FIRST, I AM DISABLED AND AM HOMEBOUND. I RECENTLY NEEDED TO PURCHASE A NEW TV AND WAS ADVISED ONLINE BY A BEST BUY AGENT TO PURCHASE A "SMART" TV BECAUSE I SPECIFICALLY WANTED TO ORDER NETFLIX I DID ALL THE NECESSARY FILTERING AND LISTED UNDER "SMART" TV'S WAS THE SAMSUNG TV I PURCHASED. I WENT BACK AND FORTH WITH THE AGENT REGARDING THIS TV BEFORE I MADE THE PURCHASE AND IT TURNS OUT IT IS NOT A "SMART" TV. WHY WAS IT LISTED UNDER THAT CATEGORY? WHY DIDN'T THE AGENT KNOW THAT NETFLIX COULDN'T BE WATCHED ON THIS MODEL? I AM VERY ANGRY AND IF I COULD CONTACT SOMEONE WHO COULD ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING I, OBVIOUSLY, WOULD. THEIR CUSTOMER "SERViCE" IS AN OXYMORON.

Automatic renewal of software for a computer I nolonger have. | Best Buy review from Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Beware of Best Buys automatic renewals on the Best Buy credit card. I was never notified that it was renewed like I was in the past because I nolonger use that computer. When I got the bill on the Best Buy credit card I notified Best Buy and the Geek Squad said that they would remove the charge. They never removed it and now I am getting late payment charges. I have contacted Citybank and unlike other charge cards they will do nothing. I closed the account! Best Buy can add anything to your card and Citybank will do nothing. I am waiting for this to go to collection. Citybank will also call you with a pre-recorded message every day. I will never deal with either company.

Best Buy specializes in "customer no service"

I went in to the Monrovia store this morning. Had the rudest sales rep it has ever been my misfortune to deal with. I finally got some help from the manager, but didn't get too far. After going home and looking up what he told me, I tried to call and speak with him. I called twice; was on hold both times; and both times, after 15 minutes someone hung up on me. Avoid this rip off company at all costs. Otherwise, your blood pressure will go up, like mine did. Need 10 more words, so I am vamping now.

First of all, I spend $15,000-$20,000 a year at this store. On 2/28/2015 at about 5:30pm I went to this store and was wanting to buy 2 Amazon Fire TV's, like I have many times in the past, and this last time, there is a VERY BIG security guy that comes up to me (I did not get his name, but you cannot miss him) and was VERY rude and said "you can only buy one per house hold" and I said "why, I have never had this problem before", he walks back to me and just says "one per house hold" and turns his back to me and walks away... This was very infuriating!!! For one, I AM THE CUSTOMER!!! there are many ways he could have told me nicely and tried to be cordial about there new policy, granted, this is the ONLY store to have this policy. The store manager also said that i can order more than one Fire TV and pick them up on Tuesday, but how is this ANY different from just letting me buy 2 this night when I wanted to?? I asked to speak to the store manager and he said he would have a talk with the security guy, but I really do not think they will do anything about it. If they do not, they are going to loose my business. I have my own business and customer service is key. If I were to talk and treat my customers like I was treated, I would not have any customers left!! I am writing this review because I do not believe that this store manager is going to do anything about this. The way he said he was going to talk to this guy seemed like he was just trying to get me out of the store. I was not rude by any means, but they DID let the store manager know that I was very upset. Anyone who wants to sell something should not turn their back and walk away while you are talking to them. two thumbs down to this store!!

I went to best buy to purchase a tablet. After waiting for almost 45minutes someone decided to assist me. The individual clearly did not know the products they were selling and didn't even know what they had in stock. After purchasing the tablet I decided to get a bigger tablet. The next day I arrive at the store when they first open hoping to receive better customer service. After waiting 30 minutes to see a new tablet I decided to look for a manager. Surprisingly all the managers were in the front of the store laughing and goofing off. Apparently, they were offended that I interrupted there non work related conversation. The manager told me that it should be someone in the area to assist me. After walking around they finally found someone to assist me. Apparently he was upset that we interrupted his texting. My problem is that I counted 25 employees on the floor of the store walking around. No one was assisting or trying to get a sale. The store in Newport News, VA clearly doesn't know what customer service is. Management and employees really need basic training. I try to avoid this store at all cost. Best buy corporate really needs to go and investigate issues with store. Employees are rude, unfriendly and getting paid not to do there job.

