Told shud subscribe to geek squad for iPhone. "They will repair or replace your damaged phone". Phone damaged after several months paying. Guess what? Oh that kind of damage isn't covered. Best buy credit card got charged for some kind of insurance. Was not told - just appears. Only way to stop was to close account. Samsung TV purchased. Removed from box had chip corner of screen. Returned same day. Was told "how do we know you didn't do that" General service a lot like Home Depot. Say they will check - and never come back Prove you don't have to be good to be successful

Misnamed "BEST BUY" and its "GEEK SQUAD" (well named) do not provide the kind of support they promise when you pay for an extra extended warranty. I have phoned several times over several weeks asking them to send someone over to make sure my TV/Sound/Apple Computer system was connected/set up properly since it has never worked well from just after they first set it up. Trying to get service I have been (a) cut off on phone calls (b) transferred from department to department, on one call no less than 4 times (c) given service dates that are impossible for me to make, (d) been asked repeated technical questions that I can't answer by people who read scripts telling me how sorry they are I am experiencing difficulties instead of just helping to resolve them and, finally (e) being offered a visit in late December, about 2 months from the time of my initial phone call. These folks haven't the faintest idea of what good customer support or service is. They obviously don't know that "the customer is always right." They just want your $ up front and when they have it they could care less about whether you are happy with their products/services. I would NEVER buy from them again.

Open box items are often considered close outs, returns, things that got stuck with. It's very common for things products, including appliances and electronics to be years old.

They are offered at a discount for being open box, so they are considered non refundable.

I never take a gamble with these items, because I don't have the money to throw away. The only time it's worth buying items that are open box, is if you buy a Square Trade warranty, they will cover everything regardless of the age of the item.

I purchased a Bosch dishwasher from the retail store. Delivery was scheduled for a few days out. It was later cancelled by the Best Buy delivery service because it was "damaged". I was then informed there were no other units of that model in stock. My wife consented to purchase an upgraded model since Thanksgiving was near and we were entertaining 20 guests. As promised, we were notified the night before delivery and provided with a five hour delivery window. Hallway through the scheduled delivery period I contacted the delivery company, after 20 minutes on hold, and was told it would arrive within 1 1/2 hours. Two hours later I called again and was on hold for 27 minutes. The Customer Service rep said she would check again with the drivers and 15 minutes later informed me that it was not on the truck and delivery would not occur. I asked the rep to determine if it would be delivered the next day. She said she would check and get back to me and I asked her she really intended to call back. She assured she would - and you guessed it - no call back. We went to Best Buy the following day to cancel the order and after an hour of working with the store rep they were not able to locate the unit or get through to the delivery service. We left the store stating we expected a cancellation that day, went to Sears, spent 15 minutes with the sales rep, bought the same dishwasher at a better price and it was delivered two days later.

Mistake in buying from Sears. Hope they didn't talk you into an extended warranty, etc. They are actually worse than BB.

Best Buy review in Monterey, California: The customer is invisible to the salespeople

About 6:30 PM last night I went into the Best Buy in the mall off of Imjin Road in Marina, Ca. I had 4 things I wanted to check out and buy. (I was ready to spend over $1,000.00) I walked through the whole store into the 4 different departments where the items were. It's a large store. There were many sales people on the floor in their blue outfits. In EVERY case, whenever I saw a salesperson, they were talking with 1 or more of their coworkers and in 1 case there were at least 6 hanging out at a desk. I was invisible to them. NOT ONCE was I asked if I needed help in any way. They were all content with having a fine time hanging with their buddy coworkers. I'm thinking that Best Buy's new policy is for the customer to ask THEM for assistance. NOT ACCEPTABLE! I guess they don't care about selling their inventory, much less customer service. Well, There is the internet, Fry's and Costco where we can buy everything Best Buy carries. I seriously hope that store fails and has to close. I had to laugh when the Best Buy "greeter" at the door said "Thank You" to me as I was leaving.

All Best Buy store locations are this way that I've ever been to. I've not only been ignored by socializing employees, but when I ask for help, they pretend like I'm not there.

Best Buy - Geek Squad Laptop Repair Review from Springfield, Missouri

I went to best buy with my laptop i forgot my password so i removed something from my drive and it didnt work not good nomore iwas help by someone at the geek squad the said it would take *** week to fix it after two days we checkt the progress online and it said that the have to call me instade we callt them the told me that it could not be fix nomore because my harddrive didnt work nomore and the needed to get a repair set ore boot up disc but iam on vacation here so i didnt had time for that i had to pay infront 150 dollar but i got that back i askt a few times iff the where sure it was my hard drive and they where positive it could not be fixt now iam not in to computers ore laptops but i do know that i didnt remove something that ,y laptop would not work nomore so i went to a other store its a verry small store THE NAME OFF THE STORE I WENT TO IS SPRINGFIELD LAPTOP ON GRAND i went in there and told my story he open up my Aptop toke something out to test it and gess what it was fixt in 2 hours so i dont know what people that are at the geeksquad but in my eyes they are a bunch off *** and the man at the SPRINGFIELD LAPTOP STORE ON GRAND is a freaking good man who knows the work he is doing

At Best Buy out of the box can mean returned, completely marked down to be clearance priced out, ancient technology, etc. I never buy out of the box at Best Buy, way too risky with them!

I bought 4 big screen tvs for a new business. They were not installed until after a few weeks. 1 unit had *** in the screen which could not be seen until the unit was powered up and on. Screen is shot. I called Best Buy and they told me because it was after the 15 day period I was out of luck. Rudely told me to call Samsung. Very nice Guy at Samsung said it was a dealer issue. Im out $900. Remember this if you buy for Christmas. Very poor service. By the way, the complete protection plan does NOT cover any kind of damage including impact damage. Check it out carefully
