Best Buy = Awful Customer Service

I'm an elite member at Best Buy. I walk into my local store and purchase a $1,700 samsung tv. Take the TV home and pay someone to mount it on the wall. The installer says I'm missing a critical component and without it the tv will not work -- the one connect console. I go back to best buy and the *** manager tells me: sorry, nothing we can do. Either return it or go to Samsung online and order the $400 part. What?!?!? They couldn't have cared less. That's the typical service at best buy. Lesson: SHOP AT FRY'S. I went there to buy internet cable and the store clerks are nice, competent and actually care. Not sure where else to go but I know I'm done with the *ssholes at best buy. Will return my tv soon and will then find another place to buy it.

I'm confused did the tv not come with something that was supposed to be in the box or was it something that isn't included but you expected them to just give it to you? The fact that they were willing to return the tv implies to me that the component isn't normally provided with the tv.

Best Buy - never again

I will never buy another thing from this store again especially something that needs to be delivered. I bought an open box wall oven from a store in Houston and would to say I got a very good deal. They schedule a delivery time with me but had to reschedule twice after I have taken a day off from work. The second time they didn't even bother calling so I burned my whole day in the house waiting. When I called their customer service department they told me that the item I bought was mishandled and the glass door was broken. Well things happen, the agent said he will try to see what he can do but it turns out that he really couldn't do anything. He said I would need to go to the store and see what they could do for me as far as giving some concessions. Well I basically said I'd rather not go to all the hassle since i've been inconvenienced enough. I asked him to just refund me the money and i'll go get it somewhere else. He said the refund would have to mailed to me and would take 7 to 10 business days. That just grinds my gear. So at the moment I don't have the item I paid for, burned two days of vacation and now don't have the money to buy it somewhere else. In comparison, I bought something from Amazon, had a hassle free return and got my money credited back to me the following day. No wonder companies like Amazon killing Best Buy

I went to best buy on Yonkers to purchase the surface pro 3. I spent hours in the store trying to learn about the machine I was purchasing. When I got home the machine didn't do the things I expected. I went back to the store several times finally one of the sales people told me I didn't purchase the surface pro 3 and I purchased the surface 3. Now best buy is willing to refund my money however the accessories I purchased they refuse to refund and they also refuse to return the taxes I paid for the surface 3.

I ordered and paid for a product on line. When I went to customer pick up I was chastised for being too early and told " That's why we tell you to wait for your email". I said okay, I'm early. Can some one get it for me? No, that is another department. ( she can't call?) She then told me I could go find it myself on the floor. There are at least 5 employees hanging out at the front of the store, no customers in sight, and no one can help me? After asking an employee, who was straightening a shelf for help, I goy sent to the wrong department. I eventually wandered into the right place and one of the 3 employees standing there in a huddle, helped me get my product. I then returned to the customer pick up. The girl acted like I was bothering her and took forever to look up my order, the number which I had already given her. She kept stopping to talk to the other equally idle workers. Finally I got my order and left. All the while not another customer in sight. If I wanted to go to a place with no customer service I'd go to Walmart. Better yet, order from Amazon. I wouldn't even have to leave my house with free shipping!!

I have had the worse customer service experience and we are still not satisfied. On September 20th my husband and I went into this location to purchase a new TV. We approached several sales associates only to be ignored or presented with attitude. After several hours, we were finally done with our purchase. In addition to our TV, we also purchased a Geek Squad installation. We scheduled our installation for 2 weeks out which was the first available date that would work for all parties. When the Geek Squad arrived on October 3rd, we were informed that they could not do the installation because of where we wanted the TV installed. They told us what we needed to do and that we would need to reschedule our installation. We went back to the store and where we encountered two more rude employees that did not want to assist us. We were finally able to reschedule our installation and they were scheduled to come out between 12pm and 4pm on October 17th. At 10am on the 17th I was contacted by an installer who told me my installation was cancelled. I immediately called the store and Geek Squad and confirmed that my appointment was still on the schedule. I called Adam, the installer, back and informed him that my appointment was not cancelled. He said he would be out between noon and 4 to install the tv. At 4:30pm, Adam called me to tell me that he would not be at my house until 5 or 6pm. I informed him that I had to be somewhere at 7pm. He called me at 6:50pm and asked if we still wanted him to come to the house. My husband told him yes. At 7:15 Adam finally called saying that he was at our house. My husband had to step out but told him that he would be there in 10 mins. When my husband returned home, Adam was gone and would not answer his phone. On Sunday, October 18, I called the store and spoke with a manager named Ricky. I explained the entire situation and he said that he would work on getting us on the schedule for Tuesday and refund us the installation charge. I never heard back from him. I called again today, October 20, 2015 and spoke to a manager named Tony. He said he would check with Geek Squad and get right back to me. After 4 hours, I called the store and was told that they did not have any information for me. I think requested the District Manager's phone number. I was placed on hold for almost 20 mins. and finally received an email address. This store is ABSOLUTELY the worst. I will NEVER shop at Best Buy again.

I purchased an I phone 6 with a warranty. While under the 1 year warranty had a pixel issue. Bust Buy charged me for a new phone as a deposit, but than sent a refurbished phone. I expect a new phone and not someones old repaired phone. I was told by Best Buy that I could bring the replacement phone to a store and pay $200.00 to upgrade to the 6s. When I went to the store they told me that it is not possible because the phone I was sent is not new in the original box. When calling Best Buy it takes at least 5 minutes to reach an agent. I was told that I would have to call back to get a tracking number, It took many calls to finally get the tracking number. When I asked them to email it to me when available, they refused to. Horrible Service .

I feel your pain. I've had experience with these 'protection' plans.

If you read the fine print, you will see that if you send in the phone, THEY have the option to send you a new phone, the same phone repaired, or, a refurbished phone. Well, which option would you expect them to choose, but the least expensive one for them. This is why I NEVER get those plans - it's just not worth it.

And yes, I have also run into almost the same situation with the 'original packaging' issue.

All the advantages are with the retailer. They make the rules that cancel each other out, and that means more profit for them.

After all, they are a 'for profit' organization.

These warranties are a huge revenue stream for these companies. They seem like a good idea. Self insure yourself.

Utilize factory warranty. Sell the phone for what you can get for it and use that money to buy another.

This is common with all major companies. Marketplace items are sold by third party sellers, in other words, people other than Best Buy.

You cannot use gift cards at stores other than Best Buy.

You will find this on Walmart's website, you cannot use gift cards for items sold by Wayfair on their website, etc. This is a really common practice.