Best Buy / Verizon Cell Phone Promotion Not Honored

1) Today, February 28, 2015, we went to BB to buy / upgrade our Verizon cell phones. A Best Buy flyer was displayed at the Verizon phone section. In short, the flyer stated if you purchase a new or upgrade an existing account with a Samsung Galaxy S5 or Samsung Galaxy Note 4 you will receive a $100 gift card per phone. The promotion was scheduled to end February 28, 2015. 2) As the Sales Consultant, Joseph, was working on the phone sales, I asked him about the promotion. My wife took him directly to the flyer. He came back to the sales area, spoke with, I presume, a manager, about the promotion. The Verizon Rep on hand immediately took down the flyer and ripped it and tossed it in the trash. Joseph came back to us and continued to work on the phone sale. At certain point, he said the system is not showing a promotion. He tried two phones, both showed no promotion. Joseph again went to speak to his manager. He came back and stated the promotion was over, but his manager said if I wanted he would give me a discount on phone accessories. I told him, no, the promotion is for $100.00 gift card. Again Joseph went to speak with his manager, this time Joseph came back and stated his manager offered $150. My wife said, we need the phones, take the $150. 3) As we went ahead with the purchased and completing the transaction, I asked Joseph for the $150.00 gift card. He said his manager approved that I could buy $150.00 worth of accessories or Best Buy stuff. I told him I was not prepared to purchase anything else at the moment and I thought a gift card was in order. 4) I went ahead with the phone purchase transaction because my wife and son need phones. I definitely feel cheated by Best Buy Manager (Andrew). I don't know his last name, but he was on duty at or around 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Saturday night February 28, 2015, the store is located in Burbank, CA. Best Buy and Verizon are constantly advertising promotions. Now that I needed phones, I wanted to take advantaged of a promotion and now I was cheated. I asked Joseph (Phone Sales Consultant) to sign a note stating the store owes me the $150.00 store credit. He signed it, but when I asked if the store manager would sign it, he sort of grinned and chuckled. Maybe, I should have cancelled the transaction and left the store, but I accepted the phone transaction and I know I'll be out on the promotion. I just need to vent and warn any one who will learn from this screw-up.

BestBuy poor customer service | Best Buy review from Franklin, North Carolina

My wife paid for a car stereo to be installed with speakers for my birthday. BB sent an email that they would cancel the order Monday. I replied that I had a Saturday installation plus called the store. No problem I was told as it was in their computer system. What about the installation dept. I asked? Back there the tech. couldn't find my purchase order number since they don't have access to BB computer system(?). On Saturday I found out that the order was cancelled but I could pay for it again. Left the car and got a call later that they didn't have the dash kit for my vehicle (Toyotas are rare, right) but they could order me one and I could drive another 100 mile round trip for them to install it. The store manager seemed to think it was my fault since I hadn't ordered a dash kit (no one mentioned it and it was not noted on the BB website). Perhaps if I ran a business that installed car stereos I might have need of dash kits but that's just crazy talk. Read a few reviews and at least I wasn't as screwed over as the customers who actually bought stuff there. Beware WorstBuy.

Employees are not in any hurry to help you. Even if they do know what they are doing (which given today's events I highly doubt), they won't do it because they can just tell you there is no solution and go back to getting paid to stand around and bs with their "best buy buds".

Kaspersky internet security | Best Buy review from Grandview, Missouri

I bought the Kaspersky interner security prog thinking it was for 1 yr from the day I install it as It has been many years in the past. but I find out 4 days later after I install it, it is only good for 6 months after the day I paid for it. I called in after I see I only has 176 more days left so I talk to the store about the change and nothing on the box about it and then read my receipt and see it on it days after. So to me this is a store scam and real BS so heads up on what you buy it may only be good a a few months the DAY you buy it.

This seems more like a Kaspersky problem than a Best Buy problem. If I'm understanding right than the change which caused this issue is on Kaspersky's side not best buys, best but is just given the product to sell they had no hand in the product being activated and counting down. So it would be nice if you could explain how this is a store scam or even their fault.
