bestbuy for this item was paypal so when I got the email I went and checked my paypal account and nothing and this is where the people at the 188 number don’t know what they are talking about comes in..I call the 188 number and spoke to a lady and she said that the money would be back in my paypal account in 24hrs so I said ok and I wait till Saturday November 29 2014 still no money in my paypal account and so I call the 188 number for the second time and spoke to a guy that told me that the money would be in my account on Monday December 1st so I waited till Monday and call the 1888 number for the third time and the lady told me that the first two people was wrong and it will take 90 days to get my money so I asked to speak to her supervisor and the supervisor said there was nothing she can do but it take 60day so I talked to 4 different people and got 4 different times of when I will get my money and scene best buys website sucks so much and srewed me because I make my living on selling on ebay and this item that I ordered was for a customer that is pissed off and is going to more then likely open a unpaid case on me and leave bad feedback and I don’t know if you know anything about ebay but the better your feedback the higher your chances are of selling so thank to bestbuy for screwing that up and for making me and my customer have a *** Christmas

So you're a reseller who listed an item online that you didn't actually have in your possession. Problems arise all the time especially with compiters, so the problem with the order being cancelled isn't reall that big of an issue on their end. The customer service reps not knowing the period it should take for the money to come back is the only real issue I see here.

I rate Best Buy "no stars" for their terrible customer service. I purchased a DVD for my grandchild. When I got home and broke through the cellophane and opened the case, there was no DVD. I toke the empty case and cash register receipt back to the store (South Sacramento) and was told that I was on my own and I would have to take the issue to the distributor of the DVD. Best Buy provided me no information re the distributor and nothing appeared on the DVD case. This is a clear example that Best Buy does not stand behind what they sell.

Best Buy - Installation Review from Mesa, Arizona

Bought a dualdeck radio and decided to take my car in to have them do the install. My car has a factory subwoofer under the passenger seat that is bolted to the bracket of the seat rail. So basically u need a wrench to get this speaker out. This subwoofer was in my car the day i took it in cause i just cleaned the inside of my car...dropped off my car came back got my car and they did a cheesy install for one and two i got home and noticed the subwoofer was gone. I had managment look ar their video of the guys working on my car that day and they said they never touched it. Kinda funny how it just got up and freaken walked away?...so cops wont do *** cause the cost of the subwoofer isnt worth investigation. .so i got hosed on both ends. *** american people left and right. Ill get best buy back cause iam not done....dont go to best buy in gilbert az.

Same problem here. I ordered a stack kit with my washer and dryer and after 2 deliveries they still don't have it here. I also ordered a double oven and they came out to messure the opening to make sure it would fit and then canceled the order without saying anything, but didn't tell the delivery people (who I found out when they were here they don't even work for Best Buy) until they came out to install it only to find out it wouldn't fit. then ordered a new one only but they keep putting off saying it's on back order. Why was it not on back order 6 weeks ago or anytime in between when I ordered it until 3 days before delivery. So they have full payment for all items and they still have the items as well.

Everything affordable for me on line was sold out. I looked at a smaller tv and found one. It had to be picked up at the store. I live in Central PA and the closest store was Virginia. Really Best buy, that is your best. I will go to Walmart. I felt as though the old bait and switch was at work here in the local Best Buy store. I found out I must rant and carry on for 100 words or my complaint can not be registered. Again, Best Buy are you folks just not with it or what. This is just stupidity at it's finest.

There was no bait and switch only no product availability in your area. The Web site told you exactly where you could get the tv for the price you were willing to pay. Nothing was switched and you shouldn't make such accusations because products were sold out around Christmas time.

The store could preface that the items may not be available in your local area. This is not an accusation, this is the truth. Best Buy needs to update their advertisements to reflect correct information regardless of the time of year.

How Best Buy Ruined My Christmas

I purchased the same Panasonic 50" TV online Thursday morning. It was available for store pickup at the Danbury store and when I went to pick it up that night they said sorry we sold all of them. I was like, "you sold the TV I bought online for pickup?" They were like, sorry for the misunderstanding. All we can do is cancel your order. Best Buy has zero credibility. DO NOT FALL INTO THE SAME TRAP. Shop at Walmart (customer service was awesome tonight) shop at Amazon if your going to purchase something online, but if you shop on Best Buy understand that they do not stand by their service and there is no guarantee that what you purchased online will be there when you go to pick it up....scary They literally took the TV I bought online for store pickup....and sold it to someone else....and to follow up, I called corporate, and they told me there is nothing they are willing to do to compensate me. All they will do is cancel my order. Well, thanks Best Buy....I am now without the XMas gift I had purchased for my daughter and their way of making it up to me was simply cancelling my order and re-reimbursing me at a later date....so my $200 isnt even available to me to buy my daughter another gift at this time. How about that service from Best Buy.....Awesome Naturally, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as contact all of the local news stations in the greater connecticut/NY region to inform them of this. The $200 50'' Panasonic tv was a black Friday doorbuster which means first come first served like all black Friday doorbusters in America for the past decade. Why should you be compensated because you wouldn't wait in line like everyone else did.
