Best Buy Gamer's Club unlocked fiasco

So I thought the discounts for the Gamer's Club unlocked looked pretty good and bought the two-year membership the other day specifically to buy the new Star Wars game. First, I logged onto My Best Buy account to preorder the game with my new Gamers unlocked discounts I'd received via email. When I entered the discount promo code the system returned an error telling me the discount could only be made in a store (not in the comfort of my den). So, I went to my local store to cash in on my discounts ( a $5 voucher off the game and a $10 voucher for preordering a new game). I was told at the counter that I couldn't preorder because the game was being released in 24 hours - the associate was neither friendly nor apologetic. OK, so I drove across town to the other Best Buy and proceeded to the counter with my preorder once again. This time I could preorder but was told I couldn't use my discounts until the next day and would have to have my purchase price adjusted at the customer service counter. Three strikes and I was out - Best Buy had kept me from purchasing a game they sell in their store due to their totally ludicrous marketing policies and their incompetent, under-trained employees. No wonder Amazon is running away with all their business!

Best Buy - Geek Squad Computer Repair Service Review from Washington, District Of Columbia

Went into store to get computer repair and I was with wife because we needed a new microwave. She picked out microwave while I went to geek squad to drop off computer tower. Geek told me that even though the store was almost empty I would have to come back when I had gotten an appointment. So we did not purchase microwave and left. The only reason I had left to shop there was to get repair service. Now that they will not talk to you if you are in Best Buy and carting a heavy computer around. In the Apple Store you can make an appointment or get on que when you enter store but at Best Buy they always come up with ways to make to store experience worst each time you visit. So next computer is not coming from Best Buy neither is 4K TV.

Called to see the Best Buy store had a certain refrigerator I seen at a competitor and they said yes. After driving out of my way when I got to the store they did not have the product. Seen an open Box item and purchased the open box item for over 1000. The GM of the store guaranteed free delivery as their add states. Said they would deliver on 8/21/15 then on 8/28/25 stayed home all day and missed work both days (guaranteed it was on the truck and would be delivered till 8PM. When 8PM rolled around no delivery. Then I stated I can not stay home from work so must be delivered before 1PM said it would be delivered on 9/4/15 then on 9/11/15. Then the managers said if I paid $70. more they could deliver it at the given time.This is the most unethical store I have ever dealt with. Bait and Switch and then lied on a receipt and stated it had been delivered and an exchange was to take place on 9/4/15. When asked why Best Buy put that on the receipt for another delivery the boss of the qeek squad said that is how he could get another delivery date. FRAUD as far as I am concerned.

Bought a washer and had it delivered. When they installed it the guy broke my pipe, kicked it aside as if nothing happened, hooked up the hose to the broken pipe then ran the washer. Water all over the floor gases emitting out of the sewer pipe and no one would call a plumber. It was an emergency because the gases now coming out of my sewer pipe are now toxic. NEVER GET ANYTHING DELIVERED BY THEM IF THEY USE A COMPANY CALLED SPIRIT. The guy would not leave my house because we refused to sign the delivery order so the police had to be called. Still fighting with them as it needs now to be brought up to code. I have 2 quotes. One much higher to bring up to code and one much lower to just fix as is. Of course they are paying the cheaper one. I will NEVER purchase an appliance at Best Buy again. I am looking some place else when I replace my dryer in a few months. I don't want anything to do with Best Buy again

I purchased online a PC from best buy. I would normally have made this purchase through Amazon but at the last minute changed my mind. What a mistake. I received notification my item had been delivered and when I got home it was not there. I contacted best buy and was told I needed to give them 8 days to investigate. It has been 12 and no word at all from them. USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN PURCHASING FROM BEST BUY!!!! They will take your money and if there is an issue they will not stand behind your purchase. This is the worst online shopping experience I have ever had! I would be enjoying my new PC if I had just stayed with Amazon. Best Buy is the WORST!

Five weeks ago I purchased an HPx2 from Best Buy in McKinney. The keyboard stopped responding so I took it into the Geek Squad. I felt like it was a setting more than hardware and I wanted someone to walk me through how to identify the problem. I never even got to speak with a technical person. The initial encounter was an employee asking me what I needed. After I explained he ran behind a curtain to discuss with what I assumed was the IT Wizard. It felt like I was in OZ. He ran back and forth a couple of times and said they would need to send to HP. My argument was I thought the Geek Squad was there to help me and since I had it for such a short time I would like it to be replaced. He stated their policy is they do not service at the location and it has to be sent to the manufacturer. It cannot be replaced, that is up to HP support/service. I asked to speak to the manager. Manager had the same story. Without going into all the details: BEWARE, the minute you walk out of a Best Buy they no longer support or take responsibility for the products that come off their shelves. They shift the responsibility to the manufacture 100%. Now this is the kicker - I went home and researched the HP service website and figured it out all on my own and I promise you I am no computer Geek. All I wanted was someone to take the time to help me.

I'm not sure where the monetary loss of $200 came from you don't mention anything about spending $200, just that you purchased the device 5 weeks ago. I also don't see, did you purchase a protection plan?

as you don't state you did and didn't state you brought it in to be looked art under any warranty or protection plan, if you don't purchase one than there really wasn't anything bestbuy owed you for an issue arising, be that fixing the problem or replacing the device. Lastly I don't know about geeksquad but having worked as an EasyTech at Staples I can tell you we didn't offer any service to walk customers through fixing issues, which I'd assume it's true of geeksquad too, so your desire to have them show you how to fix the issue was unlikely to happen in the first place.

The warranty period from the manufacturer is what determines who fixes the problems. In your case, I assume it was still under warranty and it is HP's responsibility to fix, not BB.

You are mistaken. Immediate gratification will not happen when computers break under warranty.

We went in to purchase PlayStation 4 unlimited and the customer service representative quoted me a price 349.00. Once arrive at register it was 455. I told the young men that's not the price that was told to me and they need to honor the price that was listed/ told to me. Not a happy customer at all.

I was looking at the new Galaxy Note4S when one of the sales associates from the phone department walked to me and explained (lie) that if I trade my IPhone I didn't have to pay anything for the Galaxy. I had just purchase two new IPhone's (my wife and mine) and it sounded like a logic thing to do. When we got home we realized that they charged me full retail price ($699) for the two new phones and added a 24 months payment plan on booth of my Verizon lines and lets not forget that I gave them my other two new IPhones. I was extremely upset and called Verizon right away and they were really sorry about what the Best Buy people did. I called Best Buy and they kind of smiled at my face telling me that I signed the papers and it was nothing that they could do. I was really upset and didn't know what to do. The manager didn't want to speak with me and the sales guy who sold me the phone was hiding and avoided us. in the past I had great experience on the store but I truly held accountable Best Buy for employing a delinquent salesman and for having poor management. I will try to advice as many people as I can to stay away from this thieves.

This review is complete BS. There's no way this happened because you have to either use your card and sign or enter your pin, or use cash for the transaction...so you would have known that they charged you. What a bad lie!!

I would recommend you post this review along with the link to your review on the pissed off consumer site to the Best Buy's Facebook page. I would also try to see if the local Best Buy that did this to you has a facebook page and post it there.

Call them out. Get corporate involved, so sorry this happened.
